I proudly supported Cadillac last year... and I don't intend to change that this year! Can't wait to hear it shake the ground with the Aston Martin Valkyries!
If it werent for IMSA, I would have championed Alpine full time. But in IMSA, Cadillac gets my full fanboyism and always will.
Fully agree with you. As an American, I have to keep supporting Cadillac as well.
Those Cadillac’s and Aston Martin’s will be great to hear, especially in person!
And still lose ??… ground shaking loser!!!..🥺🥺🥺 the car burns more gas than any team and is never on pace after 3 hrs stents….
@@cchoice4919 um, 2023 IMSA season winner? Four podiums last year, including winning the Petit Le Mans? Also, if you're talking about gas burning, you may as well watch Formula E lol
why 'proud'?! that's so weird.
Daytona this month and wec next month. Getting myself ready
Lots to look forward too 👊
You also had Bathurst 12h last week and you have Asian Le Mans Series until WEC Qatar
I hope that Cadillac will be much, very much more luckier than last year.
Now that JOTA is running the car, I have much higher hopes for the Caddy this year.
Well they definitely weren't lucky at Daytona lol
I just got into F1 last year and have been peeking at WEC shorts while i watch F1 videos on here…..man, these hyper cars just pull me in man. Love them, makes you feel like a kid watching them 😂 thanks for this video, ill be up to date for this years season!
Glad you’re getting into both F1 and WEC, they are both great series. Happy to hear that you liked this video!
Bruh same this shit interesting 😂😂
@ there is so much history and feuds and drama and technical evolutions! And more! Love it
The F-1 is the pinnacle of boredom and entitled pilots
I missed both Isotta and Lambo in WEC but also the no. 46 because of Valentino Rossi but, the Lambo will only race in IMSA but many fans want Honda to bring the rebranded Acura hypercar into WEC. However, the Valkyrie has the best engine sound because of the V12 engine. Proud to see Kevin Magnussen as another ex-F1 driver to race in both IMSA and WEC and seeing Jenson Button in Cadillac.
Happy New Year Jonah!
I miss Lamborghini and Isotta Fraschini as well, hopefully they’ll be back! I want to see Honda/Acura in the WEC as well, but I don’t think it will happen soon. I also agree that it’s great to see more Formula 1 drivers on the WEC grid as you mentioned with Kevin and Jenson. Happy New Year to you too, and thanks for watching!
Wec killed them with that stupid rule of 2 cars per manufacture
@duckgaming5 The 2 car mandate policy was imposed by FIA. The VW motorsport crisis and Isotta's financial crisis have caused them to withdraw from WEC. Porsche is the only VW family that have the least issues and can afford to run full season.
@frankj0484 yeah sorry, I meant FIA for wec. However, despite the Volkswagen crisis, I think that Lamborghini would have probably continued racing in wec with one car if it wasn't for that rule, because in IMSA they do so
We need Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar, McLaren, Nissan, Mazda, Maserati, Ford, and Dodge to join now
(I know there's no chance of some of these marques joining but I can dream...)
Das marcas que você mencionou, acredito que apenas Mercedes e McLaren teriam alguma chance de entrar na categoria...
Dodge is a corporate sibling of Peugeot, as both are Stellantis brands, while Alpine is owned by the Renault-Nissan partnership.
@@Dungos1000Dodge is also slightly likely but just a rebadged Peugeot if they want to come to IMSA as Peugeot don't sell any cars in North America so can't actually race IMSA
Peugeot can run as Dodge in US
considering Jaguar's new rebrand, i doubt they would even think about racing
As for Mazda, if they can produce a normal engine then probably
McLaren and Mercedes are probably focusing on their f1 teams right now
Not gonna lie, I kinda saw that coming from Lambo when they announced they were joining WEC. Lambo have an absolutely cursed motor-racing heritage largely spawned during the Chrysler era in the 80s and into the 90s. There's just certain brands that don't really do motorsport and the likes of Lambo and Pagani are among them (as much as the teenagers might cry for them!)
For me, I'm a Porsche fan.
