    "Wear it" is the best advice out of everything. You find out what digs in, what flops around, what pinches, what you can't reach, and what gets in the way of what. If I ran any of my gear the way I first set it up I would ditch it the first chance I got.

    Trick to save your webbing from stretching, once you put your pouches and shit on use small zip ties to secure it to the belt. That way it’s not stretching your webbing at all because the zip ties are taking the load. Not to mention it’s just another layer of protection. If you do it right you’ll never even see them or know they’re there.

    I forgot to add UF, that you convinced me to trim down my belt, in comments you made in another video. You got me thinking about it, and your comments made a hell of a lot of sense.
    Thank you for all you do.

    I agree about the SafeLine belt. It is difficult to adjust, but otherwise a great best. I only wear it for training. I’m not a professional.

    Love to go to competitions in my gear.
    Some of the "game boys" scoff when you show up in full battle rattle, (effing larper!), but there really is no better way to test your gear.
    Stressed by time, moving and shooting...

    I have two, a warm weather, and a cold weather belt. 2 piece for warm, 1 piece for cold (really don't need the extra padding over a heavy coat). Both are set up the same, holster, mag holders, IFAK, comms pouch, small dump ouch . I did buy a cheaper belt for the cold weather rig (I may upgrade it down the road, but for now kept it lower cost).
    I'm not former military (I was EMS until I retired), and don't practice Operator Stuff. I work on core shooting drills and as much movement as possible (I am disabled, so heavy exercise is not something I can engage in frequently).
    Originally, I ran drop down holster and IFAK, but found that both restricted movement too much, so I returned to belt mount for both. I use the WPS Pullout IFAK pouch in the back.
    My biggest issue, since I live in a rural community of less than 400 in the town, has been finding like minded individuals to network/train with. I know that's not the subject of your current video, but I would appreciate suggestions from anyone for gathering/joining a "tribe" in NE CO (near Burlington, CO).
    I do wear it around the house, and when I go to the range. Since I CC, I don't wear it when doing regular errands. Being a former Paramedic, I always have a Jump Bag with me for medical emergencies.
    One thing I can say, retiring on disability, really limits one's income, so buying the latest and greatest is a crunch.
    Thank you Uncle Freedom, you put out really good commen sense advice.
    * Using "Tribe" in lieu of the "M" word.

    I have been running my current belt setup for 2 years . I discovered something my last training day . While running drill in the woods my boot lace became partially untied. I found out where my pistol mag pouches was I had alot of trouble bending over to tie my boots . Had to move them a couple rows .

    Well to start it off happy new years .to you and your family, and you are right when you say wear your gear as a 62 year old fart that still keeps up sheep and elk hunting with his 30 year +sons .there are so many brands out there .I have bought a lot of different ones .But the one I have used in the last 5 years is warrior gear out of 🇨🇦 not that expensive. Especially with the usd.i know not made in the USA.canada is the same pretty much .we just don't have the 2nd .2nd ..anyway take a look at it for your canada follows. Stay safe happy new year

    I have 2 that I wear depending on situation. 1 is a older HSGI slim padded molle belt that sits under the bed that I can don quickly in a “bump in the night” scenario where I’m not wearing pants with belt loops. It gives me a holster for my G17 as well as a handheld light, medical, cuffs, dump pouch, small knife, multitool, and extra mags. I have 2 young kids so I keep a pistol in a quick access nightstand safe. The other belt is a Blue Alpha light inner/outer that I run at the range.

    I consider the belts
    that you are showing To be more of a pistol belt. A true battle belt, in my opinion, would be a belt. Big enough to sustain you. On a 10 to 24 hour assault or patrol.

      that's a jungle rig which are primarily used without armor I have some and they're cool but are worlds different from a Battle, Pistol or war belt. Jungle rigs live in the LRS sectors

    Like always, thanks for the great advice.
    I notice you don't use any tear-away IFAKs, only the packet type. I've been looking at the same style you were displaying since it seems easier to retrieve. I was looking at the Refuge Medical SOB, but now I have a few others to look at in a similar style. Do you happen to have a preference regarding top opening vs side pull and I would imagine it has an affect on your belt layout since you would need room to pull the kit out the side and it would be obstructed if something was to close?

      I picked up Warrior Poet Society's pull out they released last year. It's pretty slim and has been comfortable even driving for an hour plus. It can be configured left or right, and your trauma shears are the handle, and attach to the inner pouch very securely. It was $60 for the pouch and comes in ranger, black, coyote and multi cam. Good construction and sturdy so far. It meant trimming down my IFAK components, but I threw the other components I like to have in a small shoulder bag I keep next to my gear. It looks like it functions similar to Refuge Medical SOB (which was out of stock when I trimmed my kit down).

    If youre a thin, bony bodied person with no thickness around your waist and you have no "internal padding" in your hips. The Safelife belt is more than likely going to be way to uncomfortable. I'm about 120-125 5'6" (so there's not much fat to me my metabolism kills my efforts in bulking), and I tried to justify my purchase for about a week. Ended up rubbing my skin raw with their belts and my jeans and other pants that I tried to make it work with. Just not for this pigmy lol.
    Anybody want to buy it that's a little more stout? I wanna say it's the 32-34"

    How is that ATS inner belt holding up? Do you see a need to upgrade to their riggers belt? Lastly, is the ATS belt wider than the Orion? Great video, thank you.

    • @unclefreedom213
      @unclefreedom213  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The inner belt had held up great and I'm still running it. As far as width the ATS is slightly wider than the Orion. Orion runs the squadron laminate for the molle and the ATS as bartack sewn traditional molle. I can say the ATS is more comfortable to me, easier to adjust of you need to and far far far easier to setup with thw inner belt and outer sleeve vs the Orion like 1/3 of the time if not 1/4 . It also is more stable since I'm not weaving the inner belt out of the molle fields the ATS belt all of the molle is accessible and I can access the inner belt at any point allowing me to mount my fixed blade knife etc without taking up molle or having to trial and error where I lose the molle out weaving the belt in and out on the Orion

      Thank you for such a thorough response. This would be my first belt, and Im leaning ATS, my biggest concern is that buckle looks easy to open. Have you ever had an issue with that? Thanks again. A great weekend to you.

    • @unclefreedom213
      @unclefreedom213  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @whataboutjesus425 I've never had any issue with the ATS belt. I knew a lot of guys cooler than me that were running them when I was in the military. The best part of the belt for me is it's comfortable and most importantly stable. And less expensive than most options while being made in the US
