    My wife is doing clinicals right now, working and school full-time. Using her drug book, and I am trying to help her study
    I just found your page/channel. Immediately signed up for the cheat sheet for her and even joined the club for her. She was thoroughly impressed and enjoyed your videos.
    I don't know how you all do it. But thank you so much!
    -George.

    Thank you for the best advice, depending on what your nurse specialty (Psychiatric; L&D; Peds; MedSurg; ER; Trauma, Oncology) medication are repetitive in use, but at the same time nurses need to be flexible and learn to adapt to the patient needs.

    Thank goodness I have the Davis drug guide app. It is so easy for me to get confused, I’d literally forgot the drug I was looking for when flipping through the book

      Natalie Marie does the app work for you. I’m on the fence between the book and the app

      Africa Washington yes! It’s so easy to use. You just type in the medication and all the information on the med comes up. And like I stated earlier I get confused easily so having everything on only that med is so helpful and it’ll help you utilize the advice this video gives because it also has a section for drug classes. You’ll be able to put everything together without the additional hassle of the book

    • @nataliemarie4640

    Is it better to log in all the heart medication together?

    • @NursingSOS
      @NursingSOS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question, Cynthia Adams! Learning them by class will help decrease the total amount of individual medications you need to learn.

    Do they not have one for mbbs?? Or is it the same for everyone??
    I searched but everywhere it is for nursing...
    Also it is the same book which is the best one??

    • @NursingSOS
      @NursingSOS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure about that - ROMAISA! The older editions are all helpful, but if you can get the newer one that will be the best one and it can be something you refer to for years even as a nurse! You've got this!

    • @NursingSOS

  • @nursechriswright528

    In the 17th edition the pharmocological class of albuterol is adrenergics. However that is not a classification listed in the front ?!?!

    • @NursingSOS
      @NursingSOS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The classification for albuterol is a an adrenergic bronchodilator. Not all the classifications are listed in the beginning, but it is a great place to get started, Christopher Wright! :)

    So if Antitussives were a class that side effects of the Antitussive drugs would all be the same?

    • @NursingSOS
      @NursingSOS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, medications in the same pharmacologic class have similar mechanisms of action, so they will have similar side effects. This is not true for therapeutic classes though. For example all beta blockers (pharmacologic class) have the side effect of decreased heart rate, but not all antihypertensives (therapeutic class) cause decreased heart rate. Hope that helps to clarify it for you, Yasmin Reid! :)