I have a great feeling about BMW and Alpine this year, they're lineup looks strong and I can see a possible fight for a win for both of them
Do yo mean BMW could win the 24h of Daytona and Le Mans?🔥🔥
Agreed!
Thank you for making this video. Looking forward to all the upcoming races. Thank for covering many races. Keep up the good work.
I am glad you enjoyed the video! I am excited for the upcoming races too!
As always, great video Jonah! 🤙
It is a shame that the Isotta is not competing at all anymore, considering it was kind of cool to see them run. Really excited for both IMSA & WEC in 2025 as the grids for both championships look absolutely stacked with talent! As always I’ll be supporting my 963’s, 911’s, & Z.06’s.
Here’s to a great 2025! 🍾🥳
Riley Motorsports was confirmed to be the operator of the Lambo SC63 program last week
They are definitely expected to run the cars in IMSA. Would love to see it happen, waiting for an official confirmation! Marshall Pruitt from Racer always is reliable , so I trust that what he says will likely happen. Looking forward to this potential collaboration between the organizations
I really hope Cadillac can get some wins.
Cheers to my 2nd year of watching the wec and imsa
Happy new year Jonah hope you and all the viewers had a great holiday. You’re starting the year great videos already. Can’t wait to see all the new liveries for 2025 on all the cars.
Thank you for the support, I really appreciate it. I’m also really excited to see the new liveries, it’s something I very much look forward too.
You helped me get into hypercars in 2024, so thanks Jonah!
That’s awesome! So happy to hear this. My pleasure, and I am happy I could help 👊
The only thing that frustrates me with this “Convergence” is that as of 2025 you only have 4 brands out of 10 factory manufacturers running both endurance series
I get it to an extent, America doesn’t sell many Peugeots, Alpines, or Ferrari, while Europe doesn’t sell Acura they do Honda. At least we should get all manufacturers besides Acura at Le Mans
Cadillac
Porsche
BMW
Aston Martin
IMSA only:
Acura
Lamborghini
WEC only:
Toyota
Ferrari
Alpine
Peugeot
Alpine have plans to sale car in US so there's might be potential for them to come to IMSA
I've seen some Acuras in Europe.. Just not many.
The absurd IMSA rule mandating an OEM to sell at least 2500 cars per year should be removed; it prevents small boutiques like Issota and Glikenhaus from joining the IMSA grid.
This is US, they only care about major manufacturer, not privateer and enthusiast
Enthusiasts do!! Unfortunately we're not the one calling the shots 🤣
Agreed, would be cool to see IMSA pick up some of those WEC regulations, but Americans sadly prefer the big names, especially if its American brands like Cadillac… which is sad because Glickenhaus is also an American brand.
Go Caddie , Corvette ❤👍
Happy New Year Ferarri #1
Thanks for this. Going to attempt to get into IMSA this year :). 2024 was my first season following WEC, and I loved it. Will be still following team Jota even though Ilot not there anymore
Awesome! I hope you have a great time watching IMSA this year! Glad you liked this video
Thank you so much for making this video, this is amazing for any beginners or anyone starting in WEC or IMAS, would love to see a video about the GTD PRO and GTD class as well please
Means a lot to hear this, thank you! This helps me to make more content. I hope I can do one on GT cars as well, but with so much content to cover I can’t promise anything. Fingers crossed though 🤞
@ ya that's the thing with the GT there is so many, but man keep going I love you channel, you are truly amazing
Will absolutely be supporting aston next year. always wanted them to put in a hypercar effort, and for it to have an NA V12? cant get better than this! great vid mate.
Le WEC, un merveîlleux championnat❤🎉🎉
A team as good as JOTA running the Caddy in WEC really gives that car a chance.
Feeling that Lamborghini might just leave Prototype Racing Altogether at this point. Iron Lynx already cut them off and now no one in IMSA wants to run the SC63s
Riley announced they are running it
Happy 2025 Jonah
Happy New Year to you too!
Happy New Year and thank you for this.
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoy the content, Happy New Year to you too!
Thanks FJ, the WEC doesn’t seem to work for the boutique manufacturer models but I hope that is made up by the sound of the V12 Valkyrie!
