Activision Decathlon was guaranteed to fuck up an Atari joystick controller. Overall, Activision did produce great graphics for their Atari 2600 games.
When I posted the original version of this video quiet a few years back one person actually left this comment about Venetian Blinds saying what a terrible game it was, how Activision ripped people off etc. They genuinely thought it was an actual game and were proper upset about it!
Yes, Salu were a German division of Mediagenic, Activision's parent company at that time. You will also see that Ghostbusters II has Salu and Activision branding as do many late PAL re-releases of Activision games for the 2600.
Activision had some great games in the Atari library. Ghostbusters 2 was a bit of a miss, Boxing is terrible, Double Dragon isn't great, rather lackluster.

The 1500m was a killer. I was pretty good at Decathlon and other 'button bashers' and 'joystick jostlers'.
Just looking at an Atari joystick was guaranteed to f&*k it up. Had to replace the internal bit that snapped on quite a few occasions. ☹
Venetian Blinds was the greatest Activision game for Atari 2600. Yes I know it was tech demo

Gen X Grownup did a ranking video of the entire Activision 2600 lineup, I believe. Guess where the port of Double Dragon ended up.
I am guessing last, because all the "cool" people love to mock it. I've never watched that channel and you've just given me a good reason to avoid it.
@@TheLairdsLair The shade! 😂
Great video and memories !
Love this 👏🏻🙌
This needs to be added to Atari Vault on Steam.
All the websites list "Salu Ltd" as the publisher of Acid Drop, not Activision. Was there some connection between the two companies?
