    Beautiful magic! Am going to try these colors. Knowing myself, instead of a lovely wetlands scene it’ll look like a mud-puddle, but who doesn’t like playing in them?💁🏼‍♀️Thanks for sharing👏👏👏

    OH !!!! Do I love this serie, Steve ? ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love waking up in the morning, opening my iPad still in bed and seing that there is a new one ! Thank you, it is very useful and you explain everything so well. I am now mixing more and more my colors to get greens, earthtones, etc. 🙏🙏

    I really admire the way your style has evolved since I first found your channel. Subtle and smooth, yet not by huge bounds, the sense of confidence I get from your work is the same as it was back then, yet, just more profound in the results. Does that make sense? Thank you for sharing this one AND for always encouraging artists to explore their mixing options. Cheers and I hope you and all of yours are well! ~ Mark

      Wow, thanks so much Mark. Yes, it does make sense, and that comment was also profound 😂. Truly though. You know better than many that the teacher learns as much or more than the student in the process of teaching. TH-cam has been one of the best learning experiences of my career. The experimentation it has forced on me has been invaluable not only for imparting information but for building the confidence you mentioned. Thanks as always for the encouraging words!

    Love this series… with so many colors and choices of paint, it’s so nice to go back to the basics to show that you truly don’t need to keep buying all those convenience colors! This makes me want to explore what my current paints can do!

    Thanks so much for another wonderful video! I always enjoy your spontaneous paintings and I always learn something from watching you paint them. I especially like the way you let the piece unfold, adding paint just where it seems to be needed, without planning every brush stroke. Every time I watch you paint this way, I want to run to my studio and paint right away!!

    Hey Steve, Have you done a spontaneous painting in your “ hand-book journal co.” ? I bought one when I saw yours a few yrs back. The texture is very rough. But I love that journal. Not sold anymore, I don’t think. 48 deck led edged Pages. 140/300 gsm . 100% cotton. 9”/6”… I also love it because my last name is Hand. Lol. Making a deckled journal out of Arches, genius. Nice gift! Thanks Steve and God Bless You. - Messy Mendy 🖌

      I don't think I have one in that journal. Haven't looked at it in a while though. Mainly just location sketches I think.

    I'm with you Steve - can't beat the earth colors mixed via transparent pigments!They just glow - like Nature does! You're a master of Jeanne Dobie whether you realize it or not - "making color sing"! And where would we be w/o Transparent Red Iron Oxide?? ;-)

    Steve I am really interested in the brushes that you used. However when I went to web site I couldn't really tell which ones you used. Please send me specific names and sizes of those brushes. They are expensive and I want to try to paint a picture "similar " to yours. I appreciate you so much. Thank you for your love of the Mind of Watercolor.
    God bless

      My pleasure. Both brushes are listed in the video description.The only thing I didn't put was the bristle length. Here they are again.

    @The Mind of Watercolor Steve, my adopted brother is red/green colorblind. He's also an artist & is getting into watercolor after listening to me go on & on about it. I'm curious on your thoughts, obviously, especially concerning color. I'm hoping to be able to create a special palette for him, given his situation. Value, I'd think, would be even more important in this case. I'd like him to be able to see his colorblindness as more of a strength for him rather than a weakness. Art is subjective. No color is the "right" color, meaning that the right color is what you want it to be as the artist. He's self conscious about it due to childhood occurrences. *People especially love Monet's darker, more purple watercolor lilies. They're purple due to the fact his cataracts were altering his view of color.

    • @mindofwatercolor
      @mindofwatercolor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One of my art professors in college was color blind. Did wonderful work. I think painting with value contrast and a harmonious but limited palette is usually key.

    Not sure if its possible or worthwhile to have a digital time counter in the bottom corner of the screen so that as you progress through the painting and when you jump forward or time lapse we can gauge the true painting time and also drying time between various additions to the painting.
