  • I love spinning these batts, and I've been trying to make sure I work on spinning bulkier yarns now and then. It's just so easy over time for your yarns to get thinner and thinner. This yarn turned out great!

My son (6'5") got my (4' 10 1/2") dyes, steamer, "good fibers" down from the top shelf in my sewing/craft room! Yeah!!!! My plan is to spend Christmas Day just playing with fiber, dyeing some and maybe using the drum carder but definitely spinning. Our house has been waaaaay too effected by COVID and getting ready for a virtual Christmas this year so I haven't been at the fibers much. Since you asked: I am in Minnesota and the COVID is real! So my 17 yo grandson has ended up living with me since April due to the yuck. And his dog, a golden doodle (2 1/2 yo) who is now in heat thank you very much COVID for not allowing her to get spade. Whatever. At the moment our house and extended families are in various stages of illness/quarantine/holed up. But thankfully we are all alive. This Christmas will be like Thanksgiving - virtual. Stay safe people and smile behind those masks, twinkling eyes can be seen and are appreciated. ♥

It got very scary here for awhile too. Or local hospital was literally unable to get patients feed for entire days because they were packed. It's a different kind of Christmas but we are very thankful for what we have this year.

Hi everyone, yeah it's been a real crazy year. Lockdown situation which we all find Ourselves In. Yeah I know this COVID19 is bad , I can sympathise with pepple who have had it. 4 members of my family have had it, a lady that my son worked with had it & unfortunately she passed away. One of my grandsons was hospitalized with it. Fortunately his brother had it but not as bad.
Has we come to the end of this year
      I hope that 2021 is Filled with Love,Joy,Peace &Hope
      MERRY Christmas to everyone
      Blessings to all.
      Love Jen xxxx

@@FiberLoveDiary That is insane! It hasnt gotten that bad here Colorado has done pretty good, my boss is super sick though and has been out of work for a month and a half. He is on Oxygen 24/7 he took the Oxygen off just long enough to change and his O2 level dropped to 82. In Colorado anything below 90 is bad news. He has fluid in his chest cavity, double lung infection and two blood clots in his right lung. Just rewatched this awesome video and this technique worked so perfectly on a Romney batt i made on my drum carder using flicked locks. So fabulous!
I also have a huge smile on my face from seeing Luther. Aside from color he is the spitting image of my sweet Charlie whom i miss every day. I want to borrow him for a weekend LOL!

I just just finished the nightshift shawl. I don't knit much, I usually crochet. Now I'm learning to spin, just got my first wheel. I have a blending board and love it. Watching you make batts with a drum carder makes me want one of those also. The batt is so beautiful

First of all, thanks for the joining lesson. And second, Heaven's Gate massacre happened a few miles from my home on my daughter's 5th birthday. Love learning from you.

Oh my gosh! That's crazy. Honestly I don't know why all cults fascinate me like they do, but it's something I just can't wrap my brain around, so I keep trying to understand, I guess!

Thanks youtube algorithm for leading me here!! I LOVED that Heaven's Gate documentary (totally my genre of docs), and the Magician's Nephew was a very good read - I got sucked into the series for sure. OH! And your fiber work is phenomenal :-D

Thanks for showing us how you use a diz! That was fascinating. Also the plying splice, I struggle with those sometimes.
I just pulled two scarves and a hand towel (leftover warp, lol) off my Beka 22" rigid heddle, and I'm learning how to spin with my homemade drop spindle and a bag of mill ends from Blue Moon, but I'm taking a break from those to crochet some potholders my mom wants for Christmas. Plus there's the Hue Shift Afghan in progress, and the plying I've got on the spindle wheel, and...
