    900k. Absolute madness.

      @paulnorman8274 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No kidding! Jeanneau is no doubt a trusted and reliable maker, but 900k 43 foot dayboats, is Ferretti Group pricing. Not saying those are necessarily "better", but they definitely have more cachet with the million-euro-dayboat set.

      @@sdoubleu210 it's strange to me because I quite like the jeanneau merry fisher and NC range because they are what they are, well designed and relatively affordable but as you say, what is this boat meant to be? 👍🇬🇧

    • @sdoubleu210
      @sdoubleu210 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cookiemonster2299 totally agreed re: other Jeanneau products. I am interested to see what the larger and smaller iterations of this platform produce as this concept may just not work at this specific size as its sort of trapped between full dayboat and express cruiser in its dimensions and doesnt seem to execute a combination of those purposes particularly well. However, even with better execution at different sizes, if the pricing is proportional, there is still stiff competition in both directions.

      Furthermore, the quality of the DB43 is far less than the F45, when you look at the engineering design and all of the small features. Princess is known for their quality and craftsmanship, while Jeanneau is known for having relatively bare bones, and affordable boats.

  • @burddog0792
    @burddog0792 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love the hull with opening side decks, and outboards in this size is an awesome feature most boats don't offer. Would love to see a version with a more liveable and practical utilitarian NC style of saloon and interior though. This is more of a super sized speedboat for warm and sunny weather.

    Does it make sense to have a life raft in that locker which you need electrical power to open, and which also takes ages to open? I'm guessing they usually store it elsewhere?

    • @RandomGuyRandomNumber
      @RandomGuyRandomNumber 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess they must usually put it in the same place they put the boarding ladder when they buy a SeaBob... I don't know where they put the stuff that was originally in the locker where the raft and boarding ladder now go, though...

    • @mambi74
      @mambi74 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOL. I'm not a boating expert, but that's the same thought that immediately came to mind once he mentioned the life-raft being kept there 🤔

    • @BillWalkerSD
      @BillWalkerSD 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought the same. There appear to be two fixed brackets in that locker for holding the life rafts.

    • @JMc.D
      @JMc.D 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The boat was likely delivered by sea for the event. It was likely put in there out of the way while the boat is on display.

    • @RandomGuyRandomNumber
      @RandomGuyRandomNumber 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JMc.D So when at sea, the life raft is placed somewhere that is not "out of the way" ? You mean it is placed somewhere that is actually IN THE WAY ? One's choice is to have the life raft accesible, but obstructing normal operation of the boat and susceptible to damage, or squirelled away in a locker that cannot be opened without power assistance and is only accesible from the bathing platform upon which a tender (that only weighs 150 kgs and is less than a metre long) is stored ?
      This yacht was not designed for use at sea. It was designed to appear in a glossy catalogue.

    150 kg platform capacity - why have one if it is that small?
    Life raft in the electric operated boot, that seems kinda silly.
    Mid deck cabin has nice size, but that headroom is woof.
    last the price - don't see this "jumping off the shelves" so to speak.

    This I guess is for people that buy off of brand loyalty only and not really over quality and practicality. Like for people that buy Chevy and Fiat. I'm sure this will work for a while and if you're a divorced parent getting your kids every other weekend and 2 weeks in the summer. For those that want other more practical boating, the used market, especially on Nordhavn, Benentau, and Marek is very lively

    Jeanneau boats looks very nice however the 3 year world wide coverage is misleading. I bought this boat and within 6 months had problem with the engine. I wrote emails after emails to Jeanneau and did not receive any response. The dealer just stated that my expectations were too high it usually takes many days to fix a problem like this. That is world wide coverage.

    Sorry madness, great review though, in terms of the mid cabin I would put 3 x single beds in. The boat feels like the cost is just to much. Limited range, and the engine space is rubbish. It looks a great boat but would be not my cup of tea.

    Good review, Jack....but no thank you re: the boat. I'm seeing 900K+ for one comfortable stateroom, and with good engines but running outdrives & with limited range. Lots of clever design gimmicks and all that sunbathing spacing for the iguana-like guests...but not truly functional as a sea boat, I would think.

  • @johnpeel6601
    @johnpeel6601 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great review Jack. I can't imagine why anyone would buy the DB43. There are far superior other boats at this size by branded manufacturers for this price and less. It has one very usable cabin and one that looks larger but practically unusable. I also wonder how many law suits they will receive with people breaking their ankles and legs by slipping down the gap between the 'side terraces' and the main deck, they look like a real ankle snapper. It is a shame as Jeanneau's other motor boat ranges offer good quality with generally good accommodation at affordable prices. It looks good but to many gimmicks and definitely not for me.

    A million euros for this thing? Got to be kidding me. And changing a blown genset impeller in this engine room, which happens once every season if you actually use the boat? And getting all your guests wet in beam seas, except those lucky two sitting by the helmsman? I wouldn’t even buy it as a day boat for 300K.
    This is Riva price for a badly designed, gimmicky Jeanneau. The April fools day was a month ago, and even then, this would be a very, very, very bad joke.

  • @RandomGuyRandomNumber

    Nope, not interested - there is a small section of side deck that doesn't open, close, slide, twist, turn, raise, lower, revolve, transform, flip, flop, give-us-a-twirl, left-right-chassis-chassis-left-kick-two-three...
    Shouldn't that be an option, at least ? I don't know a single Hobbit who would put up with this omission after seeing that spacious mid-cabin.
