    is it better if the arm has a spring or not? because I heard its bad to have a spring because it will pick up more noise etc.

    I just purchased my first boom arm a week ago and I went with the Innogear for the aesthetics. I don't particularly like having the springs exposed on a boom arm and from what I've heard is that any time you hit the springs (by accident of course) it'll cause vibrations to travel to your mic. The built in springs gives the Innogear boom arm that clean, minimalistic look that I like. As for the arms being stiff, I don't mind it since I really won't be moving it too much.

    • @TobiasHolenstein
      @TobiasHolenstein  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Glad to hear the Innogear stand is working out for you! and that is a good point, the springs do tend to make some noise when you hit them

    I had to get a replacement for the Tonor 2 weeks after I got it. The tightening knob that locks it's position in place didn't tighten enough (and it's made of plastic and soft metal) , and I ended up over tightening it and breaking it. The stand was also just VERY free flowing. The replacement came, and I could then tighten it with out over tightening, and the stand was a lot more stiff (a good thing). Needles to say, quality control is an issue, and the plastic is cheap. I do like it a lot, however beware of quality control

    I got the InnoGear 37"-38" large arm stand yesterday, and the threading of that arm does not want to screw into the same silver Blue Yeti Mic that you have. I am really disappointed in the InnoGear one that I got, so now, I am getting a refund and possibly getting the Tonor mic arm you have. How is the Tonor arm holding up for you since this video?

    • @TobiasHolenstein
      @TobiasHolenstein  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear that it didn't fit your Yeti! The threading must have been messed up on the mic stand or something. My Tonor arm stand is still working great. I still use it on a regular basis and I love it

    if the inno gear boom arm had a better moving spring and a better clamp, as the tonor positions the microphone weight on the desk, whereas the inno gear clamp has it positioned off the desk, i feel like combining the smoothness and clamp of the tonor, and the asthetic of the innogeae, that is the perfect budget boom arm

    Hello, I have had my engine light come on and read P0520 Engine Oil Sensor Switch Circuit which costed me $450 to fix and then a week later an Icicle demolish my back window "Safelight Repaired" today. Now after a few hours I go outside to start it up to let it run a bit and my car indicated no FOB detected along with "Rear Trunk Ajar" leaving me with no engine start because it's saying trunk is open, I have slammed all doors and still nothing It is below 20 degrees here, do you have a clue why it thinks my trunk is open and what can I do because money is short. Desperately seeking your advice

    • @TobiasHolenstein
      @TobiasHolenstein  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear that! I don't know exactly what the problem might be, but I imagine it has to do with the FOB and probably not the trunk being detected as open. If the car does not detect the key fob it won't turn on. Edit: Do you happen to have a spare key? Maybe give that one a try

    why dont people mention how the arm just sits freely on the clamp without anything holding it in place; If I lift up the arm the hole thing would come off the clamp. It'll also shake the arm because the male and female connectors don't fit each other. Its basically like throwing a hotdog down a hallway or using an elevator without the guide rail keeping it in place. in the elevator, you'll end up with something that's able to move vertically fast but every time you use the doors, it'll wobble from left to right. This'll probably be expensive, but i'd be down to pay for one that stays down when you connect it while also having something like ball bearings so it'll spin freely.

      He did say they sent it to him. So I'm assuming its a little bias ; but I could be wrong.

    READ THIS! it's pretty long. I just bought the innogear mic arm stand large. It was super stiff out of the box. When I used it, it put so much pressure on the clamp ( just how Tobias said) making a part of my desk break where the clamp was. I have an Ikea desk and even though it's not the best quality, I think a mic arm stand shouldn't be making desks break. And even though the mic arm stand looks cool and simple like the rode mic arm stand, I kinda don't recommend this. Also, I tried to loosen the joints by using an Allen key but I ended loosening it too much the joints ended up falling apart and now I can't fix it anymore so be careful bc you probably can't put it back together especially the middle joint if you mess with it a lot. I saw that there was a small metal cylinder sticking out and I tried to fix it but somehow I ended up making it disassemble itself (the middle joint). IDK why innogear does not even tell you how to loosen the joints in the manual paper that comes with it. I may just buy another mic arm stand.
    The reason I bought was bc my brother has it and he had it for some time now. And when I saw how stiff mine was I compared it to his mic arm stand ( the same one) and his was more flexible/loose and I carefully checked the joints of his and I see that he never loosened it, which is just dumb and weird. So over time, it loosens? I just think Innogear needs this fix this issue and tell the customers how to loosen the joints.
