i love when individual people and small teams are much better at making good games than huge corporations
its great how small studio's and developers tend to put more passion and care into their projects unlike some triple-A slop lol
its right there in the name
CORPORATION
its corporate, safe, slop that guarantees they get their money back
@@LuckayyAU it make sense though. Big companies are too big to care, as long as it makes them money. Small devs actually have to try because they don't have a hivemind that'll buy their game no matter what.
Can you share some titles too so that people who see this thread may check out the stuff that goes under the radar? Things like Blud, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Genokids, Cookie Cutter, Soulstice, Immortal: And the Death that Follows, My Familiair, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, Harold Halibut, Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip, The Mermaid's Tongue/The Mermaid Mask, Resistor, Kings of Hell, whatever Moonhood Studio and Amanita Design are cooking up, Decline's Drops, and so many more.
The last good AAA game I played was Titanfall 2

pretty sure lot of the people saying "gaming is dead" is because their favorite game is a game like fortnite or roblox and they are bored about them and dont know what else to play so they just say "yeah gaming is dead guys" either way all these games you showed look good
You know what color looks like gold? Yellow, you know what's Yellow? Undertale Yellow, Undertale Yellow is a game, so you should play Undertale Yellow!
PAC Man
The people who make those âGaming is deadâ videos are the same people who are so committed to eat up the same COD or EA Sports slop that they had kids with both
Exactly, I see these people are console gamers too, it is litterally inconceivable to say that for the PC gaming galaxy. It has become so huge it is almost impossible to survey between all the different genres PC offers to gamers and it's like every 3-6 months we get a sub genre of gaming.
Don't forget ENA: Dream BBQ, this will probably be my best game of all time when it finally comes out. The trailer alone is a masterpiece.
finally the big catch mentioned ive been following this project ever since its inception and have never seen any mentions. How can something this good be overlooked so hard
Yeah itâs impressive how overlooked it is
5:55 the main composer is Andrew Hulshult who as you probably know made the DUSK ost
you could throw darts at a conspiracy board, and there's a 70% chance they'd all land on a game he actually composed for
he's becoming the gianni matragrano of vgm
@@ConsarnitTokkori And that's a worthy title!
Andrew does a phenomenal job. If there's anybody I could ask to possibly take Mick's place for future Doom games, it's probably him.

indie games are undeniably better than most triple a games nowadays
Um. Armored core 6, RE4 remake, Zelda totk, Baldurs gate 3, Alan Wake 2, I mean all of those are from last year alone

â@technoboop1890 that's what I'm saying.

Rift of the Necrodancer has a free demo out and I kid you not I've already put 6 hours into it
One game Iâm excited for is cuffbust which is by the same developer as choo choo Charles and he says that it will be pc only and steam deck.
6:55 Thanks for bringing up UFO 50! It's been my most anticipated game for 7 years now, and it feels unreal that it's actually coming out, finally. 50 games really do take a long time to make, lol
0:45 seconds in and you already stated something that I also said myself, Big Catch Tackle Box is crazy that it's free for the amount of fun you can have with it
We are living in a golden age of foekoe videos rn
The Big Catch's demo is so good I really wish I could go back in time to back the kickstarter
'Creator! Creator! More [Obsecure Video Games] please!'
I'd say thats just Indie video games, real SLOP, real obscurity is something that you rarely find, and that usually finds you instead
5:37 I feel it's likely Andrew Hulshult will return to compose for Dark Ages considering he contributed music for the DLC. If that's the case my hopes are high because he's also an amazing composer (made music for Dusk and Amid Evil for instance)
They need to add a $10 dlc thats just solely there to support the game. And maybe it gives you like a cool socks recolor or something
The big catch demo is sooo good
It's made by the same people that did Yo Noid 2 which is also worth playing if you haven't already
AND WE ARE GETTING A NEW MARIO AND LUIGI GAME!!!!
There is also a game releasing tomorrow called âConscriptâ which looks absolutely phenomenal. It has a similar artstyle to blasphemous (same studio) but itâs a survival horror game in ww1
ive been saying this for a couple months now, its super exciting to see the era of indie and a golden age of video games once again
I'm absolutely with you regarding Tacklebox. This _free_ demo has enough content to be considered a full-fledged indie game, yet it's only a taste of what's to come in the full game (which will have even more mechanics)! It's definitely going to be the best platformer of the 2020's!
As for the people who made it, it's by the same guys who made Yo! Noid II. The whole grappling mechanic originates from there!
The people who say âgaming sucksâ while not wrong, are genuinely ignorant
They're focusing too much on the cash grab games
âGaming sucks!â = âThe three shooter franchises that are the only games I play have gone downhill!â
"Gaming sucks now" mfs when I show them Hi-Fi rush, Armored Core 6, Baldur's Gate 3, Helldivers 2, Ultrakill, Hades 2, Pikmin 4, and literally every other f@*king indie game out there (and some other triple A games that have genuine passion behind it)

