Sandakphu is a mountain peak situated on the border between India and Nepal. The Sandakphu and Phalut trek offers views of 8,000-meter peaks.

We wouldn't recommend any soaps with chemicals in it. It pollutes the water and the soil. But you can carry chemical-free soaps. :)

Snow is a very very rare experience on this trek. But if at all there are chances, that would be in January and February.

There is no snow in March but As spring arrives in March, the whole trail is speckled with various types of flowers. Red, pink Rhododendrons and white Magnolias dominate the landscape. By mid-April, the rains become more frequent. You might still be able to trek. But it’s not as much fun. Check more here : indiahikes.com/sandakphu-phalut#best-time

You guys are doing wrong....you guys start from wrong base point!!...
Start your trek from manebhanjan..
I was there in this trek with a local guide and we were almost 6 people trekking...our local guide Raju chetri (one of the most popular guide over there) said that you guys are doing wrong...i also met trekkers from your group..the group which includes those couple of age 67 and 73...you guys were doing from wrong direction!!!...like it's not completely wrong but all the view will be on your back so you can't enjoy those views..plus if you're looking for challenging sandakphu-phalut trek start from Manebhanjan i suggest..but it's up to you guys..I did trek with you guys..like 2-3 treks
Just because most of trekkers start from Manebhajan doesn't mean other routes are wrong. I have trekked both via both the routes and I would suggest everyone to take the route via sepi. And why do you think that having elderly people in trek is wrong?

Maneybhanjan is the usual trekking route that everyone takes. But there is alternate route also. You can explore them as you like.
