This is such a powerful song, written by Angelina about her late grandfather. The artwork for the video was done by Angelina and her grandmother. The combination of the song and the video is so incredible. She has dedicated the song to anyone who has lost a loved one. She wrote, "I hope this song finds a place in your heart as it comes straight from mine".... I think this song is going to find a place in many, many hearts around the world.
@Todd S I'm not really sure what is going on with it. I have not been able to find _any_ evidence of Republic promoting this song (or Angelina) anywhere. It is possible that they are saving their promotions for her first full album release.

Angelina is a bright star bringing light to a dark, troubled world during a pandemic. Most of us have lost a loved one recently, like Angelina lost her grandpa in 2018 and she has magic in her voice to help us properly grieve and feel whole again. Angelina's body may be 14 but her soul is as old as the hills.
2020 was crazy. I lost 3 loved ones. Others I know lost or got major illness. Grim reaper on fire. It all started with kobe Bryant plane crash.

She wrote this for her grandfather who passed, they were very close. She also dedicated a cover of You Were Always On My Mind to her grandfather. It was sad to see her perform because she broke down towards the end, she almost made it, but it got her and everybody else who was watching. I'm a 56 year old guy and she had me in tears and blubbering like a baby.

Others have told you all about Angelina's inspiration for writing this song. I wanted to tell you that the drawings in the lyric video were done my Angelina herself and her grandma who's an artist. That, IMO, makes it so much personal and intimate.
Anyone can relate to the song who had lost a loved one. This is Angelina's gift to the world in a terrible year, bringing some comfort saying they are always with us "I'm never alone". ♥

All I can say is WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! The thing about Angelina is that I am sure I could hear one of her songs for 2 seconds and be able to identify her voice!!! It blows me away that at 14 years old she can write lyrics with such depth and soul. By contrast comments for youtube videos is the limit of my literary talent.

You can hear it a million times, I'm on the right track to do it and move me every time ... and I love Grandma's drawings, they're so "right" for Angelina's voice and story. That slow progress of Angelina on the stairway to the moon is of infinite sweetness, it's a beautiful portrait of her 🤗
Remember that Angelina is not only what you saw in this perfect performance, she is much more, even very different, but everything she does is at a superlative level, she sang about 130 different interpretations, including covers, songs written for her and her originals written between 11 and 12 years old, if they seem enough.

Nice reaction :) OMG this girl is a genius. You mentioned Amy Winehouse. I agree but only for the voice. The song wasn’t really an Amy thing, so I’ve described it as kinda like if Amy was singing Adele. 😂 But it’s really pure Angelina.
I reeeaaally felt the struggle you were having. I’ve been crying off and on all day when time I listen to this song thinking about my dad, mother and brother. And it also makes a guy think about his relationship with his own kids. Sometimes I listen to it and don’t even process the words but get overwhelmed by the beauty of the melody and overall production. The reverb we feel throughout the song literally echos the feelings of longing and negative space in the text. Ant there is of course a positive, upbeat layer to the song, but it is also an emotionally intense one.

Cathy That was her paternal grandfather. This song was a tribute to her maternal grandfather who passed in 2019.

She is a great talent and this is her 3rd song on her grandfather. An old soul but not yet a happy one. I think Autumn leaves was the best. It was a deeply tender song of remorse, feeling more could have been given to the loved one. On one version she broke up and cried before finishing. Bohemian Rapsody she made into a simple elegant epitaph but it missed the mark in expressing what dying is like. For an old sick person, the end is just letting the bird out of cage. Lines like “ I wish I never been born at all” are such a negative reflection on life. Having lost both my parents and about 20-30 friends over 25 years I know quite a bit about what people go through in those last moments.
She said something along the lines that she hoped when you hear it, this would find a place in your heart. Good lord, I think she accomplished her goal! Not to shabby for an artists first time out on a label. I imagine the execs at Republic are doing back flips and giving each other high fives.
All loyal Angelina fans should buy 1 C/D or go to I Tunes, or Amazon Prime, and buy for yourself and family. Just listening to her on U Tube will not help as much as "Putting your money where your mouth is". The Recording Industry can be so cruel. They will only keep a Artist that produces revenue. We all love Angelina so much,so we must support her. Buy Big! If she sell enough to go Platinum on her first try it would show the world that she is a force to be reckoned with. That would be Fantastic. Angelina is fantastic.
