Cracked liners don't just happen. It's down to style of driving and dispersal of excess heat. It is heat that kills the engine. Take care of your cooling system, don't red line it everywhere and stop popping the car in the carpark, there is little to no cooling while the car is stationary. If you are having to replace the head gasket or similar, then by all means go for it, the shims are cheap the labor isn't.
Absolutely superb explanation. Cracked liners don't just happen. It's not a lottery or some random event. Most people who drive these cars have absolutely no idea about car engines and different engine blocks. I have a stage two tuned ST225 with 200 miles on the clock. I have never done a block mod or never will. It will not have a cracked liner because of the way I look after the car.
This guy recently did my block mod on my mk4 Mondeo. couldn't recommend high enough. I've never been to a garage where they let you sit in front of them while they work! cracking guys and totally professional. In case you are wondering it cost me £850 with all genuine parts and my car didn't have a fault, I got the job done as a precaution
Bit of a long shot. But here goes, i don't own a proper ST. i own a 1.5 ecoboost stline of which are known for coolant intrusion.would the ST shims work on this engine? if not do you know anywhere(companies) that would, I've tried looking on internet, all I can find is shims for the ST. Tia 👍

Cost of a block mod??
Please contact Mark @Automodz, we didn't include a price as over time prices can change due to cost of parts 👍
