Hopelessly torn in a 3-way tie for what's more phenomenal. . . Your end product, your subtle (silent) process/delivery, or the sound track. DAMN! This is so well done, sir!
Thanks for your nice words!
Well said.
Big woodworking youtubers could learn some things from you, nice job
Thank you! Although I would prefer to be one of those big TH-camrs and learn things from a small one like me.
I've been working with wood since the late 60's.
THIS??
Exquisite out of the box pure art!!
Salute to you young man! 🫡
A nice compliment coming from someone with so much experience. Thank you very much!

Two months later and I had to watch it again. The craftsman and presentation are amazing!! People have no idea the labor that goes into creating such art work! Again, I applaud you!
That is one AUmazing table! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks a lot
This quite possibly could be the greatest wood working video I’ve ever seen. SUBSCRIBED
I'm glad to hear that!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Many thanks!
The desk is absolutely perfect!
I'm glad you like it
Your attention to detail is so satisfying to watch yet gives me anxiety. Amazing!
Why anxiety??
@@marmotaworkstrying to do it because I'm the same way with less skills. 😂
Best table I've seen made yet
Thanks a lot!
Wood God I love it ! I know it would be hard as hell but a small table with the edges left natural would be FAB.
Stay well my friend. X
Thanks! Maybe I'll try it sometime
I love the combination between wood and metal!!! Stunning!!!
Thank you !!
Thanks for the video! Wow! What a lot of work you put into the table! It looks beautiful! I can think of several places where it might work even in my small home. Thanks!
Thanks! it's not too big, you can place it everywhere
Wow that's a beautiful table/desk
Many thanks
You just helped me on the final step in building my lilac table top. Thank you!!! Awesome job by the way!!
I'm glad to hear that!
I don't know if i like the combinaison or not BUT I love this process, the idea and the sharing of technic, well done !!!!
Thanks for watching!
Magnifique ❤. Bravo l'artiste
😊
I wouldn't have had the patience for the metal sawing. I totally would've just used epoxy with silver dye to fill the holes because I'm lazy. 😊 This turned out gorgeous!
I'm glad you like it
Shows what a few tools and a lot of talent can do.
Thanks for your nice words!
I have to pick on the ONLY thing possible for my aesthetics, maybe a little more metal?. This is so sick. I initially thought it was silver or white in the epoxy. I can’t even imagine how you thought this up, but do it again and again. I always like the look of wood, but I’m getting turned into liking the way you did the metal more. It’s hard to stop lauding this.
Thank you!! I'm glad you like it
Absolutely beautiful job l really admire your work done baby huh 😎😯🥺👍
😁
Sanding black locust.... like sanding concrete.... would loved to have known how long that took. Amazing work!!! Cookies are soooo available too. Thanks and good luck on the next project.
You are right. That's took too many hours...
Amazing work thank you for sharing it, Hello from Nicaragua
Thanks for watching
Nice work,I love to watch your vlog
Many thanks!
this is by far your best project. I keep on guessing how would you put metal in it and its was genius!
Thanks!! It was not easy... 😅

Absolutely beautiful..I luv watching your videos
Thanks a lot!
Excellent, the idea, the making and the result
I'm glad you like it!
Great Video and nice table, Brass inlays would also look awsome
Thanks! I've thought too about Brass
That's beautiful!!
Thank you!!
Beautiful work!
Thank you!!
Nice desk! Here is an idea for a future project. When you cut the pieces to final arrangement use a flush trim for half of the depth and route the edges by certain amount. That will create a fixed border for each pieces yet meeting at bottom. Now fill that with a resin with some shimmering metallic stuff followed by clear. That should look really awesome I think.
That sounds good. I'll take note.
A beautiful piece.
Many thanks!
Amazing work! You did it again ❤❤❤
Many thanks!
another beautiful piece. love your work and love your videos.
I'm glad you like my work

