...and to know that both *'BLACK RAIN'* and *'COLD BITCH'* were either partially or fully recorded during the 'Badmotorfinger' sessions (then separately released, included in the outtakes - "Super Deluxe" set, etc.). Imagine how over the top the original/indelible 1991 album release would have been if 'Black Rain' and 'Cold Bitch' had been part of the already great tracklisting! Even better for certain...🎸⚡🗣🎶🎙🥁⚡🎸
Badmotorfinger will always be my favorite Soundgarden album. Superunknown might have their biggest hits and is their most diverse album, but BDM is way more consistent and technical. The music press and critics at the time were blind by Ten and Nevermind, and thats why BDM didnt get the attention those 2 had.
you know when you spelled BDM i could not help but to think of MDB as MY DYING BRIDE in reverse XD trust me it is also a great underrated Doom Metal band from England
Thank you so much for putting this up. It's so hard to find things like this. Most bands are over explained. Soundgarden is not. Grunge is so underappreciated for what it was,and not studied. Music from different bands that sounded nothing like each other but shared a common name.
Bob Black , I agree with you. Just one more point to mention. Even though these bands as far as style sounded nothing alike they did share something that was the same. Most of these bands were recorded by Subpop or by Jack Endino. So, the recording equipment , recording technique and acoustics etc. we're the exact same. In the beginning of these recording studios, well they didn't have alot of money so they tended to generate alot of the same overall recording quality that each band shared. The SEATTLE SOUND.
I love how Chris Cornell is just walking around backstage looking lost with his guitar...lol. Kind of feels like a Spinal Tap movie clip or something...
I was born in DC in 1971 …my parents were both 20 when I was born which meant from day 1 I had access to great music, all kinds…..I’m 52 now & it’s become clear with no doubt whatsoever “Badmotorfinger” is my favorite record of all time in any genre 🖤it changed my life 😳🤯🤤
LOL at "In english it should be OUTSHONE". I love Outshined since I was a kid and since I'm french I never realized this was a deliberate grammatical error until Chris pointed at it.
You're all wrong and so is Chris. Both "outshined" and "outshone" are correct. It depends on past, present or future tense. Present: "I'm feeling outshined" Past: "I felt outshone"
People used to have such an ability to just talk about stuff in detail. The way they are just calmly talking and explaining. I never see that any more. It’s actually very rare to find people who can just discuss something in depth in a normal way.
This is great to hear them all reflecting on this amazing piece of music, badmotorfinger holds a special place in my heart it will always be one of my favorite albums ♥
BassistAar in fact, Layne comes next. But Cornell has as much technique as Layne, and still has a greater variety, so I say that Chris is the best ... Although he understands that many opt for Layne, after all are two geniuses and certainly the biggest vocals of the scene.
Jesus Christ, the Layne Staley fanboys are so annoying. They creep on every Chris Cornell's vids comments section trying to bring him down. I like the guy, he was great at what he did, he had his lane but Cornell was on a whole another level as a singer/songwriter, he exploded the lanes.
Starting at 28:49, I can’t stop laughing! It’s a huge corrective on the Seattle rock scenes being dour and depressing when I remember a lot of humor and lighthearted moments.
Wow! What an absolute treasure this video is! This is one of my favourite albums from one of my favourite bands. Awesome to hear this level of insight on the writing and recording of every single song!
33:50: "If only we could ask Chris- ", "Yeah, where is Chris?"- has a whole different impact, now..... If anyone has seen the dynamic between a narc and the sensitive people they tend to target, then you may recognize the situation. And he was ready to get on with his life, not leave it. I love listening to this video, hearing their voices. (jenn)
🙃 the way the video ended , with glorious SG Guild Guitar just sitting there glowing above the stage in it's Enigmatic pale beauty yeah i adore SG and love my BLACK Gibson SG
Oh my Gawd! I love these guys so much I can't stand it! I was born in 1970 on Uncle Dave Macon's land in Readyville, TN and grew up with the Grand Ol' Opry of the 1970s-80s but, when I heard Soundgarden for the first time in 1988 I fell in love immediately and became their #1 Hillbilly Fan ever.
oh yeah this Belmont always keeps his Guitar tuned Drop 'B' cos you know is a Goth Doom Metal 'B'elmont thing you know? i also may add that LOUDER THAN LOVE is one of the greatest next to old Badmotorfinger is just amazing how well both can mix together
Imagine if beinhorn produced this album, I think black rain and cold bitch would have replaced a couple of the lesser tracks on here and the mix would have been epic.
SueCalico , this show is from the Louder Than Love tour. July 2, 1990. At Espace Ornano, Paris France. The most footage I've found of this is called ( My Dinner with Soundgarden ) just type that in youtube search.
Kim, Chris, Terry (Producer) Been, but I know Chris voice anywhere, without seeing him, it was so sexy, and charismatic, also that Pacific Northwest accent.
Jesus Christ Pose is one of the best heavy metal songs ever!! Miss you Chris!
That song to me was Soundgarden at their apex….they were def firing on all cylinders on that track
Rusty Cage 1:30
Outshined 5:34
Jesus Christ Pose 11:10
Slaves & Bulldozers 13:15
Face Polution 19:40
Somewhere 23:18
Searching 26:20
Room a 1000 Years Wide 29:50
Mind Riot 33:00
Drawing Flies 36:05
Holy Water 38:25
New Damage 40:50