Valve actually did something about the bots they are now very rarely found
Since youâre talking about metroidvanias Iâm surprised you didnât mention Mio: memories in orbit, when it looks like a mix of rain world and hollow knight.
That game looks really fun. Canât wait to play it
Cookie Cutter is cool too where Metroidvanias are concerned. Not here to reinvent the wheel, but to be its own thing and a solid time throughout. Not many games set in a colorful sci-fy/cyberpunk dystopia where the inhabitants range from an amorous skeleton robot with an afro to a proper Hindu demon with a mouth on his belly.
I literally just finished The Big Catch: Tacklebox a couple days ago and I am BEYOND excited for the full release, PEAK PLATFORMER
Thanks for putting me on to The Big Catch. Game looks really good.
I recently got addicted to this game called âMy time at Sandrockâ and I havenât slept in 2 days
You know what? Iâm making a goal to play every game in this video and everything else I find even remotely fun that comes out this year. I need a serious detox of competitive games.
Mind if i give some suggestions of neat lesser-known (indie) games that are already out or have yet to come out?
The people who made The Big Catch, are I KID YOU NOT, from the devs of Yo Noid 2
Big Catch feels like it has something to do with Pseudoregalia and I'm all for it. Thank you SlopFoe for showing me this amazing game
I went through this arc involving the mayor and seeing you mention him gave me total whiplash
Objection, as we can play any game, every time is the gaming golden age so it both exists and not if you all understand me
I havent watched the vid yet idk what im talking about tbh but ye
Yeah I get ya, everyday is a time to find a new game that fits you, or even experiment with. And though not all of us can keep buying games, people like Foekoe will always mention these games so I get what you're saying. I mean heck, when I hear people say a Nintendo direct is bad, I get confused
i need more people to play big catch. this game should blow up like a hat in time did
Until Silksong or Half Life 3 is out, I'm intensely holding off my "Gaming Renaissance" hype for now (it's getting close tho with GTA6)
I can only assume people think, that the industry is falling apart, beacuse big companies don't take such big creative risks anymore and when they don't have an easy trail to follow by looking at what the big publishers are doing and middle-sized studios so often just work as subsidiaries to the same company, but still, there are so many more passionate people out there, that you can't not be excited for what tommorow will bring with it.
You just need to know where to look.
Can't believe you forgot Mario snd Luigi Brothership
i think this was before it was revealed
You should play Patapon, it is undoubtedly the most underrated rythm game I have ever played
Its always weird to me how people freak out when they find a great free game,i find those quite often,if anyone wants to know some here
Grimm's Hollow
Sheepy:a short adventure
Tadpole Tales
Die in the dungeon origins
Bloody hell
(Not all ive found, just some examples, the weakest id say is tadpole tales and the strongest are Grimm's Hollow and sheepy a short adventure)
Also foekoe if you are reading this for any reason well uhh, great video!
the amount of banger games that are dropping and gonna drop is completly insane
We're SO winning!

