Hello, love the color of your umg10, I bought the same wheels, but in black, on ebay and love them. I was wondering if I should put that mutch weight on this truck. I have a trx4 and put a lot of weight and there is sommes places my friends can go that I cant because of the over weight of the trx4 and maybe the missing weight of the umg
Dany Tremblay thx man! Yeah it’s a trade off. Weight down low will lower center of gravity and stabilize the rig. But it can also cause the rig to lose traction on a steep incline because of the added weight. It’s all about preference. I suggest you try the rig without the weight first and determine if you need it. I run mine with brass knuckles and brass on the rear lockouts and my buddy runs his stock. I’ve noticed he rolls over and I don’t. but he can climb up vertical hills with less effort than mine.
@@krlaturn Thanks for your reply, I tried it stock but it was not really a performer and now added the brass knucles and a 8mm alu hex on each wheel, will add the metal wheels this week end and a brass diff cover later just to see how it goes. I will add a servo winch when I receive the servo and Steering Gear Servo Winch Wheel. I really like the work you have put in your truck :)
Hey, I have a question. I’m attempting to install the same wheels on my UMG as well, but it seems that the axles are a little too long to put the caps on, and the hexes are too narrow to tighten the wheel down. Did you guys have these issues?
sarantis haritopoulos yes, I used these 9mm offset 12mm hexes. Link below rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F303232759617
Alientac Wheels how hard are they to put together do you have to take out all those little screw every time you what to remount new tires is there a video out there put a set together IM new to Beadlock what wheels Are easy to put together brands thanks jim
james Rockford there are five screws in the rear that hold the halves together. They are easy. But you must install all the screws the first time to assemble
pedro da costa thx for the comment friend. The grill is from Shapeways. Here is a link. www.shapeways.com/product/PQNCAEPJP/umg1001-grill-standard-issue
john basterson it’s all about preference. I personally do not like the stock grill. It looks too modern for the body. The Shapeways grill just looks more era correct
KYX makes awesome parts!!! I installed capital KYX axle housings on my TRX4 BRONCO and man they were the perfect weight I was expecting. I used YR brass front bumper, HR brass portal covers, and their shock tower mounts. YR sshock towers, TREAL servo mount, motor mount cover, Mamba X with 1406 Castle 4600kv and it was a blast on just 2S, crawled great in low and would haul ass when I wanted it to
Jason Smith sr every esc has its limitations, but the 1/10 mamba x is basically a 1/8 esc. Basically you can pair any motor but you must check the manual first. The bigger the battery the lower the kv needs to be
Sven M. Groth here are the ones I used. They required slight modification at the front near the bumper and at the rear where they meet the sliders. But they are pretty easy to cut with s dremel
Hi. Very good video but for problems with the language I can not know where you can get that front grill with round headlights. Can you tell me where you get is grill? Thank you
@@krlaturn Found them on eBay from Alientac today even cheaper than the site with free shipping. Ordered. UMG 10 kit was already on the way as well. So glad I seen your truck with those wheels. I'm sure I'll be purchasing others from them. Thanks!
Jose Depacos you will need these as well because the axle shaft is too long to install the center cap. this also makes the stance wider and it works great!