I’ve always felt really strongly that they should have been on the album.
Yup, would have been even more classic.
This is arguably the greatest ‘grunge’ record. It’s flawless.
Yes... My favorite record of all time
Badmotorfinger will always be my favorite Soundgarden album. Superunknown might have their biggest hits and is their most diverse album, but BDM is way more consistent and technical. The music press and critics at the time were blind by Ten and Nevermind, and thats why BDM didnt get the attention those 2 had.
Who cares about technical - it's dark and heavy as hell and has massive grooves and insane vocals. And the abbreviated title would be be BMF, not BDM.
Great album, but horrible bass drum on it, so tinny and less bombastic.
I have a Badmotorfinger tattoo
you know when you spelled BDM i could not help but to think of MDB as
MY DYING BRIDE in reverse
XD trust me it is also a great underrated Doom Metal band from England
I was already into them before Badmotorfinger.... this album BLEW ME AWAY

Ashley S. They had the same muddy raw sound, but what they played was nothing like each other.
DefLeppard1221 , yup, that's what I say ^.
Grunge is so underappreciated?! Lol, if u say so.
I love how Chris Cornell is just walking around backstage looking lost with his guitar...lol. Kind of feels like a Spinal Tap movie clip or something...
He was always half in another world.
HELLO CLEVELAND
He was soul searching thinking about haunted hand jobs and such religious memories
I discovered Badmotorfinger the same week I heard Nevermind for the 1st time. Glorious Rock & Roll music!
I also love the old school MTV footage. Back when MTV was still fun to watch
Back when MTV was actually M(usic)TV.
MTV still exist???? 😂😂😂😂😂
I love this so much, loved when kim said "They are part of our can't dance hits" haha reminded me so much of his young self in 91.
I was born in DC in 1971 …my parents were both 20 when I was born which meant from day 1 I had access to great music, all kinds…..I’m 52 now & it’s become clear with no doubt whatsoever “Badmotorfinger” is my favorite record of all time in any genre 🖤it changed my life 😳🤯🤤

mate i'm australian and also a 4th year english major and i was today years old when i realised it wasn't grammatical English.
deadstar44 lol c'est la même chose pour moi. Français et je ne savais pas non plus jusqu'à ce moment !

Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 SOUNDGARDEN on your 2020 Hall of Fame nomination.

