You have excellent taste in music reacting to the legendary George Michael!!!! He was a one in a million. He was the full package. Musical God, with the talent to write all his music in his head and never wrote it down until he got into the studio. He arranged and produced his own music. He never relied on anyone but his own talent. He has won countless industry awards. He was the first white artist to get album of the year on the R&B charts. He is the youngest recipient of the Ivor Novello song writing award. Grammys, American Music awards etc.... He also did countless duets which you should absolutely check out.
Elton, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Whitney, Aretha, Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Mary J. Smokey Robinson, Quenn, Mutya Buena and even sang in all Portugues with the Iconic Astrid Gilbert. This man has been my favorite since I first saw him when he was only 19. What an amazing talent. The likes we will never see again!

He was a gem of a human being and an utter genius who was able to cross over a number of genres. His objective was for his work to outlive himself.
7 years since his death and we have people like you discovering him. Enjoy!

I was a fan when he was with Wham. I saw him in concert twice. Once in 1987 in Washington D.C. and another time in 1990 in Philadelphia. This was before he this song came out. He's a musical genius and if you love to dance or just groove smoothly and you're not listening to George Michael, you are missing out. This song is beautiful and he has so many more. But the song is about his boyfriend going out to get strange tail at night. Spinning the Wheel is a reference to Russian Roulette. His lover is taking a chance by going out and getting strange tail he may come home and get George sick as well. This was during the AIDS crisis. It's a fantastic song about quite a disturbing subject. I hope you get to enjoy more of his music.

@BrittReacts Thank you so much to getting this done, I'm so happy you like him. Would you be willing to start a journey? From beginning to sad end? George Michael could sing you the phone book. I can send you a list, in order, of his music. You can do just singles with videos or you could jump down and see how phenomenal this man was. He has a HUGE fan base, most people know his music with no clue its him. He sang, wrote lyrics, produced, played instruments, arranged... one hell of a God given raw talent. If you're willing to do this, please let me know and uh, hey... if you're still reading, you, YES YOU, like this so maybe she'll do this. His story is quite unique. I have been a fan of him for so long I don't remember a time NOT loving this man. You're going to get a barrage of people telling you his life. Some good, some bad, he was polarizing and highly misunderstood.

I remember reading that he controlled all the lighting and stage images for this concert. At the time it was the most sophisticated lighting for a concert. With the most LD lights ever. I have this on Blue Ray and it is the best! I also have the DVD which highlights the making of the concert and all behind the scenes stuff. So happy to have it. He was spectacular as a live performer. His voice was even better live. This man could hold the entire arena in the palm of his hand. I attended this concert at Madison Square and then again at the Verizon Center in WDC. When he came out, the crowd was deafening. People were screaming, crying and just carrying on! It was a sight to see. ❤

Also has some fantastic duets with, Whitney Justin, Mary j. Blige, Elton John and so many more!!

In 2007, Wembley Stadium had been renovated, and they chose George Michael to be the first music act to play at the new stadium. He did 2 shows there and I was lucky enough to be at both of them. And with George, you had to be lucky to get tickets. If he anounced a show, tickets were gone within about an hour of going on sale, no matter the size of venue. Wembley Stadium has capacity for about 70,000 for a pop concert, depending on stage layout etc I guess? Anyway, gone WAY too soon...RIP George! xxx
    P.S...Do more George Michael...you won't regret it! :-)

This song came out in the 90's. It's about not practicing safe sex, and HIV. Spinning the Wheel with someone's life. "One of these days your gonna bring some home to me" - sounds much darker now doesn't it? He had super fun catchy upbeat songs with WHAM int he 80's and then went solo. He's created an incredible catalogue of music. He passed away on Christmas Day in 2016 - gone too soon... You should definitely go down this rabbit hole - he left us so many musical gifts to remember him by.

It's an amphitheater. That arch acts as an amplifier and projects sound outward. The ancient Greeks used it for their comedies. Kissing a fool and don't let the sun go down on me are my favorite songs by him. Careless whisper and freedom are also great songs.

George Michael was his stage name, his real name was Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou. He was born in London, his father was Greek Cypriot and his mother English. The woman in the video definitely wasn’t his wife, George was gay. Sadly he died in 2016 from a heart condition.
Not only was he an extremely talented singer, song writer, and producer, but also an amazing human being. He did a lot for charities and other good causes, much of which didn’t become known until after his death.
He is very much missed here in the UK.

He was epitome of blue eyed soul. At the forefront of what I like to call UK Soul. If you look at singers from Britain like George Michael, Simply Red, Swing Out Sister, The Style Council, Amy Winehouse plus countless others it will blow your mind. These are artists are true scholars of American Soul/Rn’B, it’s not ripped off or piss poor bastardization or attempts at covers. If you listen these artists catalogue you can plainly hear that Soul music, specifically 70’s soul music had a huge impact on their lives. They literally took American Soul music flipped the script and made it their own. Also take a listen to Lisa Stansfield, Jamiroquai, Incognito even Ed Sheeran. Enjoy!

