For the Americans, Matthew Wright is a British "journalist" who really did talk like this on his terrible show called The Wright Stuff a few years ago. Hence the remark by Rob at the end
Yeah, the flow of information these days is so rapid, people call you names and leave proud of themselves even before asking you about any of your views. At this rate, I suspect in a few decades people will have their digital mailboxes filled to the brim with death threats to get through... before they're even born.
@@VestinVestin The problem is once the insults come out people like us just go "typical" and start either doing the same or leaving the conversation. What people need to learn is de-escalation. Try to calm everything down and fix the problem instead of just getting annoyed and complaining. Too many people assume that people who disagree with them are dumb. The only way we fix conflict is by practicing peacefulness ourselves - Ghandi... Oh no wait, me.
I don't know, but for some reason I find the short shots where Mitchell just says "what?" really funny, almost as though his attention is diverted and he is just barely paying attention.
Wait, why wouldn't one admit to being in favour of the congestion charge to a cab driver? I thought cab drivers were exempt, wasn't that why there was a minor scandal about non-cabbies paying for a cab license just to avoid the CC? Wouldn't cab drivers be in favour of the congestion charge? More people using cabs so they can avoid the charge, less congestion on the roads they work on. What have I got wrong?
Wow, I thought that access to abortion wasn't a particularly contentious issue here in the UK (save for opposition from a relatively small number of vocal, mostly religious people). Am I wrong? I sincerely hope we're not heading in the direction of the US on abortion.
Rob's got a point, at the end. From what I've seen on the internet, this is about as "adult" as conversations between white people about Islam are capable of being.
I happen to re-watch the video six months later, and look how incredibly mature the conversation has been in my absence. I stand chastened and bowed. Surely, I've learned my lesson about making glib comments on the state of internet discourse.
Islamophobia is a ridiculous term. It is perfectly rational to have a fear in an ideology that thinks it's normal to blow yourself up and take as many people with you as possible. If you want mature adult conversation go to 4chan. Though I'd try to dial down the 'pompous ass' tone. Also look up glib. You can't get butthurt if it truly was 'a glib comment'. Nor retort.
David just wasn’t ready for BIG TALK, silly boffin
RIGHT BOFFINS LETS GET THIS SORTED!

Ironic that a man named Wright could be so Wrong.
Thanks, that helps. Wish I had you watching these over my shoulder.
Is this advice available for other nationalities?
"Come on boffins! We need to know if happy religious foetuses should pay the congestion charge; it's important!"
LETS GET THIS SORTED, IF WE CAN JUST ABOUT BE BOTHERED
That went better than most online discussions of issues

I think it's more that cab drivers are working class, global warmings a myth, type people

Jessica Lee And retorting to racist remarks is much more mature, right?
Jessica Lee you musn't have had many then I assume. Or maybe you just ignorantly scream "islamaphobe!" at ppl who are against terrible ideologies..?