Name me a single time in history where there was a company that made a groundbreaking piece of art and not a singular person. This game? Directed by Miamoto. This song? Written by Mozart. This painting? Painted by Michelangelo.
There is a reason why we arent parading around art made by the "East Indian Trading Company" and that is because all art is about the human condition and who better to tell you about it than a human who has a personal story to tell.
Art is always been made bu people and always will be
Miamoto doesn't make video games on his own
miamoto is best girl, you're thinking of shigeru miyamoto
that aside, i'm gonna get some hate for this, but gloomwood
bodycam looks like a really cool game, im surprised it's not here
Yep I have been saying it since 2022, it is indeed a golden age, the previous one was in the 1996-1998 era. You'd might desire the 2001-2002 era to be golden era too for but that was not a golden era for gaming, it was however the sparks of internet that transformed gaming forever.
This was honestly better than every game presentation this year
the amount of people i know irl who have no idea what an indie game is. . . i'm dying.
Show them the way
@@derple8524 i'm 16 lol. i can't make people double my age stop playing the same shooter games over and over again. i still remember the time they said how games like cod, pubg and gta are so much better to "this generation's interests". i almost they were joking.

I'm quite excited for the new mario and luigi and the new mario party games.
The doom soundtrack will probably still rock because it's made by andrew hulshult (mainly known for dusk, but also the doom eternal anceint gods dlc)
Also Mario and Luigi: Brotherhood, cant forget this one!
I highly reccomend you Dr. Robotnik Ring Racers.
Yellow Taxi goes Vroom.
Want a collect-a-thon game with funky schmoovement, insane artstyle, hella good level design, quirky soundtrack, a story literally about Elon Musk, dogs shitting, pizza kinging, bowling, bomb blasting, in le heading, gym workouting, bunny nabbing, and easy to learn hard to master platforming? Yeah me too.
On the side of the new dooms music I am fully expecting it to be Andrew Hulshult who does the sound track as he's worked on so many beloved indie boomer shooters like dusk and was also responsible for the Doom Eternal DLC soundtrack.
rift of the necrodancer has a demo, in case anyone wants to try it out (i personally found it really hard to actually hit enemies)
A game that I enjoy, and think you should review, is Corn kidz 64. its a 3d platformer that takes inspiration from and attempts to recreate the 64 bit gaming experience. it is well made and i would love to see it covered on the channel.
i still stand by my claim that the "golden age" of games in general started around 2016, and has only been getting more golden age-y since
give or take aaa devs actively looking for stray rakes to step on every other week
I might sounds weird but I am very excited for UFO50, this is so spot on to makes this era greatand what overall gamers are asking for, taking risk and showing creativity, doing it simple but doing it great.
Don't forgot the new Mario & Luigi Brothership video game!!!!!!!! Thank you Nintendo for bringing back Mario & Luigi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

COLD WAR ZOMBIES IS NOT BAD TAKE THAT BACK.
Literally the most fun zombies core gameplay. I love it. Maps are whatever, characters are who cares. but that actual gameplay is so fun
The gaming golden age is not now, it was the 1990s and nothing can ever change that fact, because most video game studios actually cared about the games and the gamers who played them, unlike EA and Ubisoft.
Iâve been looking forward to big walk since it was announced. We should totally play together..
Touhou Devil of Decline was localized and even though I can't afford it yet since I broke as hell rn I can confirm it's indeed the golden age of gaming right now

3:15 youâre right but that wonât stop me from looking slightly miffed about it at a distance of thirty feet away from you
The quality of the Hades 2 beta is what convinced me that we are in the golden age
Indie games thrive like a well balanced ecosystem

