In this episode of Real Talk, we caught up with the mayor to speak about tackling Islamophobia, Muslim representation in the UK, and his feud with Donald Trump.

How many Christians & jews are represented in Muslim countries? Can Christians & jews preach their religion publicly to Muslims in Muslim countries? Don't they criminalize if a non Muslim attempt to convert a Muslim to Christianity/Judaism? Don't they criminalize apostasy? Don't they have blasphemy laws? Are Muslim countries secular?

@@jj-yi1ne that is the problem. It exposes hypocrisy of muslims. Muslims wants west & other non Muslim countries to be secular but wants Muslim countries to be non secular. Because freedom of religion is only for muslims.
10% of MENA population is Christian, generations, absolutely protected and given ability to try by their laws (Sharia). In Islam, Christians and Jews are considered brothers and sisters, as per of the People of the Book (ie the continuation of the primordial religion and Abrahamic religion). Do you know that Muslim Palestinian Arabs still hold the keys to the main churches in Jerusalem ie they are the custodians. As for the Jewish community, read works on how Islam saved Jewry from restoring Jewish population in Jerusalem by Caliph Omar, to revivalism of Maimonides (Rambam) in Muslim Spain and later Cairo. Hebrew was a dying language and exists today because Arabic lexicons can be used to determine meanings of Hebrew (due to Semitic language structure being similar). Modern Zionist state and displacement of Palestinians (Christian and Muslim) who are genetically highly mixed but the original Canaanites is a modern day issue based on Western colonization. Read works by Norman Finkelstein, Miko Peled, Noam Chomsky. Palestinians were not called Palestinians until British Empire took the Holy Land from Ottomans, so this label is modern day label and should be dropped. It is Sham by region (The Levant).

If Christians & jews were considered as bro & sis in Islam, then why Quran says the following - surah 98:6 - jews and Christians are the worst of the creature. Quran 7 :166, 5 :60, 2 :65 - Allah turned jews into apes and pigs. Quran 9 :30 - may Allah destroy jews and Christians. Quran 5 :51 - do not take Christians and jews as friends/allies. Sahih Muslim 41 :6985 says about future genocide of jews going to commit by Muslims. And what about hindus? Buddhist? Sikhs? Jain? Zoroastrians? Yazidi? Bahai? Druze? Athiest? Are they also your bro & sis? Jews were protected by Muslims inorder to counter Christians as Christians consider jews to be the killer of Jesus. There are also many circumstances in which muslims treated jews like shit. You were trained to cherry pick like in the case of jerusalem under Omar & Spain under Muslims. Do you know that Muslims implemented discriminatory dress code for the jews living in the caliphate? Do you know that Muslims implemented jizya to non Muslims? Do you know that Muslims established Islamic supremacy over other religions and Muslims were 1st class & non Muslims were 2nd class citizens? Even idris 1 of morroco demanded Jewish women as concubines if they want to live in morroco.

Major city in Europe yes, but many Mayors of Boroughs across the UK have had Mayors who are Muslim for decades. Britain is still one of the most tolerant, pleural and cohesive places in the world. Islamophobia does exist, and despite it, people are fair-minded and open. Candidates should be judged on merit. In Britiain, you will still get that chance. Offer hope and reach out to others with authenticity and love. It will overcome all the Islamophobia. See Liverpool’s historic links to Islam and how difficult and Islamophobic it became. Mo Salah and Sadio Mane won the hearts of Liverpudlians. Hate crimes down and there are even football songs about becoming Muslim. This is the best of Britain! Still a great place with great people with a great heart! We will always beat the haters with ihsan (excellence) with actions. As Platu said beauty is the splendor of truth.

The elections of Sadiq Khan prove that ethnicity is no longer a hindrance to top office in the UK, but being a believing and practising Muslim definitely still is.
Naturally, and fast-forward a few years when he urgently needed political support to get into office, Khan needed to make a grand statement to reject his Muslimness to garner votes. His solution? Well, and despite the unambiguously sinful nature of homosexuality in Islam across its sectarian divide, he became the first mayoral candidate in 2015 to sign the so-called “Pride in London” pledge for the LGBT community.
Because UK is not an Islamic state ruled by sharia law. It is a secular Democracy in which all communities can live & coexist.
