    For anybody with a newer car, you should look into whether your stock radio requires a certain resistance level from the speakers to work correctly. After I installed the LC7i in my 2022 Outback Wilderness, I wasn't getting any sound from the rear speakers and the radio volume control was sluggish and not actually controlling the volume anymore. It turns out, the LC7i does not place an electrical load on the stereo, so the car thought that the rear speakers had been disconnected and stopped working properly as a result. To address this, you can look into the AC LGD made by Audio Control that attaches very easily to the LC7i, or if that won't work (some cars require a very specific resistance), you can just order and install a couple of resistors to the signal leads right before they go into the LC7i to get the stereo to behave correctly again.

    I've seen more videos on the LC7 than I'd like to admit & this is by far the best & only one that truly explains the inner workings well. Thank you for that!!
    I purchased this recently & an still struggling on how to / where to splice into my factory amp.
    I'm trying to avoid running new wire back to my 4 door speakers & utilize the wiring that's already there.

    • @akqjtn

      @LTSRIDE24 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@akqjtn trying to figure out where I splice into the wiring at for my signal going into the LC8...the speaker wires going into the factory amplifier or coming out?
      I have a '14 Edge Sport w/ the Sony 12 speaker system and I plan to utilize the factory amp for most of the stock speakers and the front doors, front tweeters, & rear door speakers I plan to bypass the factory amp and run through my aftermarket amp. I'd like to avoid having to run new wiring and utilize the wiring that is already in place, but I'm a little confused on where to splice in and it's not the easiest to identify which wires are going in and which are coming out, with sooooo many wires!
      My end game goal is to utilize the LC7 to run an aftermarket amp to power 6 speakers that I've already upgraded (front doors, front tweeters, and rear doors - all aftermarket Infinity speakers) & also connect to the LC7, my Orion 2500 mono amp that is currently powering (2) SA-12 v2's, which at the moment I'm using a basic Kicker LOC.

    • @akqjtn
      @akqjtn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OK, the beauty about the LC7i is that the channels can handle up to 400watts in so you could easily plug in post Amp if that's easiest. That said, best practice would be to use the signal before the Amp because that signal is cleaner since it's not already amplified.

      @@akqjtn so, I spliced into my front door speakers for my main input, rear doors for my channel 2, & spliced into my factory subwoofer wiring for my 3rd channel.
      If I'm understanding what you said, correctly, I think I have my settings correct. I switched my auto mode to OFF (DOWN), I left summing OFF (DOWN), & the other jumper DOWN also. Can you confirm that this is correct please?

    CAF is a life saver for audio installation advice. I've learned so much from that channel. Just bought the LC7i for use in my 2016 F-150 with the 8" Sync 3 7-speaker system (not Sony). Just got it hooked up and am ready to blast some tunes with a clean signal using my OEM head unit. It's a spendy piece of equipment and I wish it had an EQ controller for the same price but maybe I'm asking too much? I don't really want to add in so many signal chain units because space isn't unlimited but maybe I'll end up doing that down the line because I'm sure I'll eventually get annoyed with my limited control with a simplistic 3-band EQ.

    Regarding your front speakers and tweeters that you mentioned at 1:19, how do you combine the signal for each on this unit when only using the first two sets of inputs (assuming the third set will be left empty in order to duplicate the rear speaker channel for the sub)?
    Edit: nevermind, I watched it again and you mentioned they are already wired in parallel. I wonder if the same is true in my car for the front door speakers and tweeters (factory)... most likely as they are technically only one channel.

    • @alexandrupara4574

      If you have a setup like that in the car, mostly you have a premium audio system by factory's default. Honestly even if you upgrade to a active line output plus a DSP and amplifier, you won't "hear" a big difference (not for the money you invested, at least). But at the end of the day, if you still want to do it, keep in mind that 3 way speaker setup from the door, is most likely a single Ch with a build in crossover.

    Best video on the LC7I on basically how to install. What is the Alpine unit you have in the video? I was considering the Rockford fosgate 6 channel AMP in correspondence to the LC7I. Do you think that would be okay or would you use a separate in line amp for the speakers

    • @bradleysproul5478
      @bradleysproul5478 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Boost & Shutter that’s what I figured, since it is grabbing the signal from that second channel for the sub. Do you think it would still be alright to run dual subs, or just one

    • @M.GVARGAS
      @M.GVARGAS 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bradley Sproul to answer your last question. You can run duo duals depending on how much watts the subs are and how much watts are on your amp. For example I have 2 12 inch subs that are 1800 watts total so I got a 2500 watt amp. Also your door speakers for example if they are power range: 5-55 watts RMS (110 watts peak power) than you wold need the 2500 watt amp to hang with that amount of power. Sometimes it depends on the brand of amp you got too.

Am I understanding that correctly? Thank you for the hard work on the videos.

      Basically same setup I have. Not having much luck with setup tho. On my amp, Ch 2, Ch 4 have 38 volts on the speaker outputs with the gain at 0. But Ch 1, and Ch 3 have 17 volts which I have adjusted for gain setting. Amp keeps overheating. Very frustrating

    Can I use this lc71 with a 6 channel amp for the highs and the use it for my sub amp to !? I m confused cause 6 ch High's amp that's 3 rca inputs,2 front dash speakers and 4 door speakers, plus I would need another for the sub no !?

    Is the signal coming from the front speakers out of the head unit stronger than the rear like you said in the video? But wouldnt that be sending more high and mids to the subwoofer when it should be getting lows? Asking because I installed it that way and feel like the bass isnt hitting the lows but rather the highs and mids.. Should i just switch the rears to the channel 2 and the fronts to the main that way the sub gets more lows?

    Awesome video. Details are specific and on point. I got me a new truck and don’t want to put in an AM stereo since no one seems to hv the wires for al the new features so this video helped a lot. Wish there was a section on adding an EQ on to this as well.

    What wire connections did you use from the head unit to the LC7i to your channels 1 & 2?

    Very informative but I’m still confused on if the stock car came with 5 speakers (4 doors a center speaker and 2 Pilar tweets) will the lc7i work? Will I still have access to fade and balance from the stock control of the deck?

    I am looking to install one of these. How would I go about providing a dedicated remote in wire to turn on the LOC?

    very helpful, thank you. For a 2017 Toyota 4 Runner with a non JBL stereo, would you recommend using the stock speaker wire? I've upgraded the dash and front door speakers. Thanks in advance!

    Will this LOC push enough watts to my Mono Amp at 500 watts @ 2 ohm? I have Focal EVOs front Mids/tweeters and the Same in the rear with an Alpine Amp and Kicker TRTP 12 Down firing Sub with a Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000x1bd amp.