3 WEEKS UNTIL ROLEX 24 HOURS DAYTONA 🔥🔥🔥
Hey, Jonah, first of all, congratulations on the channel, I started following about a year ago and I can tell that you have improved a lot since then, good job and thank you.
I have always been a bit of a Toyota fan-boy, but only recently started following endurance racing and I have some questions that I would like to know your opinion on: Why doesn't Toyota compete in IMSA and why don't they have customer teams?
BMW's lineups look good this year, hopefully they can fight for some wins! Also excited to see more Cadillac in WEC, hopefully they are more competitive this year
I'll continue to root for Toyota. They've been putting in an insane amount of work into manufacturer's cups over tons of racing series for the past half decade. They finally deserve that crown jewel win at Le Mans. Another year where they win both the WEC and the WRC is going to continue to mark this crazy era of Toyota racing success.
Happy New Years Jonah! I hope its a great year for all. Great refresher, thank you. But now, I really want to know your predictions for WEC & IMSA manufacturer and team champions for 2025. And, while I Iove all the cars and teams, I especially cheer on Toyota Gazoo Racing!
Thank you for the support, I appreciate it and glad you liked the video. I’ll have a predictions video/live stream coming soon for both WEC and IMSA, but I definitely expect the top 3 from last season in WEC to be strong again, with BMW and maybe Cadillac joining the mix. IMSA is hard to call at this point!
Happy New Year to you too!
Man I wish IMSA/WEC did a race where just the GTPs/Hypercars raced
Closest we get is the few IMSA entries coming over for Le Mans but even then doesn't involve Acura plus a couple of the privateers.
Thank you ! Happy new racing year , I'm still super confused.
Thanks for watching, happy New Year to you too. Hopefully some further videos here can help! I have many more explanations/breakdowns coming soon!
More caddy’s the better. Let’s go GM
Go Cadillac!!
Thank you bro
You're welcome! Glad you liked the video.
Ok, now it's time for #83 to win at Le Mans this year. Everybody at Scuderia will have their fair share. 😂
aston ditched the hybrid from the og version
Got to Stick with BMW this year, their driver line ups are impressive. Also going to keep an eye on Proton Porshce and Lambo.
I’m not even an Aston Martin fan but I absolutely love the Valkrye !! I hope it wins!
I'm a Porsche fan so I am hoping they can repeat their success for the new season in both Champions. Little sad Proton didn't expand their lineup/will only be part time in IMSA. I am looking forward to see if there is any new liveries for any of the teams this year. I think a cool livery is a quick way to gain support for a team.
Porsche and Aston Martin, baby! Let's gooooo
Alpine in WEC, Cadillac in IMSA.
As god intended.
Happy new year from France !
Happy new year to you too!
Rip the yellow caddy.
Cant wait to see what K-Mag does at BMW this year. 🔥
Ferrari and Jota for WEC
#10 for IMSA (LETS GOOO FELIPEEE, 3RD TIME IS THE CHARM)
very excited to see the Astons too :)
my soul needs acura and vanwall in WEC 🙏
Acura aren't competiting in WEC anytime soon unless they can convince the bosses in Japan to rebadge the cars as a Honda
This upcoming season is going to be my first season of WEC and IMSA. I hope Aston Martin gets some wins or at least a podium this season because their car is the only non hybrid card which is cool
Happy New Year!!!
Happy New Year to you too!
6.5l V12 🤤😍
Hope for a Ferrari Year in F1 and WEC 🇮🇹🏎
Forza Ferrari! 🏎️🇮🇹🏁👏
Riley is going to run the SC63 in IMSA.
They are expected to run the cars in IMSA. Would love to see it happen, waiting for an official confirmation! Marshall Pruitt from Racer always is reliable , so I trust that what he says will likely happen. Looking forward to this potential collaboration between the organizations of Lamborghini and Riley
It would be really cool to see Toyota enter GTP one day in IMSA
I must admit that I don't follow WEC or IMSA, but I would be keeping a close eye on Aston for no other reason than the nature of their entance into the series.
Aston's previous modern ventures into the top class of Le Mans racing have been, lets just say lackluster, so when the new hypercar class was announced everyone was a bit apprehensive about Aston saying they would enter the Valkyrie. And they would be right, Aston pulled out.
