I am South African, and I had the pleasure of trying fufu with spiced mixed meat at a Nigerian restaurant. I urge you to try this. I really enjoyed it. Mhmmhm!!👌👌👌👌🇿🇦🇿🇦
@@anuforoifeanyi6386 nah ...there is only one type of fufu here in Nigeria the one made with casava that's all the ones made with yam is called pounded yam while that of corn is called corn mill
John O! U missing out. I eat, fufu, eba( garri) etc., nearly everyday which is not right but i can't help it. With stew, egusi soup. Ochra, pepper pot soup, fish aah!😂😂😂 i love it. Ok, im Jamaican living in Canada 🇨🇦, been having African dishes since the 80s, but im stuck with nigerian dishes. You should try it.
I love Fufu and I also love the soup. When I go grocery shopping I'm going to buy the ingredients and I'm going to make me some Fufu and soup. I know how to cook a lot of African dishes
@@monicabiney7812Yh in Ghana we call it agbelima and we mix it with corn dough to make Banku out of it 😋perfectly paired with Okro soup and other accompaniments as well
It depends on the type of cassava and the weather, too. It takes about 3 to 4 days, but to help fasten the fermentation, add some charcoal. That's what my mum usually does way back.
Wow from Uganda have always wondered which process makes it that white Our food from cassava flour has colour maybe because our process involves sun drying What i want to know is do you use any type of cassava that we eat or there is a particular type of cassava plant for that like we do here
I really want to eat fufu.It looks really tasty. But unfortunately I live in a country which doesn't know this food.I will try to make it by myself!!😭💗Love Africa!!
I’m Ghanaian and we eat it just like this at home with okro stew, plain fermented cassava dough, starchy and so white, I keep explaining it to others😂😂Lol 🤤🤤🤤
In my country, Sierra Leone 🇸🇱, the mashed cassava is soaked into water for days so it could get fermented, and get sour a bit. Ideally, it is eaten with slimy soup like okra, tola(ogbonor) or krain krain.
If you let it thaw a little bit more in those cloths, you could wrap them in plastic films and plantain leaves, boil them for about 3/4 hours, and you have Congolese traditional kwanga/tshikwang. It's way better than fufu (but, tbh I've been a fufu hater for most of my life 😂). We usually always cook fufu with semolina or corn flour. I'll try this method, and I'll see if I like it better (I'll be back here to give some news).
Eeish,u Nigerians,i think this meal is a delicasy in ur country. Many Nigerian movies i always see this meal being shared. Im definitely going to try it, especially tht sticky n seemingly elastic soup..
We do this too in Philippines but we ate it as a snack we cook then pound it until it sticky and we add butter/margarine and sugar sometimes with coconut milk and served 😊
I am from Korea, never tried fufu before. But I can see how much effort are needed to cook this, Great African mothers!!
You're loved darling ❤

Less effort than Kimchi.

This is what we call banku In Ghana 🇬🇭. Indigenous to the Voltareans.
Nooo 😂. Banku is made from fermented maize.
I'm Kenyan it took me years to tell the difference between banku, fufu, swallow, semo etc!!
Not true. This is not banku.
We have this food in the Volta Region but mostly we cook it when you're financially down.
This is just cassava dough, it's another method of making cassava dough. You then mix it with corn dough to make banku
@@delytwise99do our people still eat this? It's been quite long since I saw someone eat it.

Wonderful, and ive been seeing cassava in Walmart o, how long did you wait for it to ferment?
3 days
3 or less it depends on the weather if the weather is hot one or two days is okay this how we make our fufu
It depends on the type of cassava and the weather, too. It takes about 3 to 4 days, but to help fasten the fermentation, add some charcoal. That's what my mum usually does way back.
