Hi I managed to just put on axle stand and get to bolt with turning the wheel at same time haha !! but thanks useful info . wish I was just doing that !!!.

No the axle nut does not have a cotter pin.

hey so I got one off of a 94 mines a 93 and the end of the CV joint looks completely different ... I just assumed they were the same.
They should be the same.

I have a MK6 and I'm pretty sure it's the same. I need to get the axle out of the way to swap a faulty emissions component on mine.
Driver side you have to lift engine with automatic
