Ahahaha yeah it definitely isn’t a job for the faint hearted. It is doable but if you can afford to pay for someone to do it and have the peace of mind then why not
@@turbo_tyler_ yeah rs 2.3 open deck holds no power Meanwhile st mk3 2.0 holds allot more power So mountune uk sell st blocks bored to 2.3 at a hefty price. I think mountune USA sell reinforcement kits for the stock open deck 2.3 Yeah big design oversight lol
Quick question, do the valve/rocker covers have a gasket? I watched another video on this 2.5L engine and when they popped the cover off there was no gasket and I wasnt able to see one on this either because it's not a video but there doesnt seem to be a groove for a gasket to sit in when I seen the cover in other video guides.
So there is no rubber gasket. They use a sealant from factory rather than a gasket. Over time it just gets darker and makes it a bit harder to see but when you pull off the rocker cover they’ll be a brown colored matchiness on the surface you’ll have to carefully scrap off and then use an anerobic gasket sealant to make your own gasket. That’s the red stuff you can see me apply in the photos before I put on
Dude, good to see you utilising STOC
Definitely has been a helpful resource for doing all my own work
Nice tutorial mate, now im sure i can't be bothered doing it myself despite the money it would save xD
