Hey! Your videos are FANTASTIC! I recently followed your steps because my hot tub kept tripping the breaker. I unhooked the element, voila, it stayed on so I changed the element. I set my temperature like normal. However, now it’s heating EXTREMELY slowly. I’m talking 12 degree increase in about 48 hours. What steps would you recommend to diagnose that?

Change the sensors. Temp sensor is covered in calcium or about to go. Thats if the right element was installed. EG. 4kw or 5.5kw. Also. Whats the volts coming into the hot tub?

@@VIPPoolsandSpas apologies, i didn’t see the rest of your comment. It’s 240V. And it’s the same element type that came from the factory, so it should be correct

Take the sensor out and put in some cleaning vinegar.

@@VIPPoolsandSpas update: got the sensors cleaned off and reinstalled! I have the tub running, it started at 75 degrees and hasn’t increased any in an hour. When I turned on the power, the heating light was blinking and then it turned solid. When that happened, I did hear something in the power pack click. The hot tub continues running normally from all I can tell. Any suggestions for anything else that might be going on?

    Excellent video. Great info.
Would like to understand more control board issues, trouble shooting and repair, solenoid testing and replacement along with temperature sensors and relationships to control boards and possible error codes being displayed on different types of control board displays.
Thanks brother, keep up the good work.

A lot of times I know it's the board but can't pin point it where. Normally I get a computer repair guy to fix some of my stuff or test it. I should get a electronics guy to test things and record it. I don't have the skills to tackle the electronics repair.

The hot tub was heating fine before I drained all the water out to clean the hot tub after I fill the back up. All the pumps are working but not heating up now!

This is very common. Test your heater element. AND. Make sure you don't have an air lock.

For some reason i get no red light on the dash light its not calling for heat and its only gettin 120v to the heating element ive tested everything besides the board ?? Think thats my issue no codes

120v at the element sure sounds like a heater relay.

Hi, I have a question. My tub recently stop heating. Everything look normal. No code and motor working fine on both speed it just not heating. I checked the filter and nothing else is broken. Where do I need to look?

Chasing my tail with my tub. I can turn the tub off at the breaker, turn it back on and it will heat up to a chosen temp of say 98. after this initial heat-up it will not heat again, until I shut the power off at the breaker and start the process again. The fact that it will heat leads me to believe the element is fine, but maybe a relay is bad or something else on the board not communicating to heat again..

    • @VIPPoolsandSpas

Could be a sensor issue. Your heat sensor maybe.

    • @coreyk5536

@@walterstrikes it was a relay on my circuit board that would not close the loop to allow the heater to produce 240v. Unfortunately my boards are obsolete so I retrofitted the board and heater with a Balboa BP7 bundle.

My hot tub isn't heating. On the display board if I hit the cool button to turn it down it automatically goes back up. And stays at 104. So it shouldn't do this?