But then the first year of the hypercar class actually happened, and what do you know all of a sudden Aston are joining the grid once again, with a car that they have been developing for years. I think they know exactly what performance they will be getting from their car and are no longer worried that it might embarrass them on the racing stage, and possibly even be up there for the wins. I'm not usually a betting man but I have put £5 on them taking home some glory this year.
thanks man
I hope Aston does well as I believe it's their first time in prototype ever. I want the only V12 on the grid to win!
Not their first, but they've been gone a while.
I hope to see Alpine fighting for wins in this season
Shame that Honda/Acura won't run a WEC entry, will support them in IMSA tho
WEC AND Imsa will become more and more popular..
the valkyrie is badged as the Valkyrie AMR-LMH not Valkyrie LMH.
I'll stay with Toyota, Peugeot and Alpine. 🤞
Good choices!
Great to see Wayne Taylor back at HOME with "CADILLAC" as he was there #1 prototype team back in the IMSA days, the MK-II Caddy not only looked cool but was starting to win until the death of the program ! 🚽🚽🚽🚽💩🔥
I went to Daytona this year and was disappointed to see the Lamborghini drop out so early
5:02 The Aston Martin will certainly produce a great sound but not very loud as all the cars are limited to a 110 dB sound level at 15 metres and maybe less this year.
Audi I can hear you coming!!!
Happy New Year !! Is there any chance for Lambo to race at Lemans ? And how many Cadis will be at Lemans ? I wish Aston to bring all 3 cars as well.
Happy New Year to you too. Unfortunately I don’t see Lamborghini racing at Le Mans this year, Cadillac will likely bring 3 cars to Le Mans with an additional car from AXR. It’s also not out of the real possibility for WTR to race at Le Mans, but it’s not likely for this year
Lambo can't do a one of lemans entry due to a wec rule stating only full time wec entries required to run at lemans for the bop(imsa invites for the gtp champs in porsche's case adds to there 2 full season ppm entries same as cadi's 3rd car should they decide is added to jota's 2 factory entries)
There’s got to be a way for Acura to compete at 24 hours of Le Mans. Either Acura /Honda has to fully back an entry or ACO has to change their rules. Come on guys! Give the fans what they want!
The ACO aren't changing their rules because the rules are in place because of BoP. Acura/Honda needs to be in WEC so the ACO/FIA have the data to give them the right BoP otherwise they could be way too fast or not competitive.
Im going with Porsche and Aston in Imsa and WEC Aston
Rooting for Penske
How do you guys watch these races? May seem like a simple/dumb question (and maybe it is) but I wanted to get into this last year but had a hard time keeping up with when the races were happening & where to watch.
one thing that I don't understand is that even tho the Valkyrie LMH doesn't have a hybrid system, there is footage of it doing bumb starts during the recent tests at Daytona and that just bugs me
The only thing you forgot to mention is if Peugot will run a rear wing this year or not. Wouldve liked to know that.
They will run the wing, the wingless version was a failed design.
@ didnt they almost win without the wing and then when they put it back on they became a middle/back marker throughout the rest of the season?
@@ryanvealt2151they can't change back to the old car after the 9x8 24 homologation and introduction at imola last year
Correction
At this point, Aston-Martin is Canadian. Daddy Stroll is Canadian, the money is multicolored, and the garage smells distinctly of maple syrup and poutine.
Also, watch out for AM, Adrian Newey, aka, Aero Daddy, had to do some "gardening leave" after leaving RB, so I can nearly guarantee he's had a hand in the Valk.
No he hadn't as the lmh was in development & testing b4 newey left redbull early last year( he can't join aston if i remember correctly till July) besides he was working on the rb17 still after leaving redbulls f1 team
I'd love to see Acura (honda) at Le Mans. I think we'd be in the top three teams.
Wonder if you could shed some light on why McLaren has not entered into WEC and IMSA in Hypercar? Seems to be advantageous for McLaren to join Hypercar now that Aston Martin has joined the class and with McLaren having a nice season in LMGT3? Thanks!