I found your reaction video very refreshing and entertaining. It's hard to recommend one song from him, as he has made music in many different genres. The best known of all is probably Careless Whisper. If you prefer live performances, I recommend Fast Love or Freedom from the MTV Unplugged concert or the ballad Father Figure from the same concert. His repertoire ranges from pop, soul, r&b, jazz to funk. Some corny and catchy, others deep and serious. Different between the early works and later releases.

    Dear Britt
I'm a long time George Michael fan. You did a reaction video to one of his songs called spinning wheel.
In the very beginning of your reaction video you mentioned that you knew very little about George Michael.
Here's the short version of his backstory. George Michael started out in a group called Wham back in 1982. The group had 4 albums and were known globally.
When Wham were still together the group was invited to perform a concert in China in April of 1985.
Making them the very first pop group from the West to ever have performed China
With hits like Wake me up before You Go-Go careless whisper freedom and everything she wants all reaching number 1.
In 1986 when performed their final concert in Wembley stadium on June 28th George wyth done in Bock on his own starting with his most famous album with songs like.
I want your sex Faith monkey father figure and one more try.
Over the course of his 25-year career he won over 75 awards. Throughout his solo career. Spanning four albums over the course of his solo career.
He is globally loved not just in the UK but around the world. And has made countless music videos all of which he had a hand in producing and editing and that was the way it was done with his music as well.
He was not just a singer he was a producer he was the singer he was also a talented song writer.
Also in the reaction video I heard you ask about the venue that he was performing at. The stadium where a few previous concerts by George Michael we'e done in the original Wembley stadium in London England
If I'm not mistaken this is the new Wembley stadium and that Arch that you see is a retractable roof the stage that goes around sort of like a horseshoe that's all of his stage. The tour itself with called 25 years.
A lot of the video that you see on the screen directly behind George was video clip from the music video he made by the same name Sinning wheel.

  • @karenmeaden5878

The song is about not practising safe sex and the possibility of getting HIV that's why in the lyric he says "one of these days you are going to bring some home to me (HIV). He's saying he wants to go back to the stage where they were monogamous. Quite a dark song but whenever I saw George perform this live the audience always loved it and the crowd participation was always great which George loved. What a talent. I am still so sad that I will never hear him sing live again, it was always such a special thing and to me nobody comes close to having his overall talent.

@@rowanmayfair9249 Hi again my friend. Don't you think If this lady starts to get to know George through his music/love, It really doesn't matter? If George touches her heart Its game over, we know that all too well! George's heart will penetrate her heart! Just as It has for millions! LOL, BK 😄🥰😇🎶💖

@@bk4062 It does matter. It is a part of him that colored his lyrics and vocals, it's one of the reasons he sang from such a deep place. You have to know the bad to help round out the good he did. Such a dichotomy, it's part of what made him so sexy.

Hi. You have to dive into the George Michael well. One of the best vocalists of all time and one of the nicest guys in the music industry. Started off in a boy band called Wham and then went solo. Just get lost in his music. Amazing

I think if you saw two more videos, you might get a better feel of George Michael’s evolution. A song entitled Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go is when he started with the group WHAM! Then one of his first solo hits is entitled Faith. Enjoy!!

As others have said funny to find someone not aware of George Michael. One of the biggest selling artists (as part of Wham and then solo) of the 80's and 90's. He regularly sold out huge venues for decades.
And no not his wife. He came out in the 90's after an infamous incident in some public toilets in LA.

George Michael is a Greek Cypriot Super Star who grew up in the UK that's the reason why he has a first name for a surname which was traditional in Cyprus to get your surname from your father's first name. He has collaborated with Elton John, Whitney Houston Aretha Franklin, Paul McCartney Queen, you have to see 3 live performances from him 1A Tribute to Freddie Mercury with Queen at Wembley stadium performing Somebody to love....your jaw will drop..... 2 with Elton John Don't let the sun go down on me and 3 Unplugged in the 90s Star People, you will really appreciate his great talent and voice!!!!

🤓There's a reson why in the mid-1980s, George Michael found some success in the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs with hit singles such as "Careless Whisper" and "Everything She Wants" but it was not until he reinvented himself as a white soul singer with the release of his multi-platinum album Faith (1987).
👉 The album Faith (1987) was notable for entering the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart at number one, making it the first album by a white artist to hit the top spot on that chart, mainly due to the gospel-influenced singles that were released from the album, most notably "Father Figure" and "One More Try". In 1989, he racked up three wins in the American Music Awards including Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist and Favorite Soul/R&B Album for Faith.

React to "You have been loved". It's from the perspective of the mother of his dead lover and how she mourns her child.

I would recommend you listen to the recorded version, as you can listen to the song properly, and all the brilliant nuances you don't get from the live performance.
Can I also recommend "Cowboys and Angels" which has an amazing jazz come waltz vibe.

Didn't think I'd ever say this. I have the same shirt you are wearing.
The half dome I'd designed to project the sound. For a concert that size because of the massive PA it's just to look cool.
