He told me that in one part of the factory, giant slabs of just-off-white-heat slabs of aluminium were rolling along on the roller conveyor line. A guy who was new to the factory was being shown around. Aluminium at that heat looks cool. It does not glow like iron. His protective clothing did not let him feel the dangerous heat, so when he accidentally sat on one of those slabs there was an immediate explosion of pink steam and only the bottom part of his legs remained.
@@gregoryford2532 The aluminium may "only" get to 660C, but there is so much stored energy in an ingot that it will instantly turn an entire erson's body fluids to vapour. 20 degrees would actually be cold. I live in America, so I don't know Celsius very well, but most pools are around 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and 20 degrees Celsius is 68 degrees Fahrenheit.
+Ava Nicole well, just in case you want to know (I'm from Europe and moved to the US a year ago so I'm very familiar with both systems, plus I'm studying chemistry), to find the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit, you need to multiply the temperature in Celsius by 1.8, after that you add 32, to do from Fahrenheit to Celsius just subtract 32 from the temperature in Fahrenheit and then divide by 1.8
The problem with the most dangerous animal charts is they say something is dangerous based on how many people die. Not by stuff like what makes them angry the percentage of them getting angry or whatever the percentage of survival when put in these conditions etc.
VSauce: “If you took a human, stripped them naked, and left them in an environment of 0 degrees celsius, they would die in 20 minutes...” Canada: “Hold my beer.”
The math for the murder rate segment makes zero sense. If 274 people out of 3500 were murdered that would be a murder rate of 7.8 percent, or 78,000 out of each million, not 1490. No idea how he arrived at that.
At the end of the videos, when you say “and as always” I switch to another video “hey Vsauce, Michael here” so It says “And as always, hey! Vsauce, Michael here.”
Funny, I'm now rewatching a lot of these i haven't watched in years. I had bought a house in 2015 that needed some work. When it came to repainting several large rooms I discovered the channel a day before or so. Yeah. Its was quite a binge. Lmao. Like 2 entire days of painting and watch/listening to all 3 channels. Cozy memories.
Sorry if I'm mistaken, but the math at 7:35 seems wrong. 274 is roughly 7,8% of 3500 - shouldn't this amount to 78.000 murders per million inhabitants? Or the other way around: 1.000.000/3500 equals about 285; 285 times 274 equals 78.090
@@johanngrunholz6412 the problem is you are looking at total murders that occurred. Not murder rate which is murders per year so divide by number of years the show ran.
He also throws a tank of propane into a volcano, and has a video of himself in a heat-resistant, protective suit, at the ledge of the inner most crater of a boiling cauldron of lava. Bubbles popping a few meters below and spattering the walls in places that look higher than where he is at. Geoff Mackey, the dudes a straight up savage.

So if my oven is 5 degrees Celsius then is lava 20 degrees? Sounds nice, I would love to swim in that
Your oven must suck.
20 degrees would actually be cold. I live in America, so I don't know Celsius very well, but most pools are around 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and 20 degrees Celsius is 68 degrees Fahrenheit.
+Ava Nicole well, just in case you want to know (I'm from Europe and moved to the US a year ago so I'm very familiar with both systems, plus I'm studying chemistry), to find the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit, you need to multiply the temperature in Celsius by 1.8, after that you add 32, to do from Fahrenheit to Celsius just subtract 32 from the temperature in Fahrenheit and then divide by 1.8
+Ava Nicole lol then if you don't know about something just learn about it

The problem with the most dangerous animal charts is they say something is dangerous based on how many people die. Not by stuff like what makes them angry the percentage of them getting angry or whatever the percentage of survival when put in these conditions etc.
Exactly. There are only so many people in Australia.

The math for the murder rate segment makes zero sense. If 274 people out of 3500 were murdered that would be a murder rate of 7.8 percent, or 78,000 out of each million, not 1490. No idea how he arrived at that.

His transitions are so legendary
Sorry if I'm mistaken, but the math at 7:35 seems wrong. 274 is roughly 7,8% of 3500 - shouldn't this amount to 78.000 murders per million inhabitants? Or the other way around: 1.000.000/3500 equals about 285; 285 times 274 equals 78.090
i drew this conclusion aswell im not sure how the math works, but its vsauce so i trust it
You’re forgetting that rate is per year and the show lasted many years.
@@74ace468 I don't quite folllow, the rate remains the same, no matter how many years, doesn't it?
@@johanngrunholz6412 the problem is you are looking at total murders that occurred. Not murder rate which is murders per year so divide by number of years the show ran.
@@74ace468 78.090 divided by 1490 equals roughly 52 - does this mean the show ran for 52 years? Care to show me your calculation?
