Old enough to remember playing these. Activision had the best programmers, they knew how to get the most out of that meager hardware. Pitfall II, Hero, Dolphin, River Raid, they were great games for the time.
Thanks for this video! I had several Activision games, but not most. David Crane and Daniel Kitchen and the others did such a great job on these games.
As a kid, I would play 2600 games on my 7800. The Activision ones were my favorite of the 2600 games. This is what I owned: Pitfall Kaboom (inherited from a neighbors plus paddle controllers) Keystone Kapers Commando (Activision did the 2600 port--I wanted the 7800 one, but couldn’t afford it, so I grabbed this one from the bargain bin). Ice Hockey. I have since played all of the others on various retro gaming devices. I would have loved River Raid and H.E.R.O. back in the day.
Out of all of the retro flashback systems that I have, the one I've played the most has been the Atari Flashback 8 Gold: Activision Edition. There's just something compelling in the graphics, game play and sentiment that keeps it especially enjoyable after so many years.
Freeway had a prototype with the chicken being splattered if hit. I wonder if Barnstorming had a similar prototype where the bird did not bounce off the propeller?
Would have been nice to have titles attached to each game, so that some of the less-than-obvious ones could be possibly looked into further by viewers.
@@TheLairdsLair Great video! So nostalgic, and to my surprise, some games I never knew.... lol... Just a thing, if you permit me, it was better if someone who actually knows how to play the games , played.... Even with a little test before recording would help on this... And the game's names on screen would help so many people that don't know their names. Thanks....
Activision released some good games including Pitfall, River Raid, Call of Duty, Teen Digital Diva, Malibu Beach Volleyball, iCarly, Wreck-it Ralph, Skylanders, Crash Bandicoot, Barbie owned franchises, Spider-Man and Tony Hawk's Underground
After reaching the required score, did any of you take a photograph of your television screen showing the score and send the picture to Activision headquarters to receive a merit patch?
Activision also released other games for other consoles Teen Digital Diva (PC CD-ROM) Tony Hawk's Underground (PlayStation 2) Call of Duty: Black Ops (PlayStation 3) Barbie as the Island Princess (PlayStation 2) Buzz Lightyear of Star Command* (PlayStation) Toy Story 2* (PlayStation) Battleship (XBOX 360) Barbie Horse Adventures: Riding Camp (Nintendo Wii) Barbie and the Three Musketeers (Nintendo Wii) They should re-release Ghostbusters on current consoles
My mistake. I asked about Atlantis because AtGames included it on their Activision plug and play. However, I now see that it was actually an Imagic game.

Kung Fu Master and Keystone Kapers, Starmaster, Seaquest, and Realsports Boxing.
i love the sunsets that they put in a fair few of the games. like pitfall 2, chopper command, and a few others. Anyway, nice video!
Back in the day, Activision would reward their best players with merit badges. Nowadays, it's pay to win.
Nowadays Activision sucks making garbage like Call Of Duty Mobile that’s filled with gambling loot crates.
So many great memories here!
Thanks for this video! I had several Activision games, but not most. David Crane and Daniel Kitchen and the others did such a great job on these games.
Glad you enjoyed it! Check out the similar one I did for 2600 games by Imagic :-)

My brother and I used to pronounce Grand Prix as “Grand Pricks”. Lol
This is also featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Nice gameplay!
I loved Stampede!

That would certainly be a lot more interesting than the released version!

Good point, I'll add it into the description!

So many classics and they were the only third party publisher that supported the 2600 through it's entire life!
True! Didn't think of that!
21:01 Are you telling me that there’s a movie based off of THIS GAME?!?
Well, the arcade original more accurately, but basically yes.
Before Kotick ruined everything.
Is There Anyone Between The Ages of 20 to 50 Making A TH-cam Channel About The Future of Activision Games?
I really wish this had been accompanied by information about the programmer.
Dragster is probably the most infamous one because that 35 year old lie.

They have a secret skin in cod mobile about this game
I have another question. Which Activision Game came out first?
Fishing Derby, Skiing and Boxing were the first 3 games.
@@TheLairdsLairI reached 31 Points on Freeway without getting hit once!
What is Venetian Blind? Is that a joke?
It was a demo created to stop Activision getting sued by Atari, it's a very interesting story:

Activision purchased Imagic after they went bankrupt, so own the rights to all their games.
The games with no footage are possible canclled
Commentary? Anything of substance
I don't like commentary on gameplay videos, so no. I prefer to let the games speak for themselves uninterrupted.
harry en aprietos
I think ThemTube randomly unsubbed me from this channel
Sorry, but you're kinda bad at some games here.
I'm not playing any of them, so insult away!
@@TheLairdsLair no one's insulting, chill.
