I’m honestly sad to not see Isotta on the grid next year. Their biggest achievement this year was finishing the 24 Hours of Le Mans
@@johnvandeventer8668 me too
The wording that Lamborghini have used (Paused) gives me hope they will come back to WEC in the future.
I hope they do return as well! My suspicion is that they aren’t done with the WEC yet. 😉
But the WEC could be done with them by the time they want to come back…
they do have the Temerario GT3 coming in 2026, so let's hope they return with that
Hopefully it's better than their GT program. So glad lynx and dames dropped them asap.
@@mcgoo721 Im so glad lambo drop that woke ass team.
glad to see aston martin in hypercar and mercedes in lmgt3!
As usual, thanks for the video. So, the Isotta remains in the garage, not surprising, it did the 24H du Mans last year, now it can join the show-room of the brand to sell their hypercars, I think their objectives were not beyond that.
But more seriously, this sadly leaves at least 1 Lamborghini, 1 or 2 Vanwalls, and the 2 ex-Jota Porsches in the garage.
I thought I'd see a second Porsche Proton, and a Porsche Rodin.
It's good to see Mercedes-Benz AMG back in GT3!
And if I've understood correctly, in LMH/LMdH, we should probably (the announced projects seem serious) see the arrival in the next few years of Genesis/Hyundai LmdH with an Oreca chassis, Mercedes-Benz AMG, and McLaren.
Always so nice to see a fan so fluent and up to speed with the IMSA and WEC seasons.
Keep up the updates, Jonah!
Shame no Vanwall and empty spaces
I'm sad to see Lamborghini leaving both classes in wec but at least I'm happy that there's two Cadillacs now in hypercar😢😊
How about their lmgt3 program?
@@tyoyusuf8501 both classes me lmgt3 aswell
@@tyoyusuf8501 Mercedes are a great addition in their absence.
@@vitreo1363 no not a Mercedes but their lmgt3 Cadillac general Motorsport program chevrolet corvette
IRON LYNX MERCEDES!!
AND IRON DAMES MANTHEY COLLAB!
So hyped for this season
Looking forward to that Bourdais - Lynn - Bamber entry 👍🔥🏆
As usual you explained the WEC silly season very well. Looking forward to the Aston Martin in Hypercar.
Thank you, I appreciate your support! I’m also looking forward to the Aston Martin Hypercar!
It's sad to see Schwartzmann leave but will be cool to see him in Indycar
Good no Israeli
Thank You.
You're welcome
It's sad to see that Lamborghini & Isotta left. When it comes to no. 46, will Valentino Rossi gonna drive the hypercar & when it comes to Lamborghini, what happened to the drivers? If they're staying in WEC, which cars are they gonna drive? When Sarah Bovy got promoted, will she gonna drive the hypercar as Iron Dames team?
im so hyped for 2025. rooting for astons hypercar and gt3, cant wait to see the hypercar on track. its unfortunate that we dont have a 'small' brand or underdog in hypercar or gt3 like isota, vanwall, etc.
Lamborghini comeback in lmgt3 would be interesting because they're making new Temerario gt3 debuting 2026.
Well done on the video Jonah, your content kicks ass, I'm glad there's someone covering endurance racing the way it deserves to be!
Thank you so much, I am very happy to hear this. I really appreciate your support, and thanks for watching!!
I was hoping that there would be 40 cars, but hopefully, next year or some time in the future. :)
Think there's a few tracks on the calendar that don't have 40 put stops which is why they run the current number
36 entries is still a decent amount, all things considered. If Hyundai can get their Hypercars ready, we might see them toward the end of the year(?)
@vitreo1363 absolutely :)

The Cadillacs will look good on the grid with the gold Hertz Team Jota livery
That Aston looking elegant
Most exciting? No doubt, the new Aston Martin LMH Hypercar. Finally coming to the WEC. Too bad Lamborghini is gone. But not a surprise looking at the financial problems the parent company Volkswagen and therefore also Audi as the owner of Lambo have.
Rooting for Aston Martin in Hypercar and Manthey 1st Phorm in LMGT3
With Lamborghini pulling out of the WEC entirely do you think that the SC 63 will go full time in IMSA 🤔
FINALLY - less Porsche LMDH cars!!!!
I saw a post of Manthey Racing where Iron Dames is a stand alone name while 1st Phorm have Manthey in their name, so calling them Manthey Iron Dames might not correct but it's a fact that they are using a Manthey Porsche
I might be wrong 🩷
You’re correct, It is technically just Iron Dames but they have partnered with Manthey, hence the Manthey name being incorporated. But it will be referred to as The Iron Dames Porsche
Could be more updates later on as 4 empty slots remain.
