You can't be over 30 and hear "Careless whisper" for the first time. That is just not possible.
Yeah, its pretty impossible, other songs maybe, but careless whisper?
That’s an 80s song! Aren’t those people expired already?
It's not their genre. There are probably millions of famous rap songs out there I have never heard...
It’s the hustle
As bad as people saying they never heard ‘stairway to heaven’ … jokes .. all for views
It’s hard to say how huge this song was in 84’
RIP, George Michael!! One of the GOAT...
He was a darn teenager when he wrote this gem. Absolutely amazing song.
Yes, only 17 years old. How does this happen if you are not a musical genius?
@@rosemiller2990 ghost writers.
@@DarkMorthy he produced it by himself
@@DarkMorthyOh Mark. It's sad that you don't realize some people have REAL talent...😢😢😢
Don't let the Sun go down on me, live with Elton John!!!!!!!!! Classic!!!
I saw Elton John at Dodger Stadium at the time the duet was out. He brought out George Michael to sing the song with him. It was rumored he might appear at the concert.
YES!!!!
Oh dear God yes!! That's unbelievably beautiful.
💯
It was originally " Don`t let Elton go down on me " but he was made to change the lyrics by the BBC.
RIP George Michael...A beautiful soul, gone too soon..❤️
You have no idea of the number of masterpieces this man has produced. Go down the rabbit hole
More George Michael guys; he was a brilliant talent...
George was 17 when this came up in his head, 17 !!!
One of the best singer songwriters of the last 50 years, his albums Faith, Listen without Prejudice and especially Older are classics, he had a truly great voice, he was such a generous man giving away money all his life, he passed away on Christmas day, he just lay down and died aged just 53....he is much missed...
Listen Without Prejudice is a masterpiece.
Don’t forget the albumPatience . When it was released, it was the fastest selling album of the year. It had some beautiful songs, and George’s voice was totally on par.
he unalived himself, my friend. rip
im getting old when people dont know George . This was the number one Billboard charted song of 1985 , he also had the number one song of 1988 "Faith"
Yeah, know what you mean!!😪
Hi Guys greetings from England 🇬🇧 Geoge Michael was a huge international singer and an English iconic singer who sadly and tragically passed away far too early.
George was an exceptionally talented singer and you should check out George as lead singer with" QUEEN " singing SOMEBODY TO LOVE as a tribute to the late Freddie Mercury and this was George at his absolute best and it was an outstanding performance and so worth watching as his vocals are superb and you Guys will love this.
“Guilty feet have got no rhythm” great line
Made me laugh when Philip said that. "Guilty *feelings* got no rhythm" is how I've always heard it, and it's how the line will always go in my head, even if it's wrong. Guilty "feet"? What? What exactly was he doing with his feet to make their guilt stand out? 😂.
@@cassianfalkener3706in the following line GM sings about "dancing a life together ", but they can't anymore because one has cheated on the other one, so the rhythm has gone, and the feet are guilty.
@@rosarioforino7075 I stand by my statement.
"Different corner" is a must
I got chillz when he said "I'm not familiar with GM at all!"
Wow. Amazing how we all travel through different worlds.
I wouldn't be familiar with the music they grew up listening to, either. I haven't listened to modern music in over 20 years. I do hear a few here and there -- like on Instagram -- that I like, but I don't actively seek it out.
@@sallyphillips9175 Same here. I'm 25, but have never kept up with modern music. Anything younger than 20 years on my playlist is what I heard on the radio, in passing.
*EVERYTHING SHE WANTS* - *_George Michael/WHAM_* mid-80's masterpiece !
One of my favs
Father Figure is another guilty pleasure by George Michaels worth checking out.
'guilty pleasure'......huh?
I LOVE Father Figure.
Freedom, Too Funky, Faith and Flawless are all George Michael classics ❤😊
also one of the most handsome men I have ever seen
Careless Whisper remains a great song that stands the test of time. On another matter, George Michael was very generous with his time and wealth. A lot of stories came out after he passed. RIP.
This song is credited as "Wham!" It came out in late 1984, and became the #1 song of 1985 in the USA. The sax riff is one of the most recognized in music history!!!
There are some songs on George Michael's "Faith" album that are absolutely essential! They are "Faith," "Father Figure" and "One More Try." That album had SIX top 5 hits, including FOUR #1 hits! There are also some Wham! classics, like "Everything She Wants," Freedom" and "A Different Corner."
Don’t forget Wake Me Up Before you Go.
@@taoist32 I never cared for that song, but it was #3 for the year, when "Careless Whisper" was #1.
