at the moment, Kalle has been several years driving in the WRC, and last year he won his first world rally championship, i mean, not only one race but he absolutely was dominating, he won like 8 /11 rally events in whole season and as he was 22 years old, he was the youngest WRC winner EVER!
I knew I read about it somewhere but didn't want to miss quote myself in the video damnnnnnn it
His dad is Harri Rovänperä, Harri "Rovis" Rovanperä is a Finnish rally driver who competed in the World Rally Championship from 1993 to 2006. He drove for SEAT (1997-00), Peugeot (2001-04), Mitsubishi (2005) and Red Bull Škoda Team (2006).
And thank you for the kick arse information! Glad you're enjoying, thank you for watching 💪🏻
@@ExploringTheSmoke You need to chek out group B rally.
I've seen some over the years, mostly in the late 90's/early 00's, I was young myself so only remember a few of the drivers, I've done a short video on my channel about rally rules, slowly getting back into it 💪🏻
two times world rally champion number 1 now. Big up Kalle and Finland
He is indeed the absolute legend!! Thank you Tuomas, glad you enjoyed 💪🏻
Kalle is the best! Rally cars, drifting, snow mobiles,.. Interesting to see what the future holds for him!
He's going to be a mega star in the sport that's a definite!! Thank you for watching Tarja, glad you enjoyed
@@ExploringTheSmoke He just won a WRC rally in Poland having been called in a short notice to replace a team mate..
@@tarjatuhkanen7094 what an incredible performance
I was under 10 when dad gave me and my friend his car to drive around in ice roads. Loved it,they sauna and chill and we rode hours
What an incredible childhood you had! Thank you Mikko! Glad you enjoyed
Also to note in those places at winter, it's actually at Juha Kankkunen Driving Academy, one of other famous Finnish racing drivers, who is old friend of Rovanpera's...
Thank you Guu!! I truly appreciate the knowledge
my father has been working on kalle rovanperä's and his family's house at the moment when kalle's father Harri rovanperä was driving in WRC :)
in fact, kalle started driving in 2-3 years old starting with mopeds and ATVs, then in 5 years old he was first time able to try driving a car, but still didnt quite reach well to the pedals, the toyota starlet has been modified from the pedals side to get him reach on them hehe.. :D
WELCOME BACK BANAANI! That is bloody awesome can I just add! I'm sure your father is making it look amazing! Insane that he started driving at 2-3 😂😂 I love ittttt
4:57
US people: manual cars so hard to drive!
Kalle, 8 years old: *car goes brrrr*
car goes NYAAAAAOOOW 😂😂
We (lucky ones) start practicing driving when you reach pedals well, before that you can drive atv, go karts etc :)
Sounds like a damned good time 💪🏻
2:00 8 year olds should be training on snow because (1) you cannot drive equally fast on snow so it's safer when you crash, and (2) there's typically lots of snow around you so when you crash, you hit snow first which is softer than ground, rocks or trees.
And once you learn how to handle slides on snow, you can do that on gravel, too. Things just happen a lot faster on gravel.
Mikko, honestly you saying it in comment makes it so obvious that I'm annoyed that it didn't connect sooner, I appreciate you being here
his first actual rally was in age of 10 or 12 years if i dont remember wrong, it was held in estonia and he was driving against his father :D it was rallysprint tho, so not very long stage and driving alone. however, in finland, its not able to let 10 years old to drive such rally yet and thats why they went to estonia. after that he started his rally career in age of 14 years and there is few videos of his first rally event with same car, just different colour that time :D then he was driving in international rallies in and next year he was driving in ERC if i dont remember wrong, he was dominating there, and then he moved to WRC2 in age of 16! he was dominating also there, in age of 18 he finally got to the WRC1 (the hardest class) and 2-3 years after he won first WRC win as youngest WRC winner ever :)
Incredible! The fact that he was driving against his father must have been a stellar moment for both father and son
@@ExploringTheSmoke yea!
when parents are:
- not of the helicopter type
- have fields they can use as private race tracks in winter
- have access to a fast network of gravel roads in summer
- giving cars no longer passing road inspections to their kids for pirvate fun
Then you are in finland.
My neighbour routinely turns his pastures into winter racetracks for his family, and i have personally assisted pulling his then 8 yr out of a snow-berm
with all the other minors around waiting for their turn in that old decomissioned mercedes :)
Its all fairly safe, on the first rounds someone who can drive will sit in copilot seat of course ... note i did not say adult :) might just be the 13 yr old sister haha
Haha thank you Zool! Glad you enjoyed 💪🏻 thank you for the comment
I agree. Basically the biggest problem is that those old cars really love gasoline so gasoline bill gets pretty expensive pretty fast. And since you typically cannot run those cars on public road, you need other methods of transportation to fetch the fuel for the training car.
I, too, learned to drive on a Finnish field in an old car.
btw that video is already re-upload because the original upload was removed due to the music rights xD this one has been around ever since tho, i remember there was already like 10 million views before it got deleted lol
Yeah I'm already getting screwed by monetization because of it but we move, if ads stop running they stop running, it isssss what it issss haha
@@ExploringTheSmoke content matterrrrrrsss yeah!
💪🏻💪🏻
The best Metallica music video ever? 😄
Hey! , This Kalle Rovanperä is now TWO times Rally World Champions
He is indeeeeeddddd!! The legend of Rovanperä is only just starting!! Many more for him 💪🏻
Well, Harri his dad is wr camppion and rally in Finland is normal. From dad to kids❤️ i hope that this skill level in finland continues.
Kiitos Samuli, minäkin, se on aivan uskomatonta!
Well, it was actually, who could stop him driving! At the age of 2 he had his first motor bike and after that, basically anything and everything which moves FAST!! At the age of 10 he drove his first official Rally in Latvia, cause for some reason, he was not allowed to race officially in Finland. He was a WRC2 Pro Rally World Champion at the age of 19 (Skoda Fabia R5) and the WRC Rally World Champion at the age of 22. Actually, he was 21 when the WRC Rally New Zealand begun and had his 22nd birthday on Saturday and on Sunday he was the World Champion. And they still had the WRC Rally Japan to drive.
Welcome Pappa! Thank you for the incredible information I appreciate it! Glad you're enjoying 💪🏻
Na Europa educamos os filhos para serem independentes não pra serem relíquias de cristal como na América

I am with you there! + he won drifting in Japan to! I guess he likes adrenalin sports!🤔😅
@@northernviking4309 I think the man just loves being behind a wheel 😂 reminds me of Shane Van Gisbergen

ofc he's a better rally driver than you. his reaction time > better than yours. he had more hours of practice than you when he was 8. you wonder why finnland drivers dominate in rally ? i've been in a car in finland with a finn driving in winter and it should have scared the living daylights out of me ... and it left me with a smile on my face ... no way i would have even dared to drive at his speed in winter ... or in general :D there is a reason why so many rally and F1 drivers come from this small country.
It certainly produces an incredible pedigree of race drivers over the years! Thank you for watching muylae, glad you enjoyed 💪🏻
