I'm just starting to use the structure gel, I apply one thin coat onto foundation coat and then i was applying gel polish. Is it neccessary to buff the stucture layer and if so do I need to cleanse nail before doing polish? Thanks Tonja , I enjoy your videos your fellow Ontarian
💃🏻thanks! I’m looking for a simple way to extend and/or fortify my natural nails before doing nail stamping or fancy polishes, yet I still prefer my nails not too long.
I have short thin nails and bought the Gelish clear structure gel to add strength and harden my nails and wanted to know do I need to cleanse the structure gel before applying the gel color or can I simply apply it after I cure the structure gel?
Nice video, the only information missing that would be good to add is how long do you cure each coat, yes it’s on the bottles, but different technicians use different curing times.
Hi! Informative video ;) I have a questions about prep-I have the ProBond but not the pH Bond. Can a 70% alcohol wipe do the job of pH Bond? Also, someone “officially trained” by Gelish overseas told me that ProBond was not appropriate with Structure, only pH Bond; do you know anything about how Structure reacts with or holds onto these 2 bonders?
th-cam.com/video/YrBvZNOeDZw/w-d-xo.html I do my nails using gelish and I do use tips in the same sort of way just have to prep it accordingly and the apex
Does this gel structure make your nail hard because I’m looking for a gel that makes the nail hard the reason is because I have my long nails or my own and they are very thin & im looking for something to put over so they can be thick.
since I buff or finish file, the product would be removed from the tip. so i just dont bother. I haven't had any problems thus far. But I always cap the tips of gel polish, top coat, ect.
Hey there! I have a question related to this product. I bought the clear version of the Gelish brush on structure gel... I've done everything in this tutorial except the Gelish primer because I dont have that. Does it really make a big difference to use it?? I'm getting frustrated because I'm getting lifting especially at the free edge of my fingernail...do u have any suggestions for me? Thanks!
Hmmm. I generally try to used the prep products that are part of the system, the pro bond is kind of like double sided tape and adds additional adhesion. But I also feel like its a marketing scam haha. first try removing the oils from the nail with rubbing alcohol and maybe try even thinner coats or maybe even one coat of the structure gel before spending the extra money. I have found that the more flexible the natural nail, the thinner the product, allows it to flex with the nail without lifting. and dont forget cuticle oil!! If you're still having an issue than I would try the pro bond. Everyone's nails are different, I dont NEED the probond but my mum and sister do. I hope this helped! thanks for watching!!!
The light of the lamp also is importante, I bought the clear one and, and I’m trying to put little by little, i used to use a 6 led lamp and is a scam it takes a lot of time, now I use a 40w led lamp and it’s super different, I also use ph and primer but in another brand
Primer, like Gelish ProBond, may be unnecessary for some nails, like mine. It will make removal more difficult, but if you’re getting lifting, ProBond may be worth it. Prep products, like “pH Bond” dehydrate and remove oils from the nail, and are usually a mix of alcohol and acetone. If your prep includes using alcohol to clean the nail, you may not see much benefit from products like pH Bond, but following manufacturers’ directions is always the safer way.
@@sandrastreifel6452 My issue is the same as Sarah above. I've used the probond with foundation after filed and wiped. I don't get on my skin and i do thin layers. It still lifts after 3 days. Help? Cannot find any videos that will help me.

Those are considered short? Lol that’s the length I’m trying to get to! Lol

I always follow manufacturer cure times. They are there for a reason.
If you were going to put polish over this would you use another base?
Nope!
Can you use regular nail polish on the structure gel. And use the gel top coat?
I wouldn’t recommend using regular polish with a gel topcoat unless the polish is 100% dry. Which is about 24 hours.
Hi , do i have to buff after gel ? If i want to carry on top coat on the top ?
Can you use any gel bonder
I would use the primers and bonders that are from the same brand.
I'm thinking of using this as an underlayment so that I don't have to totally remove my gel for polish changes.
That’s perfect!
Can you use regular nail polish on top of the structure gel then use a top coat? Or is that bad?
kelley garcia: You can use any nail lacquer over gel, but if you want to use a gel topcoat, make sure the lacquer is COMPLETELY dry, first.
@@sandrastreifel6452 thank you!! I wasn't sure because you don't see a lot of people doing that.
You are a Hoot to watch!
Keep doing you

Use any bond go with the base gel you use before apply the structure coat
Thanks for this tutorial!
Have you used this as an extension? Over a tip or sculpture to build a nail enhancement?
I have not. I don't know if it would be strong enough. But i'm adding it to my list of things to try!!
i tried and it is not strong enough!!

I wouldn’t suggest mixing brands, especially when the product is touching the nail.
How long do you cure in lamp
However long the instructions say. Every brand is different.

It will certainly add thickness and strength to your nails!
How well (easily) does this soak off if I'm using the whole system?
I don’t think it soaks off as well as just gel polish. But it is possible if you’re patient. I prefer to file off product in general anyway.
Is there a reason why you don't cap the tips?
since I buff or finish file, the product would be removed from the tip. so i just dont bother. I haven't had any problems thus far. But I always cap the tips of gel polish, top coat, ect.
@@TonjaWatts AH okay! Thanks for the reply! =)
Hello, any reason that you didnt build up the apex or short nails dont need a build up? Thanks new to this
My understanding is that short nails don't need an apex like long ones do. Nail Career Education has a video on short nails that talks about this.
@@pandamnk3 thank i will check it out. Be happy be safe xx
Amanda is absolutely correct!
Do you have to cure after using the primer?
No primer doesn't need to cure
Wait don’t you cure anything in between coats? Looks like you cleansed without curing..
