Well simply he said IF the x axis intercepts are -1,1 what the equation will be he made it up but mathematically it would be wrong and the equation of x(v) and y(v) is used to find vertices it's actually the main purpose x and y have and after you find them the vertices equation will be (x(v),y(v))