Looking forward to the start of the 2025 season in both IMSA and WEC. Check my recap of the 2024 seasons in each competition here www.youtube.com/@TracksideTorque/videos
Toyota for WEC and Acura for IMSA
Happy near year!!
Is there any special reason why Toyota, Ferrari, Peugeot and Alpine dont race in IMSA
Primarily because they don't want to. In the case of Alpine and Peugeot, there's also the fact that they don't really have a presence in the American car market... so racing in America makes very little sense.
Ferrari has already stated that they are focused on the WEC.
Toyota however seems to want to do a one-off race, likely at Daytona, but as far as I understand it IMSA has not been too keen on that.
Based on some article Ferrari said the car is too complex to run many car and IMSA especially. Although some rumors said Rizi competitioni talk about running Ferrari in IMSA
@@DuvJonesThere is also the fact the GR010 is designed from the ground up entirely, while LMDhs have the chassis made by either Multi-Matic, Dallara, Ligier and Oreca.
Toyota totally meets the requirements to be elligible, its just that designing an entirely new hypercar just to meet the LMDh regulations is a bit off-putting. From what I understand, you can run a LMDh in the WEC, but you cant run a LMH in IMSA.
@@limpetarch98k GTP and Hypercar are the same convergence of specs. The car isn't the issue.
It's entirely possible for Toyota to compete with the GR010, as is, by IMSA's own rules. The issue is down to a split, Toyota would like to just one-and-done one of the IMSA races (again, likely Daytona24). While IMSA tend to want manufacturers for the season as a whole, and at the very least for the Endurance Cup rounds.
They don't have to build a new car, Aston didn't (modified from the road/track car, but the Valkyrie is still the Valkyrie). The car spec has nothing to do with Toyota's lack of motivation for an IMSA campaign.
In the alpine case, there was a rumour about them potentially competing in imsa on 26 or 27(when they plan on selling cars in the us) but like I said that was only a rumour
bring back vanwall, isotta and glick
Yeah!!
👍 💪 :)
Nice vid. Interesting that Aston Martin hasn't got a hybrid component. Won't that penalise them on fuel efficiency for endurance and mean they'll need more pit stops?
Normally it would but the wec and imsa have rules to balance that out
@TexasNightmare24 virtual energy?
Didn't they already confirm that Riley will run the SC63 in MEC?
Not officially confirmed as of yet, but hopefully they will join forces with Riley. Racer.com was the first to report, and they and Marshall Pruitt are always very reliable and trustworthy!
Porsche and BMW!
Good choices!
Meyer Shank Racing is Ohio based so ill be rooting for them.
5:07 let's fucking go !! V12 !!
Isn't the engine capacity regulated to a maximum of 5.5 litres or is it just for the lmdh prototypes ??
There is no limit for displacement, just engine type that must be gasoline (minus V4)
@kidpagronprimsank05 what about forced induction. Can a team run a high displacement engine with forced induction??
Can you do a vid covering the VP Sports Car Challenge GTDX?
I do have a video where I’ll be talking about it. Could Idea for some coverage!
Hail to Peugeot! I'm tired of "white-collar cars" in the grids.
(I'm lying, I love Porsches and Ferraris, but I grew up on rallying).
Can you tell me about your favourite hyper car brand for 2025? Please 🙏🙏
I love them all! But I do have a special soft spot for Porsche as someone who watched them win and before that Audi at Le Mans growing up
IGTC Preview video Jonah?
Coming soon… 👀
>including the lambo
PepeLaugh
I think Toyota should change the front design of hypercar
vanwall didnt choose to pull out the FIA rejected their application
For 2024, for 2025 I don’t believe Vanwall was rejected.
Lambo had gone, so has my interest.
do you guys know how is the world cup hypercar gonna work with only two customers cars in WEC hypercar category?
i mean, is it possible that they'll have podiums for just two cars?
Yes they will, they did it in 2022 and for that they had 1 car competing for 2 rounds (JOTA) before the the Proton started.
What about Manthey, and The Iron Dames?
They’ll be racing in GT in the WEC, with the Iron Dames in IMSA as well
Look no further … Aston Martin
