Thanks for the wicked tunes DJ Heartburn ❤️🔥
Bahahaha
I love the needle drops! Please keep doing that. Loved the Soul Brothers. Been streaming them since I watched this. Thank you!
Nosey Road Band were a killer band from Botswana... love them, use to have a cassette tape a friend brought back from Angola... wow... brings back memories
This was a VG+++ video.
How dare you.
TT is a great addition, Thanks.
Thanks fer the Dorothy Ashby recommendation. I've just ordered a 4 album collection on cd. Excellente!
Keep that TT right where it is! Good addition.
this stuff is in my wheelhouse. great vid!
Love bringing a turn table in you should definitely start the rip channel. I've been looking everywhere for that Studio G - Images library record you recommended
Very cool video, Dillon! Keep bringin' the heat!!!
The Impressions record has a cover of Inner City Blues, from What's going on.
Great stuff! Thanks for sharing.
Can't wait to hear your rip of Underground Fire! (please)
Love the needle drops! Those African records are 🔥
Thanks!
I can not figure out why no one is watching these heavy rotation videos. I have a lot of crackly African albums but it doesn’t matter, it’s just so damn cool. Illonga blew me away. Thank you for the samples. Luckily Anaolog Africa and a lot of represses are being done so people can here this. I have Crossbones, totally different from what you played. I did just get a OG of Fela Kuti Yellow Fever, great album. I love The Turntable, that gets me excited.
Awesome! Thanks steve!
Its always about the music. The music matters the most
Yes!
Love the needle drops and I really interested in Zamrock and Afrobeat type stuff.
There is a young fella here, a DJ, with a small record shop and this is all he sells. The shop is more of a way for him to fund his own collection. Because it’s all imported it’s very expensive but super cool! I try to go there once a month and pick something up to take home and he always spins the coolest albums. Mixes them and all the good stuff. Great way to spend a few hours 😃
Keep it coming!
Where?
@@danielrhoden2973 Shanghai. Before this crazy lockdown. I hope he is still in business once things get back to normal (if thing get back to normal!)
loved that with a truntable. Yeah rip some stuff starting with that awesome Freeway record. How about curating a compilation of Zam Rock for Numero Group Records. They re-release some really cool stuff.
I’m on it!
Can’t get enough of Dorothy Ashby. All of her records need to be reissued and stay in stock.
YUP
Love all the African and Reggae albums..keep em comin! I went to Zambia 7-8 years ago and wish I knew then what I know now. Definitely would have done some digging.
Wow I bet so!
Just had that Willian DeVaughn record but ended up trading it to a local record store for store credit since I found it for cheap and could make a profit on it. It has some cool tunes and I even think a song on it was sampled by N.W.A on "Gangsta Gangsta".
Yo speaking of local presses scored a local Montgomery press last weekend. Found 69 Eldorado by Lisa Ballantine for two bucks and it’s looking FRESH. One of the rarest, most expensive records I’ve ever found
Awesome video 👌🏼
Really appreciate the trade for those rare jazz albums and i hope you enjoy them! Cant wait to do it again one day! Ive been loving the metal stuff🤘
Thanks bawsss
Love the idea of an African channel. Super hard to find any info/ even music and I would be great to have a place to pool resources, chat and find out about new music. Love your work and look foward to visiting your shop one day
Whenever I watch the rotation videos, I have to stop and search to see if each of the albums appeals at all, if I should add it to my want list, etc. So I appreciate your putting some of the records on so we can have a listen while you're talking about it. I also like that you bring up offbeat stuff as there's likely no other way I'd come across it on my own. So thanks!
Thanks so much!
I do the exact same thing. Can't tell you how much music I've gotten into from Dillon.
Very cool to learn about the records from Africa! Does anyone know of a channel that focuses mainly on African music?
This might be the very first time I recall Dylan mentioning prices he paid.
And yes Bill Evans is cool. He made plant music cool. That's pretty cool.
Yeah I don’t very often. I guess I’m more open with the new Channel 🤣
I have always liked Neil Young's freedom album I remember having a cassette when it first came out... Really good video Dylan as always
Thanks Rod!
"Noble Records Rip It Up" already has a familiar ring to it...
A regret I have is not sourcing out Records when I was working in Benin, West Africa.
I worked in Benin for nearly four months, and a few weeks in Niger, in the mid 2000's.
There was quite a bit of travelling, and was in well remote areas. Though did spend good bit time around Cotonou (the main city), and had some time off. Guess I was more focused on purchasing CDs in the early / mid 2000's, and wasn't really aware of African Music (other than the Kuti's and Miriam Makeba, and "Graceland").
p.s. I usually listen to album music on Discogs rather than the TH-cam. Listening to music on Discogs means there are no Ads (commercials), unlike the TH-cam !
.
Yes! Very true!
You're blessed to be in a position to not only purchase but explore different types of music.
Unfortunately it's a full-time job for me just to keep up with my main focus of collecting rock and metal.
I can't believe you fell in to that Black Sabbath.
Not my favorite Sabbath album, but for $30 bucks I would have snapped it up - great pick 😉
Thanks man! Yes I love what I do!
I was in Africa a couple of years ago for a vacation and kicking myself I did not reserve a day to go on a record safari. What was I thinking?
Wow. I’d love to trade some records with those kids.
I'm about 6 months behind with my TH-cam subscriptions so you might mention them later, but are you familiar with the Swedish band Goat? I think they might be your cup of tea 🙂
You need to get Shark Move - Ghede Chokra's
New channel just rippin’ vinyl? Hell yea sign me upppp! 👍👍🙏🏻 BTW - Check out Stella Chiweshe - she and her band F@#N rocks! Try the album “Shungu” first!
On it! Thanks!
....Fred Cole was in the Rats?!?....like "Rats Revenge parts I & II" ?!?....
About midway through I had to grab a few tums!,………
Keep an eye out for an artist called M.D Shrinda And the Gaza Sisters and thank me later 😉
It really makes me smile to see more people appreciating Afro Beat. So good
Thanks man!
Many thanks for that introduction to Zamrock (I've just bought both Rikki Ililona and The Ngozi Family - reissues of course - because of that video). By the way, are you familiar with Mbongwana Star - From Kinshasa, another African killer record - ?
What is your audiophile turntable - maybe a Clearaudio or VPI 40th anniversary edition?
Play that funky music DJ
🤣🙏
Hi Dillon, Thorens TD 160 are great!
🙏🙏🙏
They were supposed to repress the DeLa Soul albums last year but nothing yet.
Hmmmm haven’t heard anything! I hope they do!
@@noblerecords-heavyrotation1792 I have an order on elusive disc. 3 Feet was supposed to be reissued in December.
Just a little more volume on the music . . . Thanks Dillon.
I’ll try!
Got me buying more genres again, thanks a lot. My wallet is in pain, just went for the VMP zamrock box because of you. I hope you're ashamed.
Hahah so ashamed
I have a album from the islands no one knows anything about and tomorrow I will look at the name of it and tell you to see if you are hip to it
Was it 'super round'? And is the record 'super black', with a 'super square sleeve'?
Yes! How’d you know ?
Please post music that can’t be found anywhere else
I'm for it, love those African records, wish I could teleport to your store. Played my Sabbath Vol 4 today, it's in great condition but when I was putting it away I was horrified to see that I'd written my name on the swirl! What a tit.
Hahaha
Why don't you use the tone arm to lift the needle up instead of your thumb?! One beer too many and that VG++ is heading down to Good and a great deal of tears
I don’t drink beer and the tone arm lift doesn’t work well.
Check me out one time. Vinyl Hunting 45rpms
