"Islamophobia is now being normalized": Sadiq Khan talks to Mehdi about Gaza and Trump

  • Most mayors of cities aren’t internationally known. But London Mayor Sadiq Khan gained global attention in 2016 when he became the first Muslim to lead a major Western capital. And then Donald Trump got into a very public feud with him, calling Khan a ‘stone cold loser’ among other things. Now, Khan’s one of the most well-known politicians in the world and is now running for his third term.
From Islamophobia and climate change to inner-party politics and Israel’s war in Gaza, Khan has faced many challenges in his two terms, but he’s always been outspoken about his experiences and his steadfast positions. Now, on May 2, when voters go to the polls in local elections, Khan is facing an uphill battle… and could lose to MAGA-style candidate Susan Hall.
Watch this special interview for Mehdi Unfiltered, where Mehdi sat down with Sadiq Khan in London.
Watch PART 2 of the interview for more on his election opponent, Keir Starmer and the Labour Party, and his controversial ULEZ scheme here: • Sadiq Khan on ULEZ and...

it is funny how you think , Sudan in civil war supported by Saudi and UAE , Yemen was bombed by Saudi and allies and over 400,000 Yemeni civilians died , Pakistan expelled thousands of Afghans , Taliban is taking Afghanistan to middle ages , Syria is supported by Iran and the civil war made it a dysfunctional state ,and etc , but the minute Israel is involved , the crying machine turns on. Look at the Muslim countries and tell me any functional one except the oil rich countries who have free money.Western nations too millions of Syrians and Egypt cant even handle Gazans , start criticizing your self first , and religion is proved to be fictions story which results in nothing but suffering

@user-hi2ul2vs8b fair point about those other wars but it's not the minute Israel is involved, Israel has been involved in ethnic cleansing, stealing homes and land, controlling and open air prison aka Gaza. Don't say its not because with Israel limiting who and what can and can't go into Gaza it's quite clear. A lot of us have known for years how Israel have been treating Palestinians, it's just now the rest of the world is opening its eyes to it

We aren't clamping down on the Irish slogan "Our day will come", even though the IRA co-opted it.
We aren't clamping down on Ukrainians saying "Glory to Ukraine", even though there are some neo-Nazis who use that phrase.
We certainly don't care about all the massacres and genocides that have been committed in the name of "King and Country".
Nationalistic slogans are just that - slogans. "From the river to the sea" has many interpretations (including if you are Likkud!). This is a simple issue of free speech.

There was extensive censorship of the Irish during the Thatcher years including using a voice actor with a higher voice pitch to represent Gerry Adam's speech. Our rights to protest, along with freedom of speech are under attack as a result of the fallout. I watched how you and fellow coworkers were "benched" at MSNBC and how seemingly acknowledging the occupation of the Palestinians is now deemed anti-semetic. Now I've gone on a deep dive into how the land came to be, etc and it is fascinating. How can I not want the Palestinian people to be free of Israeli occupation? Who can justify such a thing? Its very telling to have people rail against sending money to help Ukraine under the guise of "America First", yet have no problem sending billions to Israel to wage war on women and children. how about asking your self why Islam never produced any stable nation , look at Pakistan , Syria , Libya , Somlai , Sudan , Turkmenistan , Lebanon , Gaza etc. Why Turkey is technologically inferior even if it is next to Europe and never made even one usable authentic tech product. All religions ultimately give a reason for destruction , the world gave us many such examples but people only see what they want to see , and sorry to say it Muslim nations only see the positive and not the negative and criticism starts from own backyard .Islam like all religions has issues and we are in 2024 , we have AI and we can ask how many religions exist which claim to be true :) all of them are stories , humanity is hopeless , hope aliens come and give us a lesson :) :)

@@paultoseland9524 everbody lies these days. If you don't lie, you dont have an audience and hence become irrelevant. it is a shame, but you see this on every level and on all issues.... you can say any crazy thing...as long as it fits the boundries drawn by google and apple etc.
Anytime i listed facts ( just facts not my opinions) I have listed things readily awailable on wikipedia about this conflict and they ger deleted. I remember in covid period....... i just copy pasted the data from health agencies and within 2 minutes they were deleted. One data i remember got deleted 10 times on multiple platforms was the average age of people who died of the disease ... which surprisingly was about 1,5-2 years higher than the regular life expectancy in my country. Mind you it was the official government figures ( later they stopped providing these data ) lol
yOU see the same in transgender issue.... 2 extremist gangs, going at it lol Both are wrong..... but if you MAKE SENSE.... YOU HAVE NO AUDIENCE.
BTW i personally dislike both these guys... mehdi and sadiq. Have trouble even listening to their BS

Khan should have had Stammers job and Lammy should have had Khans job. Stammer should have been the leader of the Tory party.
But instead we got the Situation we got.
