- In this video I take a look at an AFS enclosure! Simply put this is a diy style fight stick where you can either buy the enclosure itself or fully decked out to your own imagination. I sped through this one because there's only so much to say about an all metal enclosure but AFS has a trick up its sleeve. I had alot of fun putting this one together for you guys, so please enjoy!

Hey since you've tried the noir and sega p2 layout which feels more natural via hand placement?
@@Zinksk8er tbh I dont prefer more than the other. On the Sega 2P the 2-3 column is parallel to each other where the noir's 3rd column is at a angle.

After you mentioned doing an American build I've been researching parts. It didn't take very long. IL from Spain, their levers and buttons are the best from what I could find. Seeing a Merica build would be intriguing and nostalgic.
i actually put together a american build on stream a little while ago. I'm pretty sure I will be doing a video on it but I just dont know when quite yet let alone at all as it was a more curious venture for myself.
Props for selling/gifting unused sticks! I too love building a playing with new tech but hate collections of useful shit.
I try to keep it to a home stick and road stick.
I would like a review an American sticks like the Eurosticks or Happs. I prefer Eurostick because they are made better and use the original mold of the Happ designs before the Suzo merger. I don't think you'd like it though because it still uses a spring tension system and I know you don't like those as much

Q1 18" .. it's a very long joystick.. is it too big ?
Q2 11.5 pounds .. wow... and you can play on your lap with this big boy ? How many minutes can you play with this "burden" on your lap ?

@@alexnostalgix I see. I went to the AFS website and saw an 18" case that looks like yours but description there says it uses adhesive PCB standoffs while yours is using a PCB mounting plate
You mentioned in this video the idea of doing an "American" build. PLEASE DO! I've been working on making an American style stick with IL long stem buttons (to simulate the Killer Queen Arcade machine I'm used to playing on). I haven't been able to find any enclosures that will fit the long stem buttons, and even the short-stem IL buttons seem to be too big for the usual Japanese-style enclosure. Allfightsticks makes an IL/Happ style enclosure, but I can't tell if it's tall enough, and I'm thinking I'll have to make my own box. Any ideas or recommendations? Would love to see the American style build from you!

As someone who collects sticks, I was considering buying one and getting a Virtua stick layout with a 24mm face start button. But 18" seems slightly too big and I really only want an aluminum panel; the entire thing doesn't need to be metal.
If I end up buying one, I'd probably sell my 25 sticks..
Hot damn, I didn't know those AFS cases would be that loud.. Maybe try filling the empty space with some acoustic dampening foam, or something like Dynamat on the interior walls to reduce the reverb.
Btw, how are those clear Sanwa button plugs? Are they flatter than the normal plastic ones? I've been thinking about picking up a pair for that classy 6 button layout. Being able to put art in them is nice too.
I did awhile ago by throwing in two shirts lol. The reverb is still there, probably need sound dampening foam or something.