It was only credited as Wham in the USA I think, everywhere else it was a George solo record, the same with A Different Corner. Also in the UK, Listen without Prejudice and Older albums sold more than Faith
George was an amazingly talented artist and very generous human being, sadly missed.
A signature song for George Michael. No cover will ever do it justice. By FAR, this is the song I replay in my mind when I think of him.
This and of course Faith. But he had tonnes of classics. RIP George, always missed
Great to see a George Michael reaction on the channel. He's one of my all time favorite artists. His song "One More Try" would definitely impress you.
The Mount Rushmore of 80’s music was Prince, Madonna, Michael Jackson and George Michael. That’s how big he was. His group Wham! was massive and then his solo album Faith was a huge hit.
The 1st and last died in 2016...I may be wrong but I think the other 2 were both born in 1958🎩
Best lyric of all time - 'guilty feet have got no rhythm'. Genius.
The hair, the clothes, the voice..... only one George Michael..
The sheer talent, AND, a beautiful soul!
Yep! Dude was the complete great man or ultimate Gigolo imo. I just wish he was just that and not gay. 😢
I highly recommend his songs “Faith” and “Jesus to a Child”. George Michael is simply amazing.
George was a musical Genius , wrote produced and played on so many great songs
one of kind
George has a great catalogue of songs. Well worth a deep dive into his songs.
George Michael is one of the best male singers - ever
George Michael was huge in the 80's alongside Michael Jackson, Prince and Madonna. He was a musical genius. It wasn't recorded at the time, but this was written when he was 17 years old. Mind blowing!
RIP. George Michael has a great catalog of music. Hope you do more. "Kissing A Fool" is one of those good songs.
George was a music icon. George was one of the most talented singer and songwriterr ever. One of my favorite is 'One more try' official video. I believe that most of his songs were very close to his real life experiences.
George wrote this when a teenager. Also added his longtime school friend and musician in Wham! Andrew Ridgley to the credits so he could receive royalties as well especially after George died.
It's still hard to believe he's gone forever
Agree "A Different Corner" is one of his best but "Praying for Time" is also amazing and the lyrics are still relevant today
These are my 2 faves.
Different Corner is a stunning vocal performance. George was a brilliant songwriter and performer and as a red blooded male, he was a damned good looking guy
The guy was an entertainer! He had serious talent
My absolute favourite artist of all time❤❤.. soundtrack of my life his music❤❤
Freedom is fantastic!!!
The best George Michael I've heard was when he did Somebody to Love at the tribute concert for Freddie Mercury-really should check it out
Check out “Live at Concert of Hope 1993.” Geroge was such an accomplished singer and performed better in the studio than anything else.
Definitely worth seeing “MTV unplugged 1996” simply amazing.
One of the most moving performances for me was "A Different Corner" Live On BBC Parkinson Show.
Geroge, we miss you
"Where did your heart go" also a banger.
RIP George Michael. He had a voice like no other ❤
I agree with one of the comments above. A different corner gives me goosebumps. Beautiful!!
As soon as you hear it you know it's a hit
I can't hear this song without ever thinking of the movie Deadpool now...😂😂😂
Truly an iconic sax...
Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me (Live)
Song by Elton John and George Michael...FUXEN AWESOME!!!!
This song went through a renaissance because of it being in "Deadpool." He references the song twice and it plays during the final credits.
Yep this this this the song you want to play to your real sweetheart not some shallow , superficial 304 , you met in like Miami !
Funnily enough I recognize the saxo solo from many shows too, even Detective Conan if I remember correctly!
40 years ago now ! Another life gone too soon ! Magical voice
A TRUE LEGEND!!! Check out somebody to love with queen. His catalog is unmatched period
This is probaly one if the most played songs from the 80s ever and still gets airplay today 40 years since its release. Amazing artist and very sorely missed.
In Italy this song by George Michael had an incredible success...... even today it plays on Italian radios
He did a great duet with Elton John called “Don’t let The Sun Go Down On Me”. It’s definitely worth a listen.
Everyone in the world knows the sax sound even if they're living under a rock in some remote jungle. It's iconic.
George Michael was truly one of the greatest singer/songwriters of his generation. Most artists with that many hits are doing songs written by others, but he wrote them all. As a teen in the 80’s I remember how he was absolutely everywhere on the radio. Glad I got to see him live once back then.
he's my all time favourite.. its sad that he passed on too early...