Is there still a possibility to see vanwall or isotta on the grid?
It would seem not. Although it does say "Provisional Entry List".
@@Dmooreslotreviews Because you can still define which driver appears in which car, but the number of entries on car level is finalized.
Lambo and Isotta are happy to stay, but not enough money for private teams to have 2 hypercars. Shame, but at least we have Cadi and Aston.
Wonder if Doriane Pin or Sarah Bovy will slot into one of those Iron Lynx Mercedes..
Pin in the Mercedes GT3 would be a killer
Aston Martin LMH 🔥
aren't there some open grid slots then?
Lambo should stay in LMGT3. 38 cars would be so better, and WEC already expanded the grid size to 40 cars
Nice video but Vanwall it’s still waiting to be approved by the FIA next year.
Fingers crossed! I hope they make a return one day!
@@FormulaJonah Yup! Performance aside, I love the look on their cars.
I think the hypercar class should just focus on manufacturer teams and not customer entry teams as it's clearly fighting for space now
Hopefully the Aston Martins have a better debut than back when they tried to run the AMR-1s
Whelp, looks like I called it months ago, Lambo would pick the cheaper IMSA over the WEC. ACO really needs to stop shooting themselves in the foot every time they get success.
IMSA's not perfect with their manufacturer limits/fees and some of the on track calls, but damn at least Doonan is of the "We'll try to make it work and try to grow" mentallity. Not whatever this elitest "we're too good for you" B.S. the ACO and the FIA keep doing.
Never let the french run anything.
We'll see; Lamborghini described their absence as a pause, not an exit, so there's reason for hope that they'll return.
Also, originally there were 20 spaces for Hypercars, no? 2nd Proton and Isotta being the suspects. What happened to that? There will be no full grid?
Peugeot confirmed that Muller will go out and Malthe Jakobsen will step up to take his space already. So no other changes from their side.
It is not shown on the official WEC entry list, but it's pretty sure from Peugeot's side, no?
I hope Lexus RC F GT3 can be more competitive next season. It's competitive in IMSA, so it's confusing to see it struggling in WEC
I wonder how long Caddy (and Vette) gonna stay given they will be in F1
I hope to see lamborghini and isotta at Le Mans
Not possible if Lamborghini drives only in IMSA like Acura
They would have to race in WEC to do Le Mans.
@@CobraFerrariFth Are they not inviting IMSA cars anymore?
@@vitreo1363 Yes the Red ans Yellow Cadillac
@@Maenfy IMSA cars only get invited if they either win Rolex24 or win the IMSA championship, they can also get an invitation from the ACO itself
Not gonna lie I am excited for THOR AMR
What would be sick is to see Alonso jump into the AMR Hypercar😂😂
They should move to pro hypercar and privateer hypercar class. With pro need double cars and privateer needs just one
Think it could cause a lot of manufacturers to move to privateer? If you leave it as an option, you might as well not require it.
@vitreo1363 no big manufacturer should be allowed ether. Only brands like isotta, vanwall, glickenhaus.... True privateers
@@justkris6461 Wasn't the point of this idea to prevent situations like with Lambo?
@vitreo1363 dunno why that rule is there. Wasn't it also only GT3 manufacturer that had intentions to run hypercar that was allowed in? Rather see privateers then lmp2 to fill the grid
@@justkris6461 No; I thought so as well, but it's not a requirement… _they just give priority to manufacturers participating in the top class._ So someone like Mercedes can be in LMGT3 without a Hypercar, but if another manufacturer like Hyundai came with a Hypercar and a GT3, they'd get priority and Mercedes could be left out.
I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the lineup of drivers. The 33 Corvette makes me wonder if Ben Keating is going back to TF Sport and WEC. Can’t wait for the WEC to start.
I thought Keating didn't like GT3s… tho I'd love to see him come back in some form.
@ he drove GT3 in IMSA.
@@Kaufman55 When? Last I checked, when the decision was made to move to GT3 in both WEC and IMSA, he specifically went with Corvette as the last GTLM machinery; said he wouldn't drive GT3 because he hated ABS, and after that he moved to LMP2 with a team I forgot.
@@vitreo1363 He was with United Autosport
@@vitreo1363 but he drove a AMG Mercedes GT3 in IMSA GTD before going to WEC. TF sport put a X post of the pro drive saying he can’t wait to say his other drivers. Plus Ben had that LMP2 invite for La Mans he needed to use. The WEC was also getting ready to make him a silver rated drive after the GTE AM was done. He doesn’t want to be a silver rated driver.
