But indian public owing to their greed of mileage and service costs neglected this diamond.
My dad bought this masterpiece 2 months before i was born and I'm 17 now and my dad still drives this car not a single problem and the entire car can be made like new for the price of one time servicing of today's Volkswagen car.

Yo buddy, I have the same 2006 getz gvs 1.3 & I too feel its sluggish in low end & top end. I'm planning to get free flow air filter & maybe ram intake will it help in low end? Is it enough Coz i don't wanna spend on exhaust yet
Exhaust will completely change the car, drivability will improve a lot.... With the filter i would suggest get proper piping done for maximum effect. But exhaust is a value for money mod

@@S11597 just a muffler won't make much of a difference. If you just want to spend on one part i would suggest just get 4*2*1 headers, this will more of a difference than just a muffler

What the exhaust called
I drove the 2005 Top Model Getz GLX (stock) for 15 years, had to sell it for peanuts because of the 15 year rule. It was a rock-solid car that never let me down! The faster you went, the smoother the drive became, as the suspension was rigid, but far better than the DZires and Swifts of the time!
Its rear was a thing of beauty - I've had quite a few cars that would hang on behind me on long trips, just to ogle at the rear of my Getz! 😂
You are right, the Getz had a good mid-range, but the pick up was not impressive and the top just flattened out at around 135 KMPH - it would take a looong time to reach 140 KMPH from there, and no going further! But the best part was, upto 135 KMPH, the Getz NEVER felt like I was losing control! At 140 KMPH though, the whole car would rattle, as if it was going to fall off into pieces! 😂
Being a stock car, my Getz was silent - the only time it sounded like your modded Getz was when the Silencer developed a crack! 😂
Mileage was not too good - I used to get 9 and 10 in bumper-to-bumper city and about 12.5 - 13 on long highway trips. It had some nifty features - like, Clutch Lock: you HAD to press on the Clutch (even if the Gear was in Neutral), before the Engine would start! So much so, that I press the Clutch (on Manual Cars) unconsciously, even when I'm driving other cars!
I will fondly remember my 2005 Getz GLX...
Spoken from heart as a true Getz lover..I got my 15 yr fitness certificate and re-registration done and love driving it in Bangalore ..A true European styled beauty which true car enthusiasts will appreciate in India (inspite of Getz flaws as highlighted)

When I got my Getz, one of my colleagues - a guy who considered himself some kind of an auto enthusiast - wanted to drive. Since it was a custom at our office, I gave him the keys, as I was busy at work. 5 minutes later, he called me from the Reception - he could not start my car. I laughed and told him it had a Clutch lock - one of the first Indian cars in any price bracket to have this little safety feature: the car would never start if it was in Gear, you HAD to press the Clutch, before turning the ignition on!! He never boasted about his auto knowledge - at least in my presence thereafter! 😂
Getz also had a Variable Speed Intermittent Front Wiper: you could not just make the front wiper wipe once every 5 seconds, you could change the frequency to once every 2 seconds and once every 8 seconds too! I have driven more expensive cars since then, but have never seen this feature in any other car! It is a very useful feature too!
The only irritating 'flaw' I had with my Getz was that the pickup was sluggish up till about 3000 RPM. Once one got into the 5th Gear and past 60 KMPH, the car was able to generate twice the power, overtaking literally anything on the road!
It was clearly a case of Gearing, as the Petrol Getz always had a naturally aspirated engine!

2006 GLS model. Very good feel while driving. Mileage on Highway how much? Anyone please reply. I haven't gone on long journey till now with this vehicle. It's giving 9-10 in city with ac on I think.

It depends in the city you live, I'm from Bhopal and easily all parts of Hyundai getz are available here.
I'm having a 2006 getz gls model. Not even faced any issue with it in these 14.5 years...
