Just a piece of advice. The turtles are reversible. Put them on the other side of the cutter so it’s spinning the opposite direction and you get twice the life out of it.

Had to replay the start of the video, because I thought I heard you say that the Deere MoCO worked better than Krone......We grow Hybrid Bermuda Tifton 44, so a conditioner is not needed.......We have 3 Kmc cart mtded easy cut 320s.......
Yes, our Krone EC320 does a great job cutting, but unlike yours it’s not on a dolly. So every time it’s getting hooked and unhooked it never fails that it’s not on level ground. Main reason for trying the moco is that with the rice, we needed to cut it different heights in different fields. I have the additional skids on the EC320 but other than that, it’s not really easy adjusting cut height. The MoCo has skids that are adjustable, hooking it up is so much easier and also when we ran the Krone, it was on our John Deere 5100…. The tractor handled it fine, but transporting it on a trailer wasn’t always easy. It had to go on a certain trailer to haul it hooked up and that trailer is always used between my dad and myself… I have no complaints with Krone, just the MoCo works better for what we are doing. The previous owner of the Moco should have swapped the turtles to the other side of the cutter bar to make them spin the other direction so they would wear more evenly. Looks like they didn't realize they are reversible to get more use out of them. Are all 946 & 956 Moco's capable of going into transport on a dolly like that or is that one made specific for it?
I think they both can as long as they have the transport cylinder on top that allows the tongue of the moco to swing all the way to the right. The 946 we have doesn’t have that specific cylinder.
It can probably. The 4440 back wheels are spread pretty wide. There’s a block that keeps it from going into the transport position (right). The other direction (left) can go farther. If you pull the rope that lets it go into the transport mode it can go farther to the right side.
@@brianlengel the cutter cuts 14.6’. So driving down the middle of the swath it’s able to swing out far enough to utilize the full cut width on the next swatch.

Are you liking it still and what kind of speed can you do in alfalfa?
Thanks for watching. I haven’t run it in alfalfa. Mostly blue stem and jigs, which it does great. Good blades make all the difference.
Also, will it swivel far enough to clear a dual wheel tractor?

And this would be dual row crop, so like extend left of right 5.5' of center or even up to 6'?
