    That's a great video! it truly shows how Mitsubishis AWC system is far better than it's competitors.

    @Loscaldazar - you are right... suspension - steering rack - weight distribution - unsprung etc. - all have an effect on handling...regardless of whether you have AWD - RWD or FWD. that is more evident in racing than in street cars... but absolutely true.

    theres no question about one thing, when it comes to driving, mitsubishis do drive better than pretty much all their competitors.

    @NateFosterSR It could just be the regular AWC (4WD). It all depends on the marketing time and place; for instance, the 2011 gets the 10hp power boost as an example to minor changes. It will say on your control panel (or even by the knob) S-AWC (it has tarmac, snow and lock)

    Seeing the Lancer Sportback reminded me how much I wanted one of those before they discontinued in the US. WHY!!!!???

    For the Outlander - I'm wondering what the mechanical difference is between 4wd snow and 4wd lock.....Jeep and ford are doing this too (offering different "modes" in 4wd - snow, rock, etc.) so I'm wonder what the difference is between 4wd lock and 4wd snow in terms of how the 4wd system distributes power. Example: If 4wd lock lets the system synchronize all 4 wheels to spin at the same speed if needed, why is there a need for a "snow" mode? I'm not being sarcastic but am genuinely interested.

    These systems are great when new.....but how do they hold up after 200,000 miles? Really not trying to be a sarcastic a-hole but I keep vehicles until they die so I'm interested in knowing the durability - assuming that I won't beat the crap out of it and will keep up with reg. maintenance intervals - both of which I do.

    @Loscaldazar im sorry but you dont live in our world do you, mitsubishi has not only won rally for the evo theyve won the dakar rally for the pajero that is excellent offroad. mitsubishis awd system is the best and theres proof.

  • @boyishiyah

    @Loscaldazar im sorry but i wasnt talkin bout snow only i was talking about rocks,sand,ect.
    yah but if it had fwd it wld do 60+ mpg :P
    i dont care who invented what first nobody does cause its bout who perfects it.
    the biggest comparison to show u which AWD is best is the evox vs wrx sti.we all know which 1 is betta.
    i love sub but when it comes to choice it always comes 2nd to me behind the evo and behind the pajero sorry :)

    Soapy tarp on a flat ground, lol. Then you see the front wheels spin before power is transferred to the rear. That's why Subaru are so good. They have power to all wheels. Maybe they would be better to show their system on a more slippery surface like gravel. Driving around on asphalt would look the same in 2wd.

      honestly kinda sucks that Mitsubishi does some stupid things because their cars are actually pretty solid especially in the colder climate Canada but the killed they lancer here. Would've loved the newest lancer instead they keep the absolutely shit mirage and the Ralliart/Evo are just ridiculous for transmission costs i cannot justify buying a mitsu car only SUV's they don't bring their trucks or big suv's here

    Coming from an STI guy.. The Mitsubishi's have a better AWD system, However, the AWD system in a Mitsubishi feels too gamey for my liking.

    @cdawg4391 If you do much offroading, you'll beat a crap out of any AWD vehicle, unless it's a offroad-specialist car (Pajero, Prado, Patrol, 4Runner, etc). If you don't offroad much, they'll do just fine.

  • @wolfdima
    @wolfdima 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @cdawg4391 4wdLock locks 50 % (up to 70 %) of torque to rear axle.

    I'll take a rear wheel drive car on a dry track any day of week. A soapy tarp to show awd drive. Hahaha

    @Loscaldazar told u. u dont live our world cause u just got back to me.
    lol im sorry but mitsu has experience in offroad and onroad meaning 4wd and awl. while i doubt suburu can go offroad. all AWC mitsu have center diff. cause its well known that all wheel drive cost more and isnt as fuel efficient as front wheel drive thats why and small cars dont need AWD only rally cars and suvs and cuvs and sport cars.
    all mitsus suvs and cuvs come with 4wd or AWC.

    @Loscaldazar range rovers r crap and unreliable.pajero is a real offroader even with my stock tires it doesnt bog down in really softsand.
    subarus r awsome like i said but i like mitsus more and i dont like toyota but they r extremely reliable.
    at the end of the day its just my opinion :)
    my experience with mitsus has been g8 not once broke down.
    i dnt own an evo bytheway, i have a pajero 2010 3 door and the rest of my bros drive mitsus 2.

    outlander is a shit fucking vehicle, not talking mechanically just in praccticality had for a year now not pleased.. if the cargo is full and we have three people in the back it handles very poorly and the suspension tends to bottom out on larger bumps. brutal.
