Very very happy with the P9 lite. I am positively surprised with the result of the water test. Another reason to feel good about this phone from day 1.

My p9lite fell into a lake this weekend on Saturday, was in a (non) waterproof case. The phone was in the lake for about 15-20 mins before i located it and got it out and it was still on when i recovered it (it was a ~2 foot deep boating lake that was really clear, fortunately). I turned it off straight away and dried it out on a radiator in rice for 24hrs or so, then later the next day turned it back on. So far its worked without any issues around the wifi, headphone jack, speaker and charging and its now 2 days on from the incident. The phone has had in the past a new screen and new battery (due to me sitting on it) and i was pretty worried that because the case had been opened in the past that would cause a weakness in any existing seal, but it seems OK. Ill update if the phone stops working or starts to show any faults.

Then how is it useful to spend more money on a supposedly 'water resistant' phone? You can't control how deep the water you might drop it in is.
