Having experienced both headphones I tend to agree with your observations. The H95 has the style and quality whilst the PX8, by no means lacking in quality, takes the prize for better sound quality. Both are luxury products but for me, the music quality is paramount so it’s the Px8 for me.
I had B&W entry level and I was satisfied with sound quality (I'm a Bose guy when I tried Sony I gave them back immediately) so I think B&W is more similar to Bose, correct?
I recently bought the B&W Px7 S2 recently which are similar to the PX8, albeit slightly downmarket, but the H95 just exudes quality and luxury. They look beautiful and the volume and ANC rotary dials look like a brilliant idea. But as you say there are other things to consider when choosing a pair of headphones.
Incredible review. I will be listening to both of them in person tomorrow but this gave me exactly the perspective I needed going into the listening. I think in the end I will go with the PX8 because of the vocals and volume since I will be using them on house music when in the gym and traveling. They are also thinner and fit easier in a laptop back pack.
It all comes down to preference: so try to test them both and then make your decision. That was the way I did it 2 years ago. Still very happy with my H95. But, he, make your own decision after testing.
Thanks for a great and thorough review of these two top performing bluetooth wireless headphones. I ended up buying the PX8 in part because of the streamlined fit. Your review allowed me to clearly see how both headphones look when being worn out and about on an average sized head. I think the H95 looks large and bulky on the head due to the flat pad and protruding conical control plates. I think the PX8 sits more compactly on the ears, and has a more integrated build. It does not stick out as much. I was also wary of the H95's volume issues. And then there is the price difference.
Would like some feedback on how the PX8s go on calls in normal office environments? I don't often make calls in noisey places, but better ANC is important to me.. and I feel like B&W support/longevity is better. B&O don't offer any parts or repairs on their gear outside of warranty - which commits $1600 headphones to landfill in 3 years! Thats pretty disappointing. I currently have HXs, EQs and have had H9is and E8s - but I am tending towards giving B&W a try this time.
I own the H95 and want to sell them because of a "pzzzzzz" sound during calls while transparency mode on. I went to hifi shop and tried out the following models during a noisy environment: -Beoplay H95 -Focal Bathys -Solitaire T -Bowers and Wilkins PX8 I have a Samsung Note 20 Ultra. Let me be clear: they all sucked however the call quality of the PX8 was by far the best. The biggest disappointment was the Focal Baths. That was unusable.
yeah I feel the same way. For me the Focal bathys was the worst of the lot especially in windy area. like litrally chopped off my voice to an extent where the other person on the call did not even hear a full sentence. But I would also recommend the PX8 for call quality. They have done a better job.
@@karolykrausz5534 I picked up a pair of h95 used and it was affected by buzzy transparency on calls. I returned them too. I have HXs and EQs currently, neither behave like h95s. I don’t know if it was a large batch of bad units, as a lot of people report they are great. I think H95s sound amazing, the sub bass response compared to my HXs is amazing as is the better isolation for ANC, but I am really not sure if I can risk buzzing and Bluetooth noise. Surely they aren’t all like that?
@TECHKNOW BIZ I own the momentum 4 from Sennheiser and I want a pair of headphone that neutralizes the drawbacks and negatives of the momentum. Which one which you recommend among H95, Px8, and Bathys?
I love the Bathys and the PX8 personally. So I would recommend either of the both. But if you are after a more balanced sound signature then the H95 for sure.
i am struggling between the Bathys and the h95, both have excellent sound quality but I tend to have a more natural sound. But I also want the sound to be spacious because i often use my headphones to watch movies.
I had a pair of momentum 4, excelent sound, but not a great noise canceling and poor build quality and anoying touch pad, still I miss that sound and i'll buy them again. I own now a pair of PX 8 and I love them in every aspect but somehow after testing the H95 I kind of want that type of sound more! Dont get me wrong , px 8 have a crisp and cristal clear sound but somehow, for me at least, the warm sound of h95 cannot be besten!
I'm choosing between PX8 and HX (pretty similar to H95). What would be better for modern active music? Seems like PX8? B&O seems are better for vocal, classic etc. 🤔
Hi, I am currently using H95 but I have got very good opportunity to sell it. Would I be doing mistake if I trade it for PX8? I absolutely love sound of H95, are PX8 good enough? I had PX7 before and I found them nowhere near as good as H95 so is there big improvement between PX7-8?

Heard many say prefer px8 . In sound demos bathys sound a little light and detailed.. personally have other wired headphones far better for that. Recently bought px8 and love the lush sound
When I tested the Px8, my big issue was that the bass was making the voice muddier. So I went for the px7 instead :) I still think the sound is better on the h95 tho.
Yeah H95 are really good. Always gives the same performance in all kinds of Genres. With the PX8 some tweaking is required in certain genres to get the best out of them

@Aglassofwine14 interesting you mentioned the B&W, I've recently purchased both the B&W Px8 and the B&O H100 and am on the fence to decide the winner here.
Sorry, but PX8 is basically a copy-cat cheaper version of H95. Especially if you take a look at their burgundy and white colours, you'll see how unoriginal bowers&wilkins is. It's a shame, and I'm surprised they're not sued yet.
To all those who read reviewers' reviews of Bowers & Wikins PX8, please don't believe them at all because I am Singaporean and purchased my Bowers & wikins on 18th September 2023 from Jaben Singapore. Totally disappointing and not cheap at SGD 935.00. The sound quality is a complete let down as they claim the sound is ever so good I can honestly tell you it is complete rubbish why the bass frequencies are very boomy and muddy sound instead of clean bass. The mid-range vocals are very suppressed and lack richness and warmth. After adjusting the equalizer settings, the high frequencies are very bright sounding. The noise canceling is the worst, when I turn on the active noise canceling I 100% hear the noise of the standing fan wind spinning. Overall, everything claimed by those reviewers on TH-cam is untrue as they did not purchase the Bowers & wikins PX 8 themselves but loaned it to them for review purposes only. And you now could see a new Royal Burgundy color of B&W PX8 in their stores
Great detailed review! As soon as you said the H95 needs 100% volume all the time, that was the dealbreaker for that. I'm going for the PX8
