I just replaced my equalizers (SEP23) and now found your video. Luckily I did not have to replace my hanger, I don't carry as much weight as your car trailer. I did not weld my bolts either. However I do not recommend hammering in the large center bolt due to possibly deforming the threads on the opposite side.

Weld the bolts?? What happens when you need to change the leaf springs, or the bushing?

did you not see him use a grinder and cutoff wheel to completely remove a fully welded hanger? He will use the same grinder to cut the welds and replace the stuff the same way the next time.

Great Job. The only thing I do not like is when you cut the chassis/frame to mark it. that hurts my feelings.

What make and model disc brakes are you using, how many miles experience do you have with them, are you happy with them?
If I were you, next time the leafspring bushings need to be replace, buy the rubber one with the steel sleeve in the middle(and get the next size up bolt),they last a lot longer.I used to replace those equalisers at least twice a year, but since Ive modified everything to ride on rubber bushings now I just replace the bushings once a year.If you are interested let me know,I will make a video.

I'm looking for those bushings. Where did you get them from?

Marking with grinder could cause another issue later. Start of a crack

I see that there was NO grease in/on the old components.
