Totally agree, he's not a impact player during the regular season! There's other Goodrows out there who might make an impact on both the regular season and playoffs.
We all remember what Drury said last season he got rid of a coach because of complaints. he said NO EXCUSES next season. I remember that quote to the team and they failed so now they pay the price.. GET TUFF DRURY
Contracts for Igor and Laff should be priority as far as players they have now.

I approve of the move by Drury. Although I Loved the effort from Barclay Goodrow in the playoffs, and I didn't want to see him go, the rangers had to make a decision that cleared up some cap.
Who gives a crap if he's not happy. These athletes get me sick with thinking THEY ALWAYS have to be treated better than everybody else. Drury is running a business and sometimes tough choices need to be made and feelings will get hurt. Well that's part of the business they're in and is why they make the BIG MONEY they make. Good for Drury for playing hard ball what was he suppose to do when the team didn't produce give them all raises?

Unfortunately this is fixing a wrong to right imo. I know the thought was to bring in Cup experience, but to me I was really never sold on giving him that length of contract to begin with. I honestly would give this team 1 or maybe 2 chances, if nothing done by this upcoming season or the following season then I would do a complete rebuild. Kreider gone, Panarin gone, Trouba gone...etc
The odd thing is the Rangers want to get bigger and heavier, and the main guy fans want to dump are Goodrow and Trouba. But unloading that contract is masterclass GMing.
We need grittier hard nose players that actually produce , goodrow and trouba price vs production is way off . We need more than size and weight.
You need bigger physical players. Let me ask???? How do other teams do it. It’s called changing the culture, thru the draft. Whatever they have done in the draft, do the complete opposite.
Mika needs to be gone next than trouba

This necessary move is a spine tingling message to these Rangers. The goal is to win the cup. This current roster players are content with just playing a regular game and getting paid
Your absolutely right with chytil I will say tho I won’t be suprised if he’s here to start season cuz his value is prob lowest it’s been in a while cuz the concussions and Trouba and kakko go without saying if you can move both basically just for cap reasons you should they are all very easily replaceable with more useful players imo
Glad Goodrow is gone ONLY bc of his contract. Personally i believe he wasnt utilized correctly especially in his first 2 seasons under Gallant 😒. Im done with Kakko and Trouba. Im really excited to see if we get that "Elite" top RWer and id like to see Zadorov in our Dcore. Last thing... id love to see Cuylle Edstrom Rempe 4th line next season. Hope all 3 are working on their faceoffs ☝️🔵⚪️🔴

We can't have a 2 players only top line! Drury has to fix that, he has to stop throwing away assets too, especially if it's to aquire injured players past their prime (Kane), and although I hate to suggest it maybe trading players like Lindgren and Chytil for the type of impact players we need to give the "core" impact players is what needs to happen? Basically, don't just move guys out, get top value for them!
Hear me out this would be ideal next moves imo for drury :
Resign Schneider
Trade kakko and lindgrens rights for a top pair/top 4 left D man like chychrun, Theadore, montour
Buyout Chytil (look into it it’s kinda a no brainer as ruthless as it may be but I don’t care I wanna win) or trade a 1st to Colorado with chytil for Ross Colton and Avs can buy him out to get their needed cap space.
Sign a Geuntzel, Stamkos, Marchessault, Reinhardt, Toffoli or whoever as long as it’s a good top line option and full out the rest of lineup with a depth guy or 2 who can kill penalties for cheap
Denote Trouba full time to 3rd pair with a 3rd pair D man from FA or jones or maybe lindgren if he takes a discount but I’d prefer if he goes he’s dragging down Fox in every way
Othmann, sykora and the picks should all be on the block to get a team built b4 the start of next season no more of this let’s find the piece at the deadline to put us over the edge.
Also I would consider bringing Wennberg back if he takes a discount as the 4C or 3rd line depth.
These changes are what the team needs trading kakko, lindgren, and chytil/ Buying him out are honestly no brainer for drury you can completely change the team and make it so much better with all that cap space

kakko doesnt cost much but he's a bust time to move on I'd get rid of him. Chytil too. His numbers have never been that good plus he's injury prone.

If Goodrow didnt want to be dropped he should have been playing better. Same goes for Kreider, Mika, and Trouba. They are all on notice. the no trade clause dont mean a thing.
my comments: TBL was 18m over the cap.... id def call that ruthless. imho kakko was signed to be traded...so i expect that to happen at the draft. dont stop at goodrow ... trouba, lindgren gloves are off now.
(i liked goody as a player but for 4th C he was just too costly. i did not like the buyout structure but to get SJ to take on the full contract is great work by drury.)
Imho as long as panarin laf trocheck (statisticly one of the best lines in hockey last season) fox igor are a core... nyr will be a playoff team. restructure around that.

Loved Goodrow but 3.6M to use is awesome. Need that money. Drury is absolutely doing great. No crying aloud. Again , I like Barclay and will miss him but this is business.
I hope he’s ruthless with Mika and gets him out. Mika looks miserable so maybe he wants out.
I think we got Kakko for too cheap .. I wouldn't trade him yet .. If he don't break out THIS year though .. I give up
As a die hard rangers fan I’m gonna say something that’s gonna piss a lot of rangers fans off.. Most rangers fans are the dumbs fans in all of sports.. there loyal to the players instead of the team I don’t care what players are on this team as long as they win.. I was heart broken in 94 when they traded my favorite player Mike Gartner but got over it really quick when they won. They also think that they can trade 4 dead weight guys that no one wants for a super star I see some of these trades that fans come up with and can’t stop laughing. I love the rangers not the players on it if get rid of a fan favorite for guys that can help the team win I’m all about it.
