I was in a daze looking over all the options for my first EDC belt awhile back and got the hybrid EDC on your recommendation. I have been extremely happy with it, and have been eyeballing their lite battlebelt for my first, as well. Great to be able to see it on a build out and get a better understanding of how the weight comparison actually plays out. Thanks as always!
Wow am I old, back in my day 1980 to 1992 we had leather Sam Browns in Basketweave, granted we didn’t have our own AR’s but with a 1911 and six spare mags and two cuff cases and PR24. We had sap pockets in of uniform pants for our flashlights and dare I say saps.
Blue Alpha makes great stuff. I have a few of their belts. Even their shirts and hats are great. Whoever is in charge of the Safariland naming convention and website needs to be kicked in the junk.
I do Armed security on a City contract and my main belt is a bit on the heavy side and I have back and knee problems due to me doing amateur rodeo back when I was younger. So there are times when my back bothers me. So I have their non Molle duty belt it is nice and light have it set up as a spare duty belt with a lighter gun and equipment.
The only issue with the plastic buckle is that it’s not weight rated. If someone is using this as an actual duty belt and they take a round and go down, and you have to drag their ass out of the way, if you go to drag them by their belt the buckle could potentially break. That’s my only qualm with it. Other than that, the whole thing is awesome and I can’t wait to get mine in the mail.
may i ask what you do with mags when it comes to firearms qual? I just switched my mags to my best but I do not want to wear my vest during quals. Thank you
My agency requires armor that said I typically will use an Esstac double pistol mag gap with one wrap. I just put it on front left shoot and then take it off
Most glocks sold in the U.S. are made in Smyrna, Georgia now, especially contract guns, and Safariland has a separate line of manufacturing for most of their stuff to comply with the berry amendment. It’s kinda hard to know without running serial numbers as the quality is identical. If you want, you can totally claim that all your stuff is made in America. And I also think Zaktool is still made in the USA, or at the least they source the rings from overseas.
Personal that will be followed by the department. Ballistically speaking 9mm makes more sense than 40, more rounds and less recoil make more accurate shooters plus less expensive.
@SixtyFirstBn I know guys that run a 1.75 belt for duty and they have no issues you could hit an issue with legacy belt stuff aized for that OG Sam Browne but with a molle belt u see no issues at all as long as your belt loop for the holster is sized correctly

Great review, thanks for all your hard work making the great content.
Very happy with my Battle Belt Lite. 10 months now, no issues with the polymer buckle.

I just ordered this belt from Blue Alpha several days ago. Well see how it runs compared to their old 2" duty belt.
Which one do you prefer?
@@400exCrf450rRider I haven't switched to it yet.
i just wish the mollie went fully around on the battle belt lite

I've been drug by mine more than once zero issues. Weight rated only matter for helo stuff but these belts aren't helo rated anyway
Sell me the slick version 😢 I need a new duty belt and it’s my first time looking for one !

Man i really recommend an OT Defense Mub Mod for your als holster, it's an awesome edition to an already great holster.
there is one on it I agree they are amazing
can we talk flashlight holsters/pouches?
Is the switch from 40 to 9 a departmental decision or a personal one? Great stuff as always 👍

Have a question for that UBL is for 2 inch belt and thats belt is 1.75 do you have any issues with it?
I haven't had any issues with stability
i don’t like how flimsy it looks, is that a problem for you?
Not at all its flexible enough to be comfortable but vertically it's incredibly rigid
Why do you not have magazine pouches on your belt?
they are on my outer carrier
Can we actually see you with the belt on?
I'm wearing it in the last part of the intro that's the lite in multicam at the end of about 20 plus hours over 2 days
@@unclefreedom213 I know. I was just talking about the new belt lol
Is your molle lite a 2” or 1.75”?
duty is 2" the normal is 1.75 I have both
@@unclefreedom213 would you ever recommend a 1.75” molle for duty use?

Plastic cobra buckle 🤔 maybe.....
I have the aluminum as well so far I'm impressed by the plastic cobra zero flex and zero give
Is your lite belt a 1.75” or 2”?
I think the 2 inch wide belt should be the standard instead of 1.75, it engages perfectly with molle pouches.
