Man you nailed the guitar part on this! Most covers have solid vocals, but they're just using chord tabs. Mad respect for getting the actual guitar part down ON TOP OF having great pitch/intonation.

@@dorianablucerchiata4785 the guitar is lower in pitch, Hozier uses the capo at fret 6, but her voice is higher which creates some really wonderful harmonies between it and the guitar.

For the record, this song is about domestic violence and abuse. It paints a bittersweet picture of the struggle of staying with a toxic partner.
i can’t even begin to describe how envious i am of her. the way that it seems as though she put absolutely no effort into this, yet so much at the same time is beautiful. she looks so natural with the guitar, like she was born with it. there’s so much emotion that she conveys through her voice and i was mesmerized the entirety of the video. i had to watch it twice to really hear the lyrics, even though i listen to hozier’s album on an almost daily basis. i am just in love. that’s all. :)

I've never understood how some people (especially young) can just pick up a guitar playing a song like this while singing. I can play this song but as soon as i start to think of the lyrics I fuck up and cant stay on time aha.
It just takes time and practice. I learned how to play so that i could accompany myself singing, so from the get go, i was spending 20 minutes trying to play and sing a 4 minute song. But trust me, you can do it :)

I sing terribly but I think music is about loving what you do, singing without fear of being judged. Of course you should judge yourself in order to improve but keep the work going!

@@thomas8019 Thomas is right plus singing is something you can improve. I'm not an amazing vocalist but my voice now is much better than before. I have more control over it.
Sehen Gamhewa every “professional” people you seen or met were never good in the first place. They will always practice and improve even if they’re good at it! If singing is something you wanna do then go on and practice. It will take years, no one is naturally good overnight.