Agreed, great point.
Thank you so much for this! This is fantastic & phenomenal! Rest In Peace Chris Cornell!
Just awesome. I could listen to Chris all day.Your truly A Legend.Forever missed Never Forgotten.Justice for Chris Cornell.
angela Davis Never get enough Chris Cornell!! One of a kind now and forever! So hard to accept what has happened to this beautiful soul💔
There is all four guys .. stop with this bs...
@@GreatestVievv The bullshit, is TRUE bullshit! Wake the fuck up and understand that he was murdered 😡.
RIP
Terry Date did a hell of a job on this record just like he did on Mother Love Bone “Apple.”
Terry Date was one of the best producers of the 90s. Helped get some great material out of great bands
RIP Chris Cornell
RIP Andrew Wood
And just like he did on Vulgar Display Of Power and Far Beyond Driven.
This is absolute gold. Thank you for uploading!
This is great to hear them all reflecting on this amazing piece of music, badmotorfinger holds a special place in my heart it will always be one of my favorite albums ♥
Bad Motorfinger had so much fucking groove. I can't get over how hard it swings.
This is so important - thank you. Chris....
Chris Cornell, best vocal grunge.
Anderson Wallace layne Staley actually
BassistAar in fact, Layne comes next. But Cornell has as much technique as Layne, and still has a greater variety, so I say that Chris is the best ... Although he understands that many opt for Layne, after all are two geniuses and certainly the biggest vocals of the scene.
Layne was amazing, but couldn't touch Chris. Vocally or musically.
I dont think so @BassistAar . Layne was good , but nothing can be compared to Chris , he was a fucking monster on stage , and making songs.
Best rock album ever. From beginning to end every song is solid. Ive found no other complete album that has that
I always wonder who Chris gives the thumbs up to in Good Eye,that must’ve been awesome for that person
That "Searching" story about The speak and spell is hilarious.
Starting at 28:49, I can’t stop laughing!
It’s a huge corrective on the Seattle rock scenes being dour and depressing when I remember a lot of humor and lighthearted moments.
@@cremetangerine82 thank you for this time mark.. my fave song on it
"We're playing Slaves and Bulldozers" yes little kid, yes we are!!!
I love Chris kind sweet friendly voice

Another awesome reaction/review. The world is a better place with you guys!!
So much camaraderie and mutual respect between them.
THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME IS NAMED SOUNDGARDEN.
When you're Chris Cornell and you were just f'ing GORGEOUS in every way..
All women care about
Not all. But he was such a beautiful man in so many ways. Its hard not to notice.
I love how the camera follows Kim and Chris having a Spinal Tap "lost in the halls" moment 😂
badmotorfinger is my favorite soundgarden album i love rust cage outshined and jesus christ pose
It's actually my second favorite Soundgarden album. Superunknown is my all time favorite 😀
This is excellent -- thanks.
This is so awesome.
Man! They were so young! 💙
Look at matt!
Imagine being the kid who created this game (slaves and bulldozers) and have a song named after it. That would be such a trip
I wonder if he knows! It'd be cool to hear him talk about it :)
I wonder if that’s real? Or if Satan had a hand ✋? But I’m a non-believer after after learning about the Tavistock Institute brain washing
Gosh Chris is just a pure magic human being. Even his hair is magic.
Thank You for posting
Super interesting. Thank you so much
This is great man, thanks.
I fondly remember playing Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and listening to a room A Thousand Years wide and just being so scared LOL
slaves and bulldozers Will always be my favorite.
Ditto
What make it more special is that It's the last song that Chris sang
beyond the wheel he got 8 octaves, such a monster...
Chris has a lovely speaking voice as well as his singing voice 💜
RIP Chris Cornell
Another genius icon gone way too soon 😢😭💔

My personal favorite of the early 90's Seattle scene bands! RIP Mr. Cornell 👍
Best grunge album ever made by a mile, imo
Badmotorfinger was the Master Of Reality of the 90s
It’s definitely on my top 20 list of favorite albums.

Hill Billy Sabbath lmao 😂
Must be why Johnny Cash dug it :)

Brilliant-
Mightve been grunge but theyre definitely children of Sabbath
great footage
I have the soundgarden badmotorfinger t-shirt 🤘
Slaves is the 3rd song...at least on my copy.
first full album i ever heard
I may have missed it if they said it, but where is this from? Anyone know?
Where is this interview from and who's interviewing them?
I'd love to know, too
Matt dancing at 26:30! 😂
What's the source for this interview? Anybody knows?
Imagine if beinhorn produced this album, I think black rain and cold bitch would have replaced a couple of the lesser tracks on here and the mix would have been epic.
I still like louder than love the best but badmoterfinger is awesome
Sounds like Rick Beato is giving some input
Thanks!!
Badmotorfinger has so many Andy Wood influences.

These dudes talking. is it all of them or just 2 of the musicians ? is this Chris speaking? Thank you.👍
Kim, Chris, Terry (Producer) Been, but I know Chris voice anywhere, without seeing him, it was so sexy, and charismatic, also that Pacific Northwest accent.
It's all of them at some points.
I couldn't hear Matt's voice. They all seemed to speak as if he wasn't there.
Cool
its cool and all but he dosent really explain the story behind rusty cage like what does it mean ? how did he come up with it ?
Is Ben there? Or is it just Chris and Kim?
