    One comment on the pouch. Even the best rubber tends rot. So I reckon the bungees that keep the bag closed could be a weak point.
    I used a pouch from Decathlon. It's basically a tiny roll-top dry bag that clips to the bottom of my saddle.
    It's cheap, completely waterproof, and closes with a squeeze buckle that should last for years.
    On the downside, there's a velcro loop that goes around the seat post. But with a bit of old inner tube rubber wrapped around the post for protection, I can live with it.
    BTW: Decathlon also offers good tyre levers - definitely worth getting along with the bag.
    Cheers

    Thanks George, just putting some kit together, I was lucky to find that bag at a great price awhile ago. It makes sense to just be able to pull it off the bike and have it right where you need it. I have forsaken the idea of going tubeless for 25 reasons, lol

    Great vid George I use a Fizik saddle bag which attaches to the rails and carry a tube inside a second can also be attached underneath when I’m on a long ride also carry a multi, Pedros levers, small Swiss knife, park tool patch, chain link 👍🚴🤩🤩🏅

    I carry all what you carry but my leaver is a Topeak Power lever that's also a plier for master link installation and removal and 10 & 11 speed chain connector. A few links of chains and electricity wire tape.😬

    Inside a small saddle bag from aliexpress : nitrile gloves, 28c tube, patch kit, mini ratchet with 15mm socket for front and bike wheels ( 7 speed freewheel) small bike pump, multitool, 2 tire levers. This is on the older 7 speed freewheel bike that has nuts on the wheels. The carbon bike saddle bags I take some of those things and put them inside with a 28c presta tube. Small tiny bag and fits all this stuff amazing,

    I’m using the Silca Mattone seat pack which I like a lot it attaches to the bottom rails of my saddle and I’m using the Silca Tattico mini pump which has been great too. I’m running tubeless so I just bring 4 dynaplugs and a few valve core replacements and a small Park multi tool. So far so good the plugs have worked like a charm and if 4 plugs aren’t enough I will make the call of shame to my wife to pick me up 😆

      @@rickbeckner9906 I am always handing out tubes to stranded riders that’s why I don’t carry TPU tubes. In 7,000 miles this year I’ve only had one flat. So I’m always giving my stuff to other riders.

    • @SeeYouUpTheRoad
      @SeeYouUpTheRoad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahh that would be a nice add. I’ve never broken a chain in all the bagillion miles I’ve ridden but there have been 2 guys that broke a chain on my rides over the years.
      It doesn’t take much space to add one or two. I ride KMC or Shimano chains depending what is more widely available so I can keep the harder chain in stock for my customers.

      @@SeeYouUpTheRoad it’s called a Fumpa. Comes in two sizes: standard and mini. I went with the standard as it offered better performance, battery life and ease of use. The standard pump can fill a tire from 0-120psi 5 times before needing a recharge. The standard pump also has an accurate pressure sensor display that also shows battery life.
      While it will be heavier than the mini or C02, I find it better and more user friendly than the other options. Plus the unit uses a kill switch that really helps preserve battery life.

    • @SeeYouUpTheRoad

      In 20 plus years of consistently riding on average 10,000 miles 16,000 kms and climbing about 1,000,000 ft per year I’ve never broken a chain. I guess I could carry a link but - let’s say about 200,000 miles over the last 20 years and I’ve never broken a chain why would I carry a link. In the last 40 years of riding I’ve never broken a chain.