Nyck DeBris
no 46 bimmer, is that mean rossi abandoned his effort in WEC? or straight up promoted to hypercar with his silver license status?
VR had make a statement that in 2025 he's gonna race either WEC or GTWCEu... but with no #46 in the WEC grid, looks like he's going to race in GTWCEu only...
No Rossi 46?
I wonder who else is driving the number 33 corvette. Cough Ben Keating.
The legend returns!
/wishful
So we wont have the 91 Porsche the team who won in gt3 in next season
No. Their bronze driver Alex Malykhin got promoted to Silver and now they are racing in LMP2.
so... Cadillac factory pulled out?
Nope jota is cadi's factory team from next year
Wait, there is no LMP2 prototypes anymore? did i miss something?
LMP2 have been removed to make way for hypercars for this year.
LMP2 has been removed since the start of this year in WEC as they can only have a maximum of 40 cars on the WEC grid, they are still at Le Mans with atleast 15 guaranteed grid spots reserved for them.
An entire season.
Rossi not racing in WEC 2025?? 😢
Sadly 😥 Lamborghini out, I'm out... I'll come back if they do.
Please do another video when all drivers have been confirmed.
Damn, no lambo on WEC? WEIRD...
But hey, they were abysmal last year, on both classes, I guess they're too embarrassed, anyway, Manthey + Dames? man, I hope Manthey experience nullifies those girls bad luck, they had pace and car, but not a single drop of luck, and btw, I'm ok with SB parting, she did some terrible things last year, specially at SPA, she destroyed not only her race, but 2 others.
she was by far the fastest of the bunch though while being a Bronze driver
@@Law0fRevenge She was good at quali, I'll give you that, for sure, but at endurance, she was average overall, she was fast, but had too many little mistakes, and was too hash, had a bad decision making mind for endurance, and that, more often than not, ruined their races, I can remember at least 3 of them this year that she did it, unless she fix that, she doesn't deserve a seat at a team as big as Manthey.
You forgot Malthe Jakobsen
Oh yes! Thanks for the reminder. I went off the WEC entry list!
FIA Hypercar World Cup: am I joke to you?
Well, there's 2 entries, they will at least win a vice-championship :)
As a F1 fans, we need to get Lance Stroll in the Aston Martin Valkyrie next year😅
LOL!
… No.
@@vitreo1363 haha I can only hope
...
🥲
Lamborghini 😕🤧😢😢
I think you forgot Sebastian vettel because he joins Porsche
I hope Vettel joins for Le Mans! But he hasn’t been confirmed just yet 😉
Hope lotterer goes to proton
No second Proton is disappointing. Otherwise, no surprises.
Lamborghini is very surprising and sad to be honest.
Is there something wrong with the Hypercar class? Since it's inception, we have seen FOUR manufacturers ( Lamborghini, Isotta Fraschini, Glickenhaus and Vanwall ) all pull out in the span on only about 2 years. Is the class broken ? Or are the manufacturers full of shit
It's a tale as old as time...
Money.
Big V6/V8/V12 hybrid engines made for racing with sophisticated chassis and aerodynamics aren't exactly cheap.
And while the operating cost is 3x smaller than something like F1, the profit for participating is not even close to being comparable.
Not really as Issotta is an extremely wealthy manufacturer and besides these LMH/LMDH cars are much cheaper to produce and run than the previous LMP1 cars
You forgot the thing that units all four of those manufacturers. The were all back markers.
Glickenhouse and vanwall kinda make sense, since they didn't really make a lot of points, but Lamborghini does make me scratching my head, because they leave both the GT3 and the Hypercar category, which is.... Weird.
I wouldnt say it is bad. 3 of 4 are small car companies (if you even include Vanwall as a car company), 2 couldnt even complete a full schedule. And you have Vanwall who was barely faster than LMP2s and is run by Bykolles a team that has only finished just over 50% of WEC races they have actually participated in.
Lamborghini is the only shock but is kind of understandable when you look at the fact they wrote off a car in testing before last year which had knock on effects which caused them to lose out massively on testing time and money rebuilding the car.
It makes sense for Lambo to pull out for a year in WEC, especially with the 2 car rule, and spend a year developing the car while also running a full year in IMSA to get race time aswell.
So it actually is 1 manufacturer that has fully pulled out, 2 manufacturers hoping to rejoin and 1 manufacturer taking a year break to help develop the car more.
The Second car rule destroy‘s everything.
Hi
Racing is not Lambo's DNA. Lambo's DNA is only to become Ferrari's rival in road car. Not in racing. Lambo's racing cars are bullsh*t.
