This isn't unlike many of the tutorials one can find here on TH-cam, but it is the information people are looking for so props to that. Personally I think you would have done better to write out a script beforehand and follow that as it would have been more concise and structured. Probably would have cut down on time as well. Also I would have listed the last step as 'optional' because while the other steps are applicable to any vocal recording, adding bass/treble isn't always the way to go. At any rate, good video. It's always a cool thing to try and help people out with tutorials and stuff.
Thanks for input! I'd recommend the last step for people with no acoustic treatment whatsoever but for other people, it will be optional if you have a treated environment. :)
For me, I found that the lowest gain setting (all the way down) and then removing any white noise, after that do the bass and treble 5 times, is what works the best for me
Hello, It seems as if I can not fix the sounds after the noise reduction. It sounds like an echo and my tapping sounds unnatural. I'm so frustrated. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I like making music on audacity and im gonna switch to the yeti for my mic but i wanna know one thing! When i wanna make music, do i plug my headphones in the bottom of the yeti or in the pc?
@@Rycopene Thanks! If I put the headphones into the bottom of the yeti, i will hear the beat and my vocals while recording. But if i just plug headphones into the computer while recording, I will only hear the beat while recording and then my vocals when done?
If you meant the microphone on the headphones, I wouldn't advise it. For any cheap microphone, you can tweak it a little bit to what you think is good. It's all up to you. :)
When I hit record in Audacity, there are two lines (top and bottom), it records only on top line and nothing on bottom. This problem is only with Yeti. I have no issues with realtek pc mics and some other mics. What I might be doing wrong?
Lmao! That’s cool too haha. *Shameless plug - Please watch my The Walking Dead: The Final Season Stream (if ever I successfully stream it next week) :D
Yes! I don't really know the settings between the Yeti and the Audio Interface of your choosing but, you can still improve what you have using the settings. :)
If you’re talking about having the effects done real-time, it does’t work that way. Audacity only works for post prod/after the recording has been done. To record your audio, you obviously need Audacity turned on or recording your audio from a different device then edit the file in Audacity! :)
Regarding your problem, I apologize for the late response. As long as your tower is beside your mic, same table (but far away) or touching your table, it will still emit noise due to the tower's vibration and noise. As much as possible, try to move your mic or tower far away from each other. On a side note, you can buy a shockmount and boom arm to lessen any of those. :)
dude are you sure thats it?! everytime i try what you do i cant manage to have a clear voice like it either too shit or not near perfect even with noise reduction when i get the noise profile!
Sorry for the late reply! Are you sure you're using the blue yeti right? You must speak in front of the mic, not on top! That's usually the case when you don't have a clear voice.
Great video mate. I watched a half a dozen prior and was lost. Thanks for making it much easier!
Glad I was able to help you!

Gee thx for that

Settings will vary if there are acoustic treatments in the area! If none, you really have to resort to the lowest gain settings!
Good job, tho!
Great job. You made it simple enough and not to over technical for novices. I will now set my yeti mic to this instruction. Well done and thank you.
Welcome! :D
thank you this is exactly what i was looking for
Good to hear!

If you want real-time/no latency listening to yourself playing, then plug your headphones straight to the Yeti.
@@Rycopene Thanks! If I put the headphones into the bottom of the yeti, i will hear the beat and my vocals while recording. But if i just plug headphones into the computer while recording, I will only hear the beat while recording and then my vocals when done?
will this work with like cheap microphone and shit?
like razer mic

Apologies for the late response!
On the top options, beside your Mic input, there is a Mono or Stereo option. Use the Stereo Input. :)
great tutorial, thanks boss
Welcome!
what is your gain set to?
I believe it's about 60-75% at the time of recording this video. :)
Rycopene ahhh I got mine low but it’s sounds the same as yours without editing 😂
Lmao! That’s cool too haha.

I recently bought the xlr version of the blue yeti, will this work with that version to?
Yes!
I don't really know the settings between the Yeti and the Audio Interface of your choosing but, you can still improve what you have using the settings. :)
Lets say I'm on discord or have already recorded a video. Will it work on discord? Also, do I have to click the software every time I make a video?

@@Rycopene Ahh, makes sense

how do you set your gain level? where is it at? like how low?
also, viewers, MAX YOUR VOLUMES!!!
A little down below 45 degrees from the left! You set it on the gain knob of the Yeti.
This is the recommended level for a room without acoustic foam or a room filled with rock-type walls.
what happens if I cant find noise removal, but noise reduction?
Stephanoe Its the same thing
Whats ur paypal i would love to get you some lighting equipment 🙄🙄🙄
Gogolatomic he knows that stop trying
