I have absolutely no idea how long this will take me to learn but I can’t wait to try! I actually really appreciate this tutorial because they are a lot harder to come across for the uke
i'm excited for you as well! this one is a bit of a doozy, but a good entrance-level song to learning fingerstyle and incorporating riffs into your performance repetoire. as you may or may not know, i am planning on covering every single hozier song on the 'ukulele. so, if you'd like a tutorial for any of them, let me know!
thanks much! as mentioned in the description, the key hozier plays in is C. you'd need to put a capo on 5 or transpose the chords up 5 half steps. I would tune the strings up to D6 tuning and put a capo on 3.
the first thing to do is to acquire a tuner. there are a bunch of tuning apps and websites that are free, or you can buy a physical tuner. then you tune the strings as follows: G to F, C to A#, E to D, and A to G. you are tuning the strings DOWN, aka making the pitch lower. you can match your pitches to mine at 00:20 if you don't have a tuner.
I’m so struggling with 6:00, the last part of riff 2. Don’t know where and how many times. Huhuhu i tried to slow down the video speed but still 😭 help please!
you are playing a G chord, but alternating between all strings (with your thumb/pointer/middle/ring fingers) and only the top string (with your thumb). the 0 on the tabs is the "bass line" of the chord (true if you have a low G string). not sure how to explain it any other way... it's written on the tab, so play as written exactly.
Ohmy god! You are too good!! Thank you for this tutorial.
This is definitely going to take some practice but I'm so excited to learn this!! Thanks for the breakdown!
it was my pleasure! good luck!! it's a little tricky at first, but in time you'll be playing it smooth as silk.

@@tunesquicklee alright thanks a lot!!
How do i get the tuning to exactly what you used? I find it a hard time doing it on my own.