Grazie mille
Stunning as usual!
Thanks!!
We have black locust here in Texas. I've probably have cut about 50 cords of it for firewood. It's a pretty wood and makes great firewood. If the black locust trees are close to you, might want to look into getting a honeybee hive. My grandpa has told me that it makes damn good honey. Another tree here is called Osage orange, bodark is another name. It's a pretty wood as well. Downside is, it's heavy.
The black locust is one of my favorite woods. Very hard, durable, and also beautiful. If it's not used more, it's because the trees don't grow very large, and wide boards can't be obtained from them.
@@marmotaworks That is true. The size is one reason why I liked it for firewood. But it does grow fast. I caution people that want to plant it. It spreads fast. You can plant a tree and it'll grow from the roots from the original tree
The Osage orange is pretty but I quit very quickly into my first project as it was going through tool blades faster than anything Iv ever cut. Makes walnut look like butter!!
Nice work coming over from TT and have to say this was so enjoyable to watch ❤
I'm glad you like it
Magnifique travail. Bravo
Merci beaucoup
Another great video. Another great table!
Thanks Peter!
I'd buy floating shelves from you, in this technique. Amazing! I have enough tables but I don't have shelf space. I like things silver, black and grey. No browns or yellows.
It's not a bad idea to make floating shelves
@@marmotaworks Right! And I'm in Sweden so shipping wouldn't be too awful!
Your editing is 👍🏽
Thanks!
It's a really beautiful table / desk.
Thanks a lot!
As always I love the precision of the puzzle and the playfulness of your video editing :)
In this particular piece I like the light band at the outside of the logs, it gives the edges a nice touch. Also a fan of the addition of the metal. If you could somehow integrate fire (maybe char some of the wood?), air and water you could create a five elements piece!
Thank you! That wouldn't be easy to make... ,😅
@@marmotaworks True, air bubbles and water don't go too well with epoxy :D
Good job men 👍
😀
Super video 👍
😄
Very beautiful!
Many thanks
Please, be careful of your fingers when sawing. Take it as good advice from someone who sawed off his left thumb in a similar saw to yours. They managed to save my thumb but it will never be what it was.
Do you mean the band saw?
@@marmotaworks what could be else
How was happened??? I mean, your thumb sawed off
Excelente trabajo 👍👌
Muchas gracias
Good work 👍
Thank you!
I have been wanting to do a project like this for a while so it was cool to see your process. The steel is a neat idea but, for myself, doesn't seem like it's worth the work. Still, knowing that the polyethylene will not stick to epoxy is a useful tidbit to know. Thanks for the video.
Thanks! I'm glad to help.

There's not much that beats the beauty of woodgrain. Excellent build video. 1 question--How dry was the locust when you build the table?
Thanks! About 8% moisture
New sub earned pal.... Solid content.
Much appreciated.
Thanks for the sub!
Wow!! Amazing!!
Thank you Isa!
AWESOME ❤❤❤
😀
Top looking table. I was wondering what you were doing with all the small pieces of HDP. I really like what you did with them to put the pieces of steel into the top. It looked good once finished.
I'm glad you like it
Show, arrebentou!!!
Thanks
You've really taken this idea and run with it. Beautiful, but I liked it better with the HDPE instead of the steel - it had luminosity and depth that the steel lacks. As you've proven before, you are a consummate craftsman and artist.
It's clear that it's a matter of personal taste. Thank you!
lovely video
Thank you!
Wonderful!!!!
Thanks!
It’s cool 👌
😃
It became a work of art 😃😃
😄
Great. Kudos!
Thanks!
Vary nice.
Thanks!!

Thanks
This is exceptionally beautiful work, but a major issue is how the top looks after a year or two. Cracks? Fading? Discoloring?
Don't worry, if the wood is properly dried, it will hold up well.
Gorgeous work, as usual. Loved the steel.
What’s your process for drying out the wood before you use it?
I have my own small kiln

Just found your web site, fantastic both in viewing your works and the way you format your social media posts.
Question, how dry are the biscuits that you use when pouring the epoxy? Are they below 10%? Have you encountered problems usually associated with work that is too wet over time?
Cheers, Tom
Thank you! I'm glad you like my work. For this type of tables, I always use wood that is below 8%.
Thank you. I’m planning to continue following your work. It’s my hope that your channel becomes most successful for you.
@@tomleed2818 Many thanks.
I believe you could use tin too.
Its a matter of price.
Yes, but it would scratch more easily
Very nice, beautiful project. Love "Oyster" veneering jobs, and hope to try some eventually; epoxy certainly seems a good method.
I didn't understand why you didn't just leave the UHMW plastic in; it seemed to look good itself. Did you consider using chunks of WOOD in those gaps before filling with epoxy?
Thanks! In other projects like this, I usually fill the gaps with pieces of wood, but this time I wanted to try something different.
Not easy
It can be a good idea
wunderbar!
Qual espessura final?
Qual madeira vc usou?
Muito obrigado!
Muito obrigado! 4cm thick. it's black loctus
I wonder if it does not cause any trouble to cut it with a chainsaw as the oil from the chain can get on the wood and the epoxide might not adhere properly 🤔. Btw nice job
Well, it's something I hadn't considered. I suppose the oil released by the chainsaw isn't enough to cause issues. I've made many tables like that, and I've never had adhesion problems.
Thank you!
Couldn't you use bar magnets to hold the steel pieces in place, instead of the glue and wooden strip?
Yes, that would be a good idea
How do you keep track of what cookie goes were, especially when you stack them to build the mold?
I have numbered them.
Do you ever do anything with the bark? As someone who doesnt have the skills or a clue I'd be interested to see how a table made with the bark and resin would look.
The bark is very soft, and it would need to be sealed with epoxy. Personally, I don't like sealing tables with epoxy; I prefer the feel of the wood.
Did you dry the cookies or check for moisture content? Top looks wonderful and it did not take many tools to create great concept my only thought I would have used a metal that is not subject to oxidation/rust (318 SS, Ti etc.) or blued/coated the steel to stabilize. Ray Stormont
Of course, the wood is dry; this project wouldn't be possible with wet wood. No problem, it's stainless steel.
