Thanks for the grate video, sadly our next flight to BKK is not Finnair for us. The shortest time is 29 hours so hopefully the change there flight schedule in april 2023
Thanks a lot for making this super useful vdo! I'm thinking a lot about booking the flight Norway-Helsinki- Bangkok, and the time for transition at Helsinki is only 1.10 hrs. , just wondering and worrying at the same time if I would manage to catch the other flight on time or not. ^^"
If no delays, 1 hour will be enough. If there are long queues at the passport control, just look for the ground staff, and they will let you jump the queue. Here is a video about transit from Schengen to Non- Schengen ( Norway - Bangkok) . In this video I did the transit in 11 minutes :) But it always depends on the arrival and departure gate. th-cam.com/video/WXM1S_32l5o/w-d-xo.html
@@JustinThailand wondering why there is no option to transfer into schengen area behind security after landing like you can do when you transfer from schengen to a non-schengen flight
Thanks Justine. I also fly from non-schengen to helsinki, and have 45 minutes for connecting flight in helsink. Do you think it is manageable? Thanks Justine.
Yes, if no delays, you should be ok :) If you are running late, just tell the ground staff at the passport control and they will let you pass the queue, but they will check your boarding pass :) And remember, if your travel is under 1 ticket, it is the airlines responsibility to get you to your final destination, so if you miss your flight, just contact the service desk, and they will find the next available flight for you :)
@@subhamdebbarma Yes, if its the airlines fault that you miss your connecting flight, they will rebook you for free to next available flight, if your travel is under 1 ticket. If you have to stay overnight, they have to provide hotel also for free :) Normally I will fix this by myself, and get a refund from the airline.
I noticed on flightradar when fliying an A350, i arrives at the non schengen area from a schengen country. Would that mean no security checks? My connecting flight is also from the non schengen area. Thanks.
Ok, so if you arrive from Schengen, and departing from Non-Schengen, you will have to go through the passport control since you are leaving Schengen-area. If the plane from Schengen arrive and docks at Non-Schengen, they will probably guide you too the Schengen area so you can pass through the passport control since everyone leaving or entering Schengen have to go through the passport control. But, leaving Schengen or doing a transit inside Schengen area, there will be no security check.
Very fast and efficient, sadly due to the closure of russian airspace less people are going to be able to use this handy and fast connection between Europe and Asia. Helsinki airport is beautiful and I'm sure that the part now in renovation (near the end of the video) will become too, altough right now it's very clear it's still under construction.
I will be traveling from Delhi to Vaasa and I have a 1 hour layover at Helsinki. Do I have to move from the non-Schengen area to the Schengen transfer area at Helsinki for my Vaasa flight?
Hello, I am holding a Vietnamese passport and I will fly from Kuala Lumpur to Portugal, transit at Helsinki airport. As I saw on your video you had to go through passport control, right? But I only have 1-time entry and my destination must be Lisbon Portugal. What should i do now? I bought the ticket already hjx :( Anyone faced with this experience pls share with me. Thank you
Hmm.... not sure, if no delays or other issues, it's doable, men 35 minutes can be short transit time if something happens. So I can give you any guarantees. If you bought the ticket under 1 travel, they are responsible for getting you to your final destination. So if you miss your flight, they will book you on the next available flight.
Hi I'm intending to fly from england to rovaniemi, passing through helsinski with a 1 hour 10 minute layover...Do you think that's enough time given I'm coming from a non schengen zone? Thanks in advance
Very informative, thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much :)
Now there is two new lounges on Schengen area. Business and Platinum
Gate 21 seems familiar, I might have flown from that gate to Oulu as you did. 🙂
This is a very useful video esp if have 1+ hours connecting flight. Where are you heading to at Gate 21?
I was heading to Oslo :)

Yes, its manageable. If crowded and you running late at the passportcontrol, just contact the ground staff there.

yes, I think that will be enough. Helsinki is an easy airport to navigate. So if no delays, you will be fine :)
