Using the black to white tonal range like this to demonstrate is brilliant! Most ppl would use a photo for demonstration, but this does it so much better
3 year old video and I just stumbled on this. Wow, this is an extremely powerful adjustment!!! I knew about the highlight and shadow adjustments but didn't know about the color options and blend mode. Thanks so much for the awesome video!!!! Your videos have taken my post processing to a new level. Much appreciated!!!
Yes I agree, thanks Olivio. I've tended to steer clear of levels as I didn't really understand what it was doing it was more of a hit and miss type of thing.
Thanks so much for explaining this! I would love to see videos like this on each adjustment type, live filters, etc. to help me understand the “why” of things. You do such an amazing job explaining things. Thank you!
hey Olivio ! This is the kind of content that brings more value to Affinity users. This suite of software is still kind of misterious and we need some teachings like this to help us grow. To define a precise tool/adjustement/function and demonstrate it in a practical way is life saving. Thank you so much ! Hope more will come
Hands down you're one of the best at presenting Affinity Photo.👌 They should have you as an Honorary Staff Member. Or have them sponsor Oli TV 2020 lol.😅😆 🎶🌟 Could you do an in-depth tutorial on smart objects, please Sir? Most appreciative. Thank you
Another superb explanation and demonstration, Olivio. Thank you! As a relative novice, I find your Affinity tutorials well explained and practical in application 🙃
Hi, love your works :-) I have a question... I saw that you use windows, did you have some issues with the CPU Usage with the Affinity suite? I'm having this problem with both Photo and Publisher... On the forum I couldn't find any help, and I noticed that other people with the same problem are using Windows verion. My PC is pretty good, so i don't think is its fault and with Photoshop for example, with similar document, I don't have the same issues at all. Hope my english is good enough ^^'
I have recently lost a very important tool which I need to find ,it is the modes adjuster at top left of page this tool adds and subtracts to selection tool switches on off liquify and so on . Can you tell me how to get this back it seems there is no documentation , if you tell me where and what it is in the manual I will find it thanks
Hi Peter, thank you for the feedback. To be honest, when it coems to the color channels i mostly go by my eyes and what feels right. The histogram is a good starting point to give you an overview of how things are though :)
until Olivio does, you can always grab tutorials done by Affinity Revolution as this couple is the only creators I have seen working with iPad users of AP
Buy an iPad Pro and i will ;) On a more serious note: iPads are just so expensive and from what i told the workflow is almost the same. So i simply can't afford it at his point. Sorry

OLIVIO great eye-opener. Your classes are at a higher level of teaching and learning. Thank you.
Thanks so much for this; this might be the best explanation I've come across for what these adjustments are actually doing to the image.
Thank you, OdatNurd. That's great to hear. Happy i could help you improve

Thank you Olivio! In ten minutes you've shown me how to use a great tool in Affinity.
Mind blown. How did I not know this before? Fantastic explanation and examples.
Thank you, Fred. Happy i could help :)

Thank you so much for this explanation, it’s opened up a world of opportunities beyond the simple master levels adjustments that I’ve been doing
Thank you Adam. Happy i could help to improve your skills :)
Many thanks Olivio for another well explained video, I will be messing about with the Levels as you suggest.

Thsnk you, Tom, that is so nice to hear :)

Thank you, it is very helpful!
You are welcome Dusk :)
Thank you Olivio
Can I use the "Output Black Level" slider for Print paper black point compensation ?
yes, that's a great use for it, so you don't have a 100% black value on your print
You are a master!!! Ty very much! :)
ThNk you, Diego :)
This is Gold! Thank you :)
Thank you, Yvette :)
Hi. Is it possible to use mask with the Levels, to limit the effects? Thanks.
Yes, adjustment Layers have a build in Mask, but you can also add a Mask Layer to it sperately. :)

Yes Affinity photo can be very CPU hungry at times. But since I upgraded my computer to a new i7 processor I haven't had much problems.
Fantastic!!
Thjank you Stacy :)
Thank you
You are welcome, Kenny :)

right click on the upper toolbar (called "context toolbar") and select "customize toolbar". now you can add or remove anything you want :)
superduper, thank you!! :)
You are welcome, 60sec :)
@@OlivioSarikas thanks! I'm more into music, but i need tipps for Affinity Software, so you're the man! Great work.
Ty
where can I get this vertical column image? thank you.
Hi Ruth, you mean the grey blocks? I made that myself. Simply use the rectangle tool to draw tem out, then fill each with a grey value acordingly :)
Terrific!
Thank you, JC
Wow
Unfortunately you forgot to update the histogram window when you started working with the girl's portrait & I found that quite distracting.

Buy an jPad Pro and do some vlog for its platform!

Ставлю лайк, но можно было бы, конечно, не на 10 минут растягивать. Материала тут на 3 минуты, если подробно объяснять - то на 5.
sry, i don't speak russian
Very interesting. Thank you!
You are welcome, Chuck