The garden warfare line got me sobbing hard bro, all I need is a gw3.
I've been saying this for a little while. If you stay away from the dumb live service fluff, madden, and ubisoft being... ubisoft. Basically away from the louder parts of the AAA bubble while holding their library card for the next Ratchet & Clank, Elden Ring, Space Marines 2, Metroid, etc. But the indie/small-dev scene has been no joke. Its not without its faults and pitfalls, as for all the crap we give AAA, some of that has the indie variable between total funding scams, and guys that haven't figured out more genres exist beyond isometric or 2D rogue-likes. Still that aside, Big Catch actually released with a game almost doing the exact same thing from a Spyro standpoint as Glyde The Dragon - Massive absurd demo, being largely a tech test you can play so you know the team is worth backing. Then we just passed Trepang 2's first anniversary, a game known well to the FEAR community, but even as a guy that hasn't touched that game... it was just FPS gold for a while. Lock me in the basement and just let me play it until I forget I didn't eat for 2 days, kind of good. I put 50 hours into a game with a campaign that is 5 hours long at a stretch. Replaying levels, hitting so much of the side content, glued to the forums and checking tips on a massive secret level, laughing at some of the cultural insights, checking up on influences, getting updates that send me plunging back in the horde mode, it goes on and on. Pseudoregalia did that for the 3D platformer side of things at a close time. Now I'm forced to juggle my time with Selaco, Deep Rock Galactic's new update, Wizordom, Dread Delusion, and the urge to replay Dishonored, its all a bit too much to dance to the drama songs of Blizzard (seriously, how is that company still around? They've had so many reasons to never touch their games again, even at the point of gameplay and beyond, how are you people still there!?).
Today guys we've got very easy access to a totally redone Spyro TRILOGY, access to all Dishonored and Dark Souls games in some format, the most variants and mods of Skyrim to choose from, so many emulators and even odd options like Evercade to cash in on oldies with great newer and even legal and collectible means, so many hours of JRPGs I don't think a human can do them unless it becomes their religion, horror games and 3D platformers have more than returned, and ya'know what.... some people still love the worlds Ubisoft puts out and their garbage is easier to ingest with a heap of podcasts. This is the golden age, whether you want a Pac-man novelty arcade mini, to be challenged and torn apart in souls games, play a new platformer or good FPS, or enjoy a cozy sim game, the options, access, and prices are all over the place.
3:05
Have you played THE FINALS?

I had a feeling after watching the Unreal Engine Demonin 2020 I was thinking "Okay, now we wait 4 to 5 years for the developers to finish making their games in this new engine and we can have some TRULY Next Generation titles"
I was half right. Most of the good stuff are Indies. Cat Quest III and YS X Nordics are my most anticipated titles of this year. Gori Cuddly Carnage could be good too. As well as Warhammer 40K Space Marine II.
Garden warfare 2 is genially still going strong, I played a few games and some of the servers were fullâĶ not the same of what Iâve heard on pc thoughâĶ
Half the indie games are going to be expensive as fuck and I'd rather buy another knife in CS2.
An other metroidvania that i say you should cheek out is BÅ: Path of the Teal Lotus, i tried the demo and it was hella fun. Reason? every attack you hit on EVERYTHING gives you a second jump. needless to say i was in the air for the entire fight with the first boss
If you like that movement, you should try out The Messenger. Itâs another great metroidvania!
Anyond notice when hes talking about constrage greenpath is playing in the background after talking bout hornet
Mario & Luigi is one of those things I thought would never return. Then again I also thought we would never get Sans in smash so... I should be wrong more often.
its not so much that "gaming is dead" as it is that i dont feel like im having fun anymore. it may be my short attention-span or my impossibly high standards but i feel like by the time i played a game i'd already see all it had to offer by the time i'd added it to my cart.
trailers spoil so much and if its gets popular overnight then good luck logging into twitter or youtube cause thats all anyone will be talking about.
the games that i knew very little about were absolutely phenomenal though. i'd been living under a rock for a long time so when i finally played hotline miami it'd felt like i'd just seen the sun for the first time, and i played inscryption for the first in january 2022 and it was 100% my favorite game i'd played that year. but i dont think i'd have liked them as much if i was around to see all the hype that inevitably would have spoiled massive plot twists.
