Wheelbase, I really don't mind that its a short one, means its going to be more to scale when out with the other rigs. Should have mine here today. lol, don't even have it yet and already bought upgrades.. Beeftubes two piece axles, Team KnK axle trusses, Deadloc portals, underdrive for the rear. As for electronics, Team Brood Creep 27t, HW 1080, Pwr HD 25kg servo, Ikonnik receiver. Probably be my cheapest build yet, lol.
Just got one. Ordered the Mercedes grille from Shapeways and the metal forward battery relocation tray and bumper / servo mount from Club 5 Racing for moving the weight forward.
Love your reviews man they're really awesome! Haven't bought one yet but I'm planning and really appreciate your comprehensive content. One suggestion is if you could incorporate a directional Mic for your studio recording...that plastic rustling sound gets a little tedious LOL

Sure, some guys will squak about not having Portals, some about the short Wheelbase, which is more Scale than a long one would be!!.... And some undereducated Snowflake might scream about that "Nazi Helmet" Comment..... At the end of the day this is an awesome Kit!! Even though reasonably priced, I can't afford one. Looks like it really preforms well with the short wheel base, to bad it's so ugly. Either get the rights to a body so you can have decals/real grills or go with your own, not in-between. That's my 2 cent's. Always enjoy your video's thanks.
It's the ung hard to build... I try to do the scx10 3 and hated it nothing went where it was supposed to and if it didn't it clicked like it was going to blow up help
I’m still “meh” about this. I love axial, have a bomber, a wraith, and a crc scx10ii. I really want to love the 1.9 wraith but having handled a few of them I don’t. I dig the Unimog body, but this doesn’t seem to be much more than a rebodied Deadbolt, although the shocks and universals are definitely an upgrade. Long story short Axial, give me a 1.9 Wraith kit along the lines of my Bomber kit and I’m back on board,. Til then, if I really want a Unimog I’ll rebody my TRX4 kit...complete with scale correct portals.
All Axials are re-bodies of other models so I don't buy new models just the body I want. I just put my TRX-4 portals under an Axial chassis and will buy this UMG body since I cant find a UniMog body unless the Tamiya body works. Would like to find a hardbody UniMog.
Outdoors Life There is an eBay company selling Unimog hardbodies in a few different configurations, I’ve seen one of those same bodies in a Scale Builders Guild video as well. I’ve been converting my CRC to an Xtraspeed jk hardbody as a side project for a while now and I’d assume those are more work than mine is, although I’d wager the rtr trans fits real nice under that unimog body, not so good under the Jeep.
Really dig the kit but, for me a Unimog without portals is just not worth it. I was thinking Traxass or Redcat would have done this kit first. Nice review, would of enjoyed some action shots though.
Someone has already swapped trx4 portals on one of these already. Its on TH-cam. Then it was honestly impressive as hell and made me want one of these now. Otherwise i was with you man
Everyone who say that AXial unimog is beautiful body should visit eye doctor. Tamyia have beautiful unimog body. Be honest in this. Idea is great, rear is ok, but front cabin is not there at all. @@RCReviewChannel that is true, Tamiya is more like pro toy company. They started ok, bud slept away. To Horizont bodies, I don`t expect from them to have more licensed bodies. From my point of view they should design own body, not mess up with real truck body in case of UMG, they should just make it their own, because it looks now like cheap chinesse copy of Unimog, where you are aware that it can`t be proportional or look similar to original. Which is sometimes worst case than to make your own body ( examples of 50USD truck on aliexpress ). But that is my opinion. I think that is better option to buy TRX4 Sport kit, body from Tamyia and bed from axial and combine it together to really have unimog

I know. Our mic is very good but I kept crumpling the plastic in front of the mic. Live and learn.

The VS4-10 is more a comparison on the plastics quality, precut and detail.
