The Grand Hotel Blackpool Room & Hotel tour - We Stayed for less than £30!!!! What a bargain!!

- So Spud finished work early for a change on Friday, did a random search on the Internet and came across this last minute booking. It cost £28 for the night for both of us, it would of cost an extra £20 for breakfast but as we were challenging ourselves to see how cheap we could do it , we went to Greggs for breakfast. The hotel also offers parking for £7 but there was street parking for free right by the hotel so we opted for that.

I stayed at this Hotel over lockdown. ......for 6 months. One of the luckiest timings and times in my life. The staff and view and room were and was utterly brilliant. I faced the Tower in its illuminated glory. Perfect. My family have used this hotel for decades for its restaurant and entertainment even though they were locals. Easy to recommend even at a higher common £49 or more per night. What you got was an utter bargain in a beautiful, in my opinion, hotel.
It's nice to hear you were looked after during lockdown and a Tower View is definitely a treat. I cant believe we got a sea view.
We were a bit apprehensive as we had stayed here previously whilst run by Hilton, being under Brittania now and all the bad reviews they get but we figured for £28 I would sleep in a ymca but wow look at the place. I agree it's beautiful and nice and quiet. We would stay again without question and as you say its regularly available for around £50 per night, worth every penny.
We do love a bargain, not sure we can top this one though!

£17 was tempting but it did sound to good to be true. Is really that bad?🤔
@@outandaboutwithus well.... I thought so until a recent blogger has said it has all been refurbished. But certainly not in the same league as The Grand even then.
Might be worth taking a look just out of interest. I cant imagine it would exceed the Grands beauty though 😊
I've passed the grand many a time, always wondered what it looked like inside. Nice interior, the reception looked nice with the open balcony. Might consider staying here one time. Thanks for the tour. Happy travels, great little channel.😊
Thankyou 😃 you usually find it priced around £39 to £49 but when £28 came up that was too big a bargain to miss (we love a bargain). Love the reception area it looks real 50's glam 😊
I worked there when it was the Pembroke (1st) the Stakis (2nd) and the Hilton (3rd). Never for it's newest owners, Britannia (spit!) but of course for the price it's fantastic.
We have stayed there whilst it was the hilton and nothing has really been spent on it since it changed hands (typical Brittania) but for £28 you would struggle to pitch a tent for that price. If I could be cheeky and ask you to like and subscribe as it really helps the channel grow 😊

If I found the dead mouse in the cupboard the cleaners would of had x2 corpses to clean up in the morning 🤣 would of preferred to find it alive, would of made me reconsider the breakfast as the mouse might of visited the kitchen 1st 🤣😅😂

Great review. We stayed here many times when it was owned by Hilton. Was sad to hear it was then taken over by its current owners Britannia. Although looking at some of the more recent Britannia reviews on TH-cam, they seem to be refurbishing their hotels. So many somewhere to consider staying. Excellent value too. Keep up the good work.
Thankyou. We have also stayed here whilst it was owned by Hilton (their breakfast was amazing). It is a beautiful looking hotel. Love the Art Decor look always feels glamorous. It's nice to think you can have such thing as budget glamour.
We know not everyone can afford to stay in high end places, especially know and Brittania certainly get bad press, we were trying to show the positive side of things as in the past we have even enjoyed pontins. But admittedly we were surprised on how well the hotel was & at £28 I would of been happy sleeping in a bathtub 🤣😂
They’re probably being refurbished because the “boat people” took one look at the outside, then the room, and said, “No way!”
In honesty I think the refurbishment going on every where at the minute might be due to a cash injection the hotels have had for housing people. We were in Blackpool through the winter and there was alot of non local nor holiday makers in and around alot of the hotels that now have scaffolding and refurbishment happening, makes you think 🤔

I stayed a few times when it was the Hilton. I was shocked when Brittania have bought it. Parking was free a few years ago. I found it to be a really good hotel. You have had a bargain.
We do love a bargain and was super pleased with the price. Spud has stayed previously when it was the Hilton and he loved it. He said not much had changed except the parking charges and charging to use the pool etc. But at the price we paid even paying for those extra wouldn't of been expensive (we parked on street round the back for free 🤣)

We love Blackpool and for the price your not going to get the Ritz but the building does have alot of charm 😊 there is something about the word Blackpool and bargain that seems to marry lol......
I use to work here back when it was a Hilton back in 2009/10, It was about £60 a night then for a standard room like that one.
We have been here a few times when it was the Hilton as it was one of the best in Blackpool, the breakfast was amazing and love the art deco lobby.

We live in North Wales but originally I'm from Morecambe, myself and Spud spent loads of childhood holidays, then nights out as we got older, then finally bringing our son for family trips. Now 20 years old we have brought him for a night out also 😊 we visit Blackpool regularly but our vlogs follow us wherever we end up. Hope you enjoy our vlogs 😊
I stayed there about 20 years ago when it was a Hilton . Still looks pretty decent to be fair and for 28 quid an absolute bargain .
We 1st stayed here when it was a Hilton but never for this price 🤣, I think we paid around £100, I just hope Brittania keeps investing to keep up the quality. Apparently in 2016 they renovated one of the floors. 😊

That was the 1st thing that I said when Spud found it 'Bargain' followed by 'let's go' 🤣 £10 each would of been worth it for breakfast as they offer a buffet breakfast, which we prefer as you can pick and choose what and how much you have.
The only reason we decided against it is we had worked so hard the last few weeks the idea of waking up early for breakfast led us to take the decision to have a sleep in and find a Greggs. So coffee and donut for breakfast it was.

Blackpool is definitely what you make of it. We have a few vlogs from here in fact another should be landing by tomorrow of what we did this time we were there.
We come.back year after year as there is always something going on. And I think its got one of the most eclectic groups of people that visit here and no one seems to bat an eyelid.
