A Look Inside a Paris Apartment

- Well, here we are! Just over six months in our new home, and I am finally getting into the groove of things and ready to share an apartment tour. We are still very much a work in progress over here, but it has been fun to take this place from EMPTY (8 suitcases and just 12 boxes), to fully functioning as a family home for us.

I like that it's a contemporary space that still feels French. Great job decorating and keeping it family friendly.

Beautiful appartement! Nice space, windows , not to much stock, very cosy simple but very chic also, dining space, living room are simply amazing love it! And your bedroom peacefull place and the kids one is such original! Love your appartement! ❤

It's a beautiful apartment. All the character is magnificent, and the fact that you don't have it over-decorated, yet it seems to have all the comforts of home is fabulous. You really do have a marvellous kitchen. From what I've seen, so many European city apartments have really narrow kitchens - so strange given how much activity happens in them! You did a great job cleaning up after two kids... I wouldn't blame you if you never wanted to do another apartment tour! Though it's always useful to have a good excuse to clean up!
We definitely tend to like things light and airy, so while I'll likely add a few more character pieces I don't think it will be much more. Plus, it is just more things for my kids to potentially break. :P But really, we want all of the French charm to stand out!
I'm grateful to have such a wide kitchen since I really enjoy cooking. And I really only managed the cleaning since they are both in school! It is a lot to keep up with those wild boys. :)
@TheJackfruitLife Yeah, house decorating with 2 young 'uns can be iffy, I'm sure. Great that they are in school! Hiw's their French? Must be getting pretty good by now, n'est pas?
Beautiful home! I love the boys’ room! I am amazed that you found an apartment so large in Paris! I would have loved to see the bathroom too.
I wanted to share the bathrooms, but they were so small it was hard to film. But FYI- it is a water closet, one full bath, and one shower room. You actually do get to see the empty version of them in my apartment hunting video. :)
And I love the boys room, too! It makes me happy to be in there. :)
Lovely architectural details and fire surround.
The UK is also within Europe and it's entirely standard for rentals to come with basic white goods (oven, washing machine, fridge freezer), though only the fully furnished places will have wardrobes.
Really like your attitude to not buying place holders and some of the pieces (that little wall desk for example) are really lovely

5.58. The lounge chair is beautiful. Also I loved that you sat on it barefoot, that looked so laidback, relaxed and attractive at the same time.

Love the apartment - so roomy for Paris!! You've done a great job. J'aime particulièrement le double séjour. Vous avez fait du bon travail. La seule chose que je changerais, c'est le luminaire à ampoule noire avec les cordons qui traversent le mur. J'opterais pour un lustre en cristal classique, peut-être avec des chapeaux hauts de forme.
Mon appartement à Hoboken, dans le New Jersey, est également un aménagement double séjour avec cheminée (2) et portes françaises.
Thank you! The problem with the light is the ceiling - it is solid cement! As it was not pre-wired for a light, we had very limited options. :D

Nice,you need to get the mirror positioned lower ,closer to the chimney mantel.
I actually like it a bit higher, given the decor I have there and its relationship with the other frames/furniture on the wall and its relative space in the molding regarding the top and bottom.

@@TheJackfruitLifeAs long as you are happy that's the most important. I was just mentionning how we position mirrors above chimneys in France,which is à few cm.above the mantel.

The apartment is lovely. I also enjoyed the video where you showed the apartments that you decided against. May I ask what sites did you initially use to narrow your search prior to arriving in Paris for the apartment tour/viewings?
SeLoger was the best resource because it pulls in listings from other sites. Other than that, if I were doing it again, I'd work with a realty company. France does not have a central database of listings, so it's really by luck that we found the right apartment for us!

I got it from a store here called Habitat. Yes - the oval is so nice and easy to walk around! Perfect for a busy room in a small space. :)

Thank you so much! And yes, it did! Luckily our moving boxes fit in the elevator, but everything else went up the stairs. When we move out, everything will go out the window and be conveyed down by a sliding platform. 😲

It is similar to a linen, but obviously more robust to stand up to use. It's ampm from LaRedoute.

As beautiful as the flat is (and it really is!), the video is poor quality. It's shaky, often times out of focus, and the camera panning is too fast. I had to pause way too many times to get a really good look at the interior that, again, is on point.

Love the entry...don't know why we had a prolonged shot of the very dull unattractive overhead light...love the marble tray over the radiator...so the kitchen still looks like a white box...but love the width... pretty apartment but the furniture is very dull for a `100 year old apartment...love the living room and the crown molding...sorry when you say the bedroom has a lot of colors...it does not ...everything is still very white...this is a nice apartment...but the design is meh...

Decoration très triste, assez cheap très représentative de la France. A budget égal, la décoration américaine, anglaise est vraiment beaucoup plus confortable et luxueuse. Décevant.
Il faudra vraiment décerner une médaille à vos parents pour l'éducation qu'ils vous ont donnée ! Autant d'inculture, d'impolitesse et de bêtise en deux phrases, c'est rare. Passer une soirée avec vous et votre famille, ça doit être sacrément éprouvant 😂
