This song is credited as "Wham!" It came out in late 1984, and became the #1 song of 1985 in the USA. The sax riff is one of the most recognized in music history!!!
There are some songs on George Michael's "Faith" album that are absolutely essential! They are "Faith," "Father Figure" and "One More Try." That album had SIX top 5 hits, including FOUR #1 hits! There are also some Wham! classics, like "Everything She Wants," Freedom" and "A Different Corner."

After 54 years of life, I don't know anyone who has impressed me as deeply and accompanied me through my life as George Michael. I still can't understand that he is dead: I still can't believe that he won't write any more music. Even though George never just wrote songs. George wrote music history. With every song, with every line, with every vocal. When I hear him today, I cry quietly. With joy at being able to experience it, with pain at not being able to experience it anymore and with happiness that he is more modern than ever.

His album "Faith" is filled with masterpieces. "Father Figure", "One More Try" & the title track are especially great!

George Michael was truly one of the greatest singer/songwriters of his generation. Most artists with that many hits are doing songs written by others, but he wrote them all. As a teen in the 80’s I remember how he was absolutely everywhere on the radio. Glad I got to see him live once back then.

First time i have seen someone point out the lyrics and message conveyed. I understand its easy to overlook because the sax and his voice are phenomenal... but the words have depth, meaning, life experience. Timeless track

I'm a hard rock guy, but you've got to appreciate talent when you see it. Not a fan back in the day, but my wife and I loved listening to his Older and Listen Without Prejudiced. The agreement, production, and singing is second to none. There's a lot of his live work that is tremendous too.

This song went through a renaissance because of it being in "Deadpool." He references the song twice and it plays during the final credits.

Check out “Live at Concert of Hope 1993.” Geroge was such an accomplished singer and performed better in the studio than anything else.
Definitely worth seeing “MTV unplugged 1996” simply amazing.
One of the most moving performances for me was "A Different Corner" Live On BBC Parkinson Show.
    Geroge, we miss you