Ah, you are discovering George! 😃🤩
George Michael was a top drawer, all time great up there with MJ, Prince, Elvis etc
Yeah I was a young adult when this was popular and wow what a brilliant catalog of music George Michael has made since this beautiful piece! We all knew Wham and they had some good tunes but George went on to make us all realize what a musical genius he was.
He's one of my favorites. Too many great songs to list.
He was the creative head of Wham! "Everything She Wants" and "I´m Your Man" are my favorite songs of the Group. From his slow solo stuff I would recommend Father Figure (MTV unplugged) and One More Try (Concert of Hope). These are probably the best known, but "Kissing A Fool" is my favorite. Alongside "Faith", "Freedom'90" and "Fast Love", "Spinning The Wheel" is absolutely worth listening to.
george michael was one the best to ever perform on stage and this one my favorites song of his wish he was still around rest in peace your music will live forever.
I grew up listening to wham, and George Michael one of my all time favorites. So good
Pure natural talent. He wrote this and many of his other hits. He was an awesome music composer singer and songwriter. He was is a legend for sure.
He was a serious GOAT!! Gorgeous and extremely talented. Will never be another.
one of the greatest voices of all time
Rest in peace, George!❤
His album "Faith" is filled with masterpieces. "Father Figure", "One More Try" & the title track are especially great!
I wasn't into this style of music back in 1984 still this song entered my mind and never let go again!! This is simpy one of those songs that once you heard them they won't let go with you.
My favorite male vocalist. I hope you go down the rabbit hole.
One of my top five male vocalists, superb
Everyone should know this song.
I still own this vinyl. Love him
Who thinks we had better sax back in the 80's
Spandau Ballet "True" is another classic that will really leave you in the WOW factor
Almost 40 years old, this sound is timeless. The slow song par excellence. Thank you for this memory and for your reaction
I think this was also in Miami Vice (80's TV series)like so many other songs of the time.
This was in alll the clubs back then. Even a rocker like me liked it, just so well done.
We all have lost at love at one time or another, and this song really makes us feel it.
RIP GEORGE!!!
Seether did an amazing cover to this you need to check out!!!
I never knew how good of a song this really was when it came out, but after you really listen to it man it’s a great song that saxophone and those strings our fantastic and such a soulful voice
This is my guilty pleasure song
RIP GEORGE MICHAEL..it’s my favorite track of his.
Certainly one of the great singers that defined the eighties. Maybe the greatest.
This song is a quintessential 80s track. George was an amazing songwriter at a really young age. I had a huge crush on him that year. Little did I know ... 😅 Check out his song You Have Been Loved. It's about visiting the grave of his lover, who died of AIDS. An incredibly sad, delicately written song ❤
This is a really good song. George Michael has a LOT of good songs. Great voice.
You guys have to listen to George singing "Cowboys and Angels" and "Spinning the Wheel"....these songs will blow you're mind and show you the genius of George!
George Michael is amazing live. Such a terrible loss. My personal favourite is Papa was a rolling stone/killer.
The sound of the late 80s right here. As others have commented, check out him and Elton John singing "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" at a concert. It's great!
Late 80s ? It’s from 1984!
@@PaulB-vi5bl oh yeah, you're right. time's getting blurry :P
This Song Is a Masterpiece So Right 👏 RIP George Michael 🙏
He may have bigger hits, but George's fans know that Playing For Time is a very special song. It's also for sure that you know his Last Christmas that might be the second most played Christmas song every December. The movie Last Christmas features an all George soundtrack.
One of the best singers who ever lived. His voice was incredible and compliments other amazing artists music so well.
His version of 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me' with Elton John is beautiful. Thus song has been used in so many movies I'm sure, but mostly recently it was used in Deadpool
This was everywhere in the 80's - an extremely popular 'slow dance' song at school discos! 😉
Great song thumbs 👍!!!!❤ .
I looooove his voice. My favorit songs of his is One more try and Jesus to a child
One of the greatest voices of the last 40 years. He sold over 100 million albums in his lifetime, and keeps selling. Great duets with Elton John ("Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me") and Aretha Franklin ("Knew You Were Waiting For Me"). Solo Songs incl. "Freedom 90", "Jesus to a Child", "Father Figure", "Faith".
Freedom and Faith are probably his two other biggest solo hits. Definitely worth checking out. Iconic songs
This song was played all the time on the radio and mtv, when mtv play videos, so I find it hard to believe that you never heard this song. I recommend watching the live performance of this song in Japan.
thanks for doing George.. Faith is another good one of his...
The mother of all monster hits.. the lyrics based on a true story.
Freedom '90, Outside, Father Figure, and Fastlove are all excellent songs to check out as well.
